I know that some may find this thread pointless, based on Serena's canonical statements regarding the difference in power between him and Enny, but there are a number of people here that do not believe Serena's statement due to Enny's performance against Erza. So I wanna read various opinions on this matchup.

a weaker character can still give someone a hard time if their magic has an advantage against the other person for example Marin and how mages like Ezra and Lucy can’t use their magic around him.

God Serena just said that they were MORE FRIGHTENING than him in official translations, no single reason to believe signarios are more powerful. And he just ranked Ishgar below Guiltina because he thought the Gods of Ishgar were still the top dogs.

And no, their hax don't make them superior, the signarios hax is garbage against serious opponents, just ask Enny herself who admitted that their hax were mere cheap tricks

God Serena just said that they were MORE FRIGHTENING than him in official translations, no single reason to believe signarios are more powerful. And he just ranked Ishgar below Guiltina because he thought the Gods of Ishgar were still the top dogs.

The actual reason was that Mashima wanted to hype the new villains, just gratuitous hype.

If you still want a inside universe reason: Duke was the one who revived God Serena so he wanted to praise Duke and his guild as a big deal since their hax could be dangerous. And it was a way to say that they could do things he cannot do, God Serena is more poweful as a fighter, but he cannot transform people into furries nor create alchemy dolls as strong as himself.

Show me any DIRECT statement saying that Enny is STRONGER than Serena. The official translation just uses the word FRIGHTENING. By definition something frightening is something that makes you feel fear, which in context implies that they have high power but DOES NOT directly ranks them as he could just be talking about the nature of their abilities, otherwise he would have just said ''you think i'm powerful? they are much more'' but it wasn't what he said. So no, not a single statement makes Enny win

You can also check the japanese word used Yabee which is a slang for yabai, and these words can mean: dangerous, terrible, extreme, etc, so nothing that correlates to powerful or strong

People really needs to have a better reading interpretation, with Kirin and Suzaku discussion TWO OF THE STRONGEST is not the same of THE TWO STRONGEST, people can't use this to wank Kirin but they do anyway, and FRIGHTENING does not means STRONG or POWERFUL, so Signarios can't be wanked using Serena words, Signarios being stronger than God Serena is just a myth that i want to debunk. I'm also a digimon powerscaler and i know many myths that ruled the digimon powerscaling before, ZeedMillenniummon never was the strongest digimon it was just some fans wanking his time and space powers and his portrayal in japanese exclusive games, but even one of this games he is said to be weaker than Omegamon. Other myth was that Chronomon was made to beat Yggdrasil when in reality Chrono Core who was born from his data just WANTED to take Yggdrasil down, people simply stretched the story. What i want mean is that i recognize a myth when i see one, so i repeat Signarios being stronger than Serena is just a MYTH that has no support in reality, be by feats, statements or portrayal, just mere faith.
