Irene was playing around with Erza before Erza's power up, she could even cover the distance between them before she could react, Erza had DS which is anathema to Dragons, and with her pants sword which focuses all power to offense, plus PoF and Irene's enchantment is would deliver quite a bit of damage, yet Irene never fell. Even as a persona, transferring the wound from Selene received by Ignia to Irene she said that would not be the end of her.

Amazing how people on this forum don't want to accept the powercreep. I really regret that Brandish and Irene have reappeared. They have no feats since Alvarez but they will face the humans DG and solo and Ishgar? Really guys?
Spriggan stans are too much on the copium. So you say Irene has a chance because the portrayal puts Haku on par with Suzaku but when you're told the DGs are Acno tier (watch out same tier doesn't mean equal) you refuse to deal with it.

Hiro said there is none so the author's words hold more power over fans beliefs. They have since Aldaron with her power supporting Gajeel to fight a slightly weakened DG or Irene's power so great that it is stronger than Wendy's who with her potential defeated Haku who is on Suzaku's level.

If Irene is stronger than Wendy who could beat Haku, then Human Selene is in trouble.

In one of the Afterward Volumes of the sequel, said that he avoided the power creep and that Irene is still considered one of the strongest in the series. And this was recent during the labyrinth arc.
