I'm not so sure cause they said in chapter 908 that Kuma was the former King of Sorbet Kingdom.
But I will bet that he was on the God Valley Island and since he was a King he might have been thrown under the bus for whatever reason.

Kuma was a king, but i thing he not Sorbet blood, Kuma are rare species but Bonney are not, bonney grandma are known queen of sorbet,,
So i say Kuma merried Sorbet princess.

I'm going to bet that chapter 1100 will be the the God Valley incident and this is just the lead up.

Maybe Bonney will end up hating Shanks depending on what happens.

Looks like we may be getting a flashback from either Bonney’s perspective via Kuma’s memories or maybe we’re cutting away from the main events to MG and having Garling account some events at God Valley either before or after the Rocks pirates came into the picture.

Hmm, looks like Big Mom and Kaido are making a comeback after all. Maybe this is partially the reason Kaido's flashback wasn't particularly detailed.

What is God Valley

We learned that 800 years ago all mentions to the previous 19 royal families were erased from their original kingdoms in order to make room for the newly selected royal families. My guess is that the 19 royal families monuments and tombs were all transferred from their former kingdoms to God Valley who became the official graveyard of Tenryubitos after they established themselves in Marigeoise - God Valley would be the equivalent of the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.

What is Kuma’s past

Bonney and Kuma’s story:

• Sorbet kingdom could not afford the Heavenly tribute due to poverty
• Sorbet kingdom was raided by Holy Knights who killed Kuma’s father and took Kuma hostage
• Kuma was brought to God Valley where he was beaten up by Tenryubitos on a daily basis
• Queen dowager Connie was forced to pay tribute to WG to save Kuma’s life
• Kuma became known as the tyrant king due to the heavenly tribute raised and claimed under his name
• Rocks Pirates raided God Valley 38 years ago and 9 years old Kuma escaped WG
• Pirate Kuma met Dragon and joined RA and lost his crown
• Kuma had a daughter named Bonney 24 years ago at age 23
• Revolutionary Kuma was captured along with Bonney who was taken hostage by Holy Knights
• Kuma made a deal with WG to study his special race body to prevent Bonney from suffering the same childhood than his
• Kuma made a secret deal with Vegapunk and remove his consciousness from his body 2 years ago thanks to his DF powers

Does go with my old idea which was in part that the Celestial Dragons as we know them are all stooge bloodlines installed as the "rulers" of the world to take eyeballs off people like the Gorosei and the Figarlands.
