Irene was playing around with the two so she was not all in, that is why Wendy could affect Irene’s enchantment at the time, and when Irene possessed Wendy’s body and utilized Wendy’s potential She was still overwh by Irene’s power, also Wendy could harm Erza with her enchantments too, and this is Erza who could take hits from a power that had all of FT’s strongest wizards and an Island, Selene was not supporting Irene’s plan in the first place which was shown above

Erza who was empowered by Wendy as Irene, who could take the power of all the strongest wizards in FT and an Island in the past and got stronger and had DS at the last moment by Wendy who’s power could toss around Erza and still lost to Irene, yeah not seeing that any time soon. Even Irene could affect Selene which can only be done with a stronger MP level and Irene’s power as a persona was still greater than Wendy who defeated Haku who scales to Suzaku and “supposedly“ defeated Selene in her human form. Dragon form is a different story tho
