Issue 52 chapter reviews (No Nue = sad... Jokes aside pretty disappointing issue as a whole.)

1. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: Insane glowup this series has had. This conflict feels real, infuriatingly reasonable the way both sides got their points for how emotionally driven and unstable they are. The speaking leaders of both sides are level headed and understand the situation fully trying to diffuse it, while the rest subconsciously WANT that conflict so their opinions and views can bw validated. That gunshot may very well sign the end of the peaceful fun times of the series. (Notice how the series became better the more it veered away from the JJK punch fighting, but that may be just me)

2. Someone Hertz: Again, we see more of Mimei's sides and it's great. We can see how he is a model student in his daily life. That spread was so good in its simplicity too. The pen exchange was genius as well. Mind you I don't actually have much to say about Hertz each week, but it's so good in its simplicity. Really, you need to read it to get it. Also, Sakamoto Days reference!

3. JK Yuusha: Best chapter in the series by far. Arata and Myojo are great additions to the cast and made this whole chapter honestly hilarious. Speaking of, the bow was the best joke by the way. Looking forward to seeing these two again!

4. Kagurabachi: Last week I was SURE it was going to be first place, but it ended up not even top 3. Not a bad chapter at all though, hype as usual and the narrator did a good job at explaining all the sensations Samura felt, although the narration was definitely overdone. Like, I can see the images dude. The meat of the fight will be next week.

5. Ichi The Witch: I think this chapter somewhat displays what both my issues with and praises of this arc: the stuff with Chro, Minerva, the love of family and its complexity is all great, we see it in full display with Chro's speech here. However, the antagonists are... Lame. Like, Hitsugi's own speech is the most overdone "The strong will live and you'll get to preserve your loved one" that we've seen in media over and over again. Obviously he's not done in this fight (otherwise holy anticlimactic) but so far him and Kizashi just feel so damn shallow, uninteresting, TOO simple. Not a bad chapter as a whole mind you, but it summerizes my feelings on this arc well.

6. Shinobi Undercover: Same old "ditch your squad and join us cause you are better than them" moment. They get up and go "we'll show you!!" Right after the main character replies "No, you don't get my squad!". No joke I knew how the whole thing would go beat for beat the moment she posed that question. Whatever chapter all around.

7. Gonron Egg: It's NOT last?! Insane. Anyways artwork is super faulty as always, the fight was uninteresting as all hell, and the little kiss was cute in a "Wow this is so badly cheesy" sort of way. Human Liberation Army is introduced and we finally see that dude that was on the LCP in chapter 1, which I kinda like actually. Is it a good chapter? No. Is it the worst in the series? Nope.

8. The Mage Next Door: That was a TERRIBLE character introduction. The overly simplistic dialogue is REALLY starting to get to me and 4 chapters in, I can't just ignore it anymore. It feels like everyone is reading off of a script. "Mages are all evil, so we catch 'em all without exception." "Obviously they can use magic, so they're pretty dangerous." Zero personality at all in these lines, even Gonron Egg doesn't have this issue, not to this degree anyways. And the police dudes are as interesting as a pile of bricks at first hand. Action sequence was the worst in the series, and we had a SWORD this time. How do you make a sword slicing a huge rock look lame? Hell not even any new funky magic from Osoegawa, drop that goddamn water gun already!!

I do hope mage next door improves, this was the weakest chapter till this day, hope it improves in all honesty and that Osoegawa uses something other than the water gun. I do want it to succeed mind you moreso than gonron egg.

I think Hero girl and demon lord call it quit is finding its mark which is good.

Maybe, alongside the predictions, we could post our wishes for the 2026 WSJ? I wish Horikoshi was back
Ken Wakui back
Yoshihiko Hayashi back
Masanori morita back

Okay, gonna share my predictions now.
Though it's gonna be more about batches and potential mangaka joining the magazine rather than predictions on current series, who gets axed and who's doing the anime.
I think that we'll have 5 batches of 13 new manga join the line-up, all with varying degrees of success.
Here's how that might look:
Batch 1 (February): 2 new manga; one by a veteran (successful or not is irrelevant) and the other by a rookie
Batch 2 (April): 2 new manga; both by rookies
Batch 3 (July): 3 new manga; first by a veteran (successful or not is irrelevant), the rest are by rookies
Batch 4 (September): 2 new manga; both by veterans, with one of the vets being a failed mangaka and the other is one that found success
Batch 5 (November): 4 new manga; the first 2 are by veterans, with one being successful and the other is not, with the other 2 being done by rookies
6 are being done by veterans, while 7 are being done by rookies.
Though, I could also see 9 rookies joining, with 4 veterans returning.

Potentially Returning:
- Yoshihiko Hayashi
- Tadaichi Nakama
- Omosuke Kobayashi
- Kento Amemiya
- Haruichi Furudate
- Kei Kamiki

(I expect to see some combination of the 3 GFC winners to debut sometime in Jump for 2026)
Potential Newcomers Joining:
- Shirokuma Shirosaki
- Tabigoro Kuji
- Izumi Hakase
- Taro Kaneko
- Kento Sako
- Taisei Tsujita
- Natsuki Osonoe
- Danjō
- Kazuhiko Okawa
- Ryosuke Momota
- Sho Fukamori

Those newcomers y'all are mentioning are authors from GFCs, other Shueisha magazines, Jump+, and/or from other publishers, right?

I wanted to know how many Jump+ writers transitioned to WSJ. Unfortunately my guy Yuji Kaku flopped in his 1st WSJ try, but I don't remember other names. Not because there were none, but due to my ignorance.

My predictions for 2026:

One Piece: Will keep going normally. Now that the anime is bsaically going seasonal we will have a new movie announced next year. The One Piece remake will reveal some new info and some sort of PV.

Hunter x Hunter: Will return in the first half of 2026, publish 10 chapters and again disappear for another year. Barely nothing will really move in the main plot

Black Clover: It will end but not in the next batch of the chapters. We will get a PV and release date for the 2nd anime season, it will broadcast on Fall 2026 just like the original.

Me & Roboco: Keep going normally. Anime 2nd Season is announced. The next volume covers parody will be Bleach, Nisekoi, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Souma and Reborn!

Sakamoto Days: will end in the 2nd half. Live Action will be a moderated success. Anime 2nd Season will be announced on Jump Festa this December

The Elusive Samurai: Manga will end in the next round. 3rd anime season will be announced right after 2nd season is finished

Witch Watch: Will end in the 2nd half of 2026. Anime 2nd season will broadcast on Fall, another 24 episodes

Blue Box: Manga will end in the 2nd half. Anime 2nd season will start in April, another 24 episodes with Season 3 immediately announced.

Akane-banashi: Manga will keep going normally. The anime 1st season will be 24 episodes, broadcast on April, it will be a success but it's not going to move much copies for the manga, at least physical. 2nd season will be announced immediately after broadcast ends

Nue's Exorcist: It will keep going normally. Anime will be announced in 2026 for either Fall 2026 or April 2027, it will be a good studio. It will get 2 covers, 3 if anime starts this year and many color pages. If it's for Fall 2026, 24 episodes and i predict a pretty decent boost but nothing really big but it will be pretty big on Jp social media and forums.

Kagurabachi: Will keep going normally. Anime will be announced in the first half of 2026 for either Summer or Fall, 24 episodes, the studio is already known. It will give a pretty good boost but not what some hardcore fans expect it. Unfortunately i expect Hokazono to get quite tired due to having to draw more covers & color pages than usual and having to work with anime related stuff which might cause a number of breaks.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi: It will keep going normally. It will keep with the ups and downs in the ToC while getting a health number of color pages. It will get a cover for 2nd anniversary. And here a more "wild" prediction, it will get a anime announced in the 2nd half since it will easily surpass 100 chapters around June/July and Kiyoshi is the kind of series i think Jump will try to strike it while still hot.

Hima-Ten!: It will keep going normally. It will get a cover for its 2nd anniversary & anime announcement since it's a romcom and these gets a anime adaptation faster.

Ichi the Witch: It will keep going normally. It will get as much or even more covers & lead cp than last year. Sales will slowly reach 100k in a month. Anime will be announced in the 2nd anniversary or during the 2nd half.

Shinobi Undercover: It will keep going normally. It will keep getting many color pages but i think the ToC rankings will calm down. Sales will slowly increase more. This one i don't think will get a anime just right now but in 2027, there's no necessity to rush.

Otr of the Flame: It's very likely to get axed in the next round but i'm not 100% yet.

Harukaze Mound: Same as Otr, it depends on what Jump wants to do, how many series they will start or want to finish. Volume 2 will se a increase in sales even if just small.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: It will end in the first half of the year but maybe not as fast as we expect, Gege might take just a bit longer to end, i expect 4 volumes. Volume 1 will sell over 300k in the month.

Someone Hertz: It will keep going normally. It will be a big success getting many color pages and i think at least 2 magazine covers, 1 for early popularity and the other for anniversary. Volume 1 will sell at least 30k in the month but will be underprinted.

Gonron Egg: Will flop

The Mage Next Door: It will not flop but it will struggle. Volume 1 sales will be between 5k ~ 10k

Hero Girl & Demon Lord: Really hard to predict with this one but i also think isn't going to be a immediate flop but will struggle.

Ruri Dragon: Might get a anime announced since if they're going to really wait for the series to reach the usual number of chapters we will never get one, not even 50 chapters in almost 4 years lmao!

Anime Predictions:

Naruto & Boruto:
The 4 episodes will finally be broadcast and we will finally have new information for Boruto Part 2 after the broadcast ends

Bleach: While the 3rd part of the TYBW anime was underwhelming compared to the former parts the final one i expect to be pretty great with many changes by Kubo to make it less rushed like in the manga. There will be some sort of announcement regarding Bleach Hell arc, either in manga or a official anime series sequel. Maybe some news about Burn The Witch.

My Hero Academia: The major announcement on Jump Festa will be a sequel movie written by Horikoshi with the adult cast.

Mission Yozakura Family: We will get the date and full PV for 2nd season on Jump Festa, it will broadcast on April 2026, same timeslot and 24 episodes again. 3rd season will be announced immediately.

Chainsaw Man: Anime 2nd season announced on Jump Festa

Undead Unluck: Anime 2nd season will be announced at the end of the 1 hour special.

Kill Blue: We will have a full PV on Jump Festa, anime will broadcast on April 2026, 24 episodes. It will have a 2nd season announced. Maybe we will get some sort of manga special on Jump Plus to celebrate the anime start.

Super Psychic Policeman Chojo: Anime will be good and well received, it will 12 episodes but the popularity online will help a 2nd season to happen.

Kochikame: It will have a Studio on Jump Festa for the 50th anniversary of the series so i going to predict a new anime adaptation announced at some moment in 2026.

Psyren: The anime adaptation will be revealed on Jump Festa

Katekyo Hitman Reborn: The new anime will finally be revealed as the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original anime.

The Promised Neverland: A anime reboot project announced as part of the 10th anniversary of the series

Dragon Ball Super: The anime sequel for Super will finally be announced in the next big DB event on January

Mashle: 3rd anime season will broadcast in the 1st half, 4th season announced right away

Rurouni Kenshin: The 3rd season will broadcast next year, 24 episodes, and the 4th and maybe final season for the original manga adaptation immediately announced.

Remake: Excluding Psyren at least another 2 older series are going to either get a remake or first adaptation.

Other predictions:

-Iwashiro Toshiaki will finally return with a new serialization right away after Psyren anime gets announced

-Komi Naoshi will finally return after 10 years

-Miura Tadahiro (Yuna-san) will start a new ecchi series

-Kei Kamiki (Magu-chan) will return with a new series

-Signal All Red will be serialized, another GFC winner might be finally serialized too.

-One of these failed newbies will return: Daisuke Enoshima (Fabricant 100), Kazu Kakazu (Our Blood Oath), Tadaichi Nakama (Tokyo Demon Bride Story) or Shinpei Watanabe (Ginka & Gluna)

-There will be 2 or 3 new successful series in 2026

-Jump will finally try a new football series due to the World Cup and also finally a new basket one

Edit: I made just a small edit adding Black Clover anime on Fall and changing S2 of Witch Watch from Summer to Fall

Alright, when I have the time, I will celebrate as tradition every series for their x5-x0 anniversaries by showing their anime adaptations.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Alright, now I can do it. Also for note, I will not include series that are celebrating their 35th and 55th anniversaries due to no anime adaptations nor have the accessibility necessary. Even for some that are celebrating their 40th and 25th anniversaries like Taro-kun and Mr. Fullswing that didn’t have anime adaptations but yet their fellow series from that year did. Now having said that, let us begin.

For starters we will go over our first batch dating back from 1976-1981 with our first 4 series (since one of them did get a remake). Kochikame with its 50th anniversary, Captain Tsubasa’s 45th anniversary, Cat’s Eye’s 45th anniversary, and Stop Hibari Kun’s! 45th anniversary.

Also, given the fact that we are in a new magazine year. I'm gonna be bringing back up a question that @Phantom RPG asked in the 2025 thread: Who is one newcomer that you're hoping to see join the line-up in the near future & why?
Complete with the challenge that you cannot repeat a name that someone has already said to keep things varied.

Okay now for part 2 but also a bit of a shout out for other series that I ignored in part 1 that were hits that I did ignore from part one and what to see not make it for part 2 (and a bit for part 3).

-Samurai Giants 55th anniversary
-Kōya no Shōnen Isamu 55th anniversary
-Black Angles 45th anniversary
-Kenritsu Umisora Kōkō Yakyū Buin Yamashita Tarō-kun 40th anniversary
-Outer Zone 35th anniversary
-Pennant Race: Yamada Taichi no Kiseki 35th anniversary
-Wild Half 30th anniversary
-Mr. Fullswing 25th anniversary

Okay now after giving these series their dues, now I give the series that have their anime openings and/or are accessible my attention.

So, starting with our next video, we have Saint Seiya with its 40th anniversary, Hoshin Engi’s 30th anniversary (which will have 2 openings), and Yu-Gi-Oh’s! 30th anniversary (which also has 2 openings with one from Toei and one from Gallop).

I'll go first by repeating my answer in the previous thread:
Izumi Hakase (Signal All Red)

Hoping that 2026 will be the year that we finally see a GFC winner debut and that Hakase manage to strike gold with their first series, because it would be cool to see them do a series that's an unholy mixture of Iruma-kun, Medaka Box, Danganronpa & Sket Dance. It could even be a great successor to Witch Watch should Osoegawa fail

Now time for part 3 which is getting easier. We start off with Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo with its 25th anniversary, Bleach’s 25th anniversary, To Love Ru’s 20th anniversary, Nisekoi’s 15th anniversary (I know everyone will love this [cough cough Shunki] :Haha ), and Yunna and the Haunted Hot Springs ‘s 10th anniversary.

Also quick shout out to Mx0 for its 20th anniversary.

Okay here are the videos.

--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

And now for part 4, but doing the math here, it will bleed over into a part 5. I was debating on having Boruto in here, but since I will, I will make it 3 openings for part 4 and part 5 since I have 6 left.

So for starters, we have Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer with its 10th anniversary, Boruto with its 10th anniversary (even though it is a Naruto sequel, I had to cause I was split), and The Promised Neverland’s 10th anniversary.

--- Double Post Merged, ---

And finally part 5 with our 3 main series of focus. All 3 will celebrate their 5th anniversaries in The Elusive Samurai, Witch Watch, and Blue Box.

I'm not very good at predicting things, and it always turns out the opposite, just like when I buy a stock hoping it will go up.

However, if Himaten! gets axed, I'll be happy, very much.
What is with all of these newbies wanting series axed that definitely won't get axed?

Ends naturally end of 2026

5. The Elusive Samurai by Yusei Matsui

It will still continue

7. Blue Box by Koji Miura

Get anime announcement

11. Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono

Anime announcement and more regular breaks. Up trajectory as WSJ pillar.

12. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi by Shoichi Usui

Survive as mid ranker

13. Hima-Ten! by Genki Ono

Survive as mid ranker

14. Ichi the Witch by Osamu Nishi & Shiro Usazaki

Up trajectory as WSJ pillar. Will gets. A lot of cover and CP. Especially because Usazaki has capacity for it

15. Shinobi Undercover by Ippon Takegushi & Santa Mitarashi

Stay successful and continues.

16. Otr of the Flame by Yuki Kawaguchi

It survives against all odds.

17. Harukaze Mound by Togo Goto & Kento Matsuura

Axed.

18. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo by Gege Akutami & Yuji Iwasaki

It will end as scheduled around ch 25 to 26. I really don't think Gege gonna extend it. I don’t think it will become full serialization either. From Gege's words, Modulo is just gonna be a foundation for potential spinoff taking place in same universe, so it will not touch the OG JJK universe.

We possibly will get announcement on future JJK spinoff, some may take place in modulo universe. Gege may or may not write it. I totally see him taking backseat from actually writing the story and just do supervisory role. The spinoff will be by a different artist (or Iwasaki may do it again). And it may not necessarily be in WSJ.

19. Someone Hertz by Ei Yamano

Continues. Sales will be moderate maybe 10k to 20k

20. Gonron Egg by Shuhei Tanizaki

Axed.

21. The Mage Next Door by Hideaki Nabe

Axed

22. Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits by Matsuri Hatsubina

Axed

Black clover gonna ends in the next 3 chapters

- One Piece, Kagurabachi, n Ichi the Witch held up as the neo-Big 3
- Someone Hertz outsells the underdog trio and ends up in the Top 3 in Tsugimanga.
- Speaking of that, a minor fandom rivalry between Hertz n Roboco happens but isnt big
- Nue anime announced for late 2027
- Otr and Harukaze ecancelled in the same batch, Harukaze still outselling Otr but not by so much.
- Shinobi Undercover and Himaten animes leaked at the same time.
- Kiyoshi drops in TOC after some weird arc writing leading people to wonder if it may get axed, but then the story continues as normal.
- Ruri declines in sales but not drastically, and anime is announced in the second half of the year
- Sakamoto Days declines slightly, then rises again, then stagnates
- Someone's random Nue's Exorcist doujin causes a controversy on the web, is memed to death by 4chan
- Blue Box ending is repeatedly dunked on and memed, lots of NTR jokes
- Kagurabachi gets its anime officially announced finally before the end of April-July. Chihiro's VA for the anime is revealed as Koji Yusa. However due to production issues it is slightly delayed.
- Uma Musume collaboration group cover
- Ichi anime is leaked in September.
- Gonron flops and is U19'd quickly, ending at around 16-17 chapters
- Mage Next Door either survives with mid TOC/sales, but is mostly ignored throughout its entire run, or is cancelled around chapter 45-70 and an anime is announced after its axed (which causes it to briefly trend on Twitter, but when the anime actually drops is nothing but radio silence on its end and it mostly fades into obscurity with only a very small, niche following still talking about it.
- Hero Girl survives for a bit w good TOC/rankings, but drops to the bottom eventually and ends up being axed, or is successful and sells just below Nue.
- Jump will serialize a new unambiguously magical girl manga from a newbie author. Is a surprising hit, ends up blowing up on Twitter n Pixiv w tons of fanart.
- Also a magical girl one-shot from a returning-veteran author, does not get serialized however.
- Horikoshi returns w a horror / dark-fantasy adjacent oneshot which eventually gets serialized
- JJK Modulo ends and sells around 110K-500K.
- September will have the biggest hit of the year.
- Saito serializes a new gag manga hoping to overtake Roboco, but the reception just ends up lukewarm as it gets overshadowed by the rest of its batch.
- Speaking of which, a new exorcist battle shonen manga appears and blows up in the west, is glazed a lot, but then is axed U19'ed, not because of bad sales or TOC but with some controversy with the author, who then goes on a rant on their Twitter with some people defending them and somepeople taking Shueisha's side. Although the series is already dead, the cancelled 1st volume manages to sell around 6-8k.
- Demon Slayer and KPop Demon Hunters collab (bc lol)
-ASOU RETURN PLEASE PLEASE PKEASE
- Group cover collab with Pretty Cure for some reason ?
- Hero Girl and Mage Next Door for their first volume sells around 10k

idk just saying random shit.
