Some people are speculating that Thriller Bark’s land is part of God Valley, but I can’t help feeling that the silhouettes in the fog remind me of Imu.

The one in the mist? If the hint really refers to the creature of the mist, then it's a good thing Oda didn't leave like another loose end.

Some people are speculating that Thriller Bark’s land is part of God Valley, but I can’t help feeling that the silhouettes in the fog remind me of Imu.

It's cleary a reference to the giant monster not TB. Probably has something to do with Davey Jones

They resemble Imu's silhouette though. Since these past chapters seem to involve Imu, I was also wondering if Oda could explain that phenomenon using Imu

Well I did not watch the OP Egghead anime but in the manga it looked like the elders were not really flinching when approaching the sea. But nevertheless you might be right on the call.

Either way the sea king bite his arm off with the mark on it. So I bet that severed his connection to Imu powers.

No they may work on the sea. I will give you an example to support what I say. Remember when Luffy transformed into Nika and the sea water started swelling and getting affected by his rubber abilities. That's one. Another is when whitebeard used the gura gura to create tsunamis. That affects the sea. A third one is when aokiji used his ice ability to freeze the sea on multiple occasions. So yeah. It can totally work on the sea

I personally don't think so. I can't think of any way that this image would translate to Galley La. But if you can think of something let me hear it. I am curious

They're supposed to be creatures that would be mentioned later... and they're f'ing huge. Now's a great time for super sized ancient giants to be revealed.

Ah, I see what you mean. But look: the hint seems to refer specifically to those shapes hidden in the mist. And the Giants, from what we know so far, are supposed to be dormant somewhere else. I really don’t think they would be lying dormant in the sea with their eyes flashing menacingly as if they were awake. Plus, Giants aren’t that huge. Remember, Oars (if I recall his name correctly) was much smaller than Thriller Bark.

But the things we see on the sea are on a completely different scale; they’re gigantic on another level entirely. The only titanic silhouettes we’ve seen so far that match that size are the shadows of the people from Skypiea.

So I wonder if that creature is a secret government weapon. I found it weird how I the last chapter the narrator said GV just "sank" into the ocean. Could the island really have been swallowed by the ocean just because of the fight between Xebec, garp, or Roger? Or did something swallow it up? Perhaps someone with a certain power that we haven't met yet? I hope it's not a projection of a giant shadow (imu's) into the surface like at the beginning of skipea. That'd be lame.
