This Nue chapter was so stupidly detailed, it actually blows my mind. Between the npc designs, the gamer background at the start, the finger signs Soranaki does at the end (unironically the horniest panel in the chapter even with the swimsuits), to Shitotsu inadvertly calling herself an idiot which I wouldn't be surprised if people just didn't realize lol.

Fantastic chapter, will yap about it and everything else later.

There's already fanart of Shitotsu friends, which had screentime of literally 1 page, with over 1k likes in just 3 hours LMAO!

Btw, that masked girl... :hurr

Daijirou Nonoue and Masahiro Hirakata moving to Jump+ next serialization round.
Btw, Hirakata series is a highschool girls table tennis, would be really funny if this one actually becomes a success :XD

Kinnikuman remains a slog to read. The Seven Devil Chojin arc was totally whatever while the Golden Mark arc is maybe my least favourite so far in the series until now. I know that wraps up in 1983 so here's hoping something works for me.
The disrespect to the Stecasse King fight! Really cool idea though, thanks for the impressions. I assume Kinnikuman is just a worse read weekly, I can imagine the Dream Chojin arc dragging for you. lol

WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP ISSUE #1 (2026) - AUTHOR COMMENTS!

Ichi the Witch (Shiro Usazaki)

One cup of coffee and I can’t move for two hours. That’s the level of my stomach that I fight every day with.

Kagurabachi (Takeru Hokazono)

I love the rhythm of the action in the Reze Arc movie. And I’m blown away by how detailed Reze’s movements are.

One Piece (Eiichiro Oda)

I’m currently obsessed with 8D audio. It feels so great to be enveloped in sound. I want to remodel my room!

Shinobi Undercover (Ippon Takegushi)

I’m wondering how I’m going to eat the eight apples that my family sent me from my hometown. They’re delicious.

Akane-banashi (Yuki Suenaga)

I watched Last Samurai Standing and DAW90000 “Romance.” Both were great!

Sakamoto Days (Yuto Suzuki)

By the time this author comment is released, I should be once again fighting the Divine Beast Dancing Lion in the DLC.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Yuji Iwasaki)

I didn’t like the rain until I got an awesome umbrella. Great way to get over things you dislike.

Me & Roboco (Shuhei Miyazaki)

Thanks for putting up with me for a year, Kamiya-san! Welcome to the team, Yamazaki-san!

Someone Hertz (Ei Yamano)

I received a castella cake that’s like a bed. I’m happy just from the size, but it’s also extra delicious.

The Mage Next Door (Hideaki Nabe)

I went to watch minor-league baseball during the summer. Getting to see Yuito Mori, Fujinami, and others was an amazing experience.

Witch Watch (Kenta Shinohara)

Volume 24 is now on sale in Japan. I added some bonus Wai-Wai Wild stickers.

Hero Girl and the Demon Lord Call It Quits (Matsuri Hatsubina)

I was using “nda” for “yes,” and my assistant said it was too much of a country dialect. Nda!

The Elusive Samurai (Yusei Matsui)

For the first round of the Climax Series, I was thinking the Pacific League second-place team should play the Central League’s first-place team. That’s how big the difference in the two leagues feels this season.

Gonron Egg (Shuhei Tanizaki)

I’m constantly watching Serinin Mutaro videos. I can’t eat raw fish though.

Nue’s Exorcist (Kota Kawae)

I opened the second of my new choco eggs and got a red monk holding a parasol.

Hima-Ten! (Genki Ono)

I use “___-Ten!” for the chapter title when Tenichi is doing housework at one of the heroine’s houses.

Blue Box (Kouji Miura)

I’ve started eating nabe for dinners. I’ll definitely get healthier now.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (Shoichi Usui)

I opened the door for a short time to get some fresh air, and a cat entered the house without me noticing. Everyone froze in surprise.

Harukaze Mound (Kento Matsuura)

I watched Princess Mononoke in IMAX! It’s strange how it gets better the older I get.

Otr of the Flame (Yuki Kawaguchi)

The KALDI kimchi with shrimp in it is a little sour and so good!

I think it's cute how we know next to nothing about digital tank sales but SJ will dutifully take the hours out of their day to drop annual t-shirt rankings.
Reze movie did a lot for CSM, unsurprisingly. MHA also made the cut with an iconic page. And Kagurabachi doing the same with two of its own. I forget sometimes how insanely popular Uruha is. Wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if he made top 3 in the popularity poll with Chihiro and Hakuri.
That astronaut chainsawman panel has been no 1 or top 10 many times for the past few years since its release though. Well deserved. Probably the best and most iconic panel ever. Insane artistry

May I check when will the last issue of WSJ be published this year? On 15 Dec or 22 Dec? I am trying to see if we will get 2 or 3 more chapters in 2025

Every Kanna chapter I hope for the author to make a twist and reveal that the Hima from the name of the series does not come from Himarin, but instead is some pun involving " 暇 " the adjective for being free/not busy.
This would also shut my friends up that read just to shit on any girl that isn't the "winner one"
.

Hima-Ten! (Genki Ono)

Would love to see Ono surprising everybody, i don't really know why a harem romcom author would name a series in a way that pretty much give it away who is the winning heroine lol

One-sentence thoughts on everything:

OP: Dude so many things happened what the heck, Mosa confirmed, sea contract mechanics, Shanks racism cosplay, Harald really a goat for sacrificing his backstory time to give us cool moments with other people we’re more invested in.

Roboco: Business as usual.

Sakamoto: Somehow feels more dialed in even though plot feels like it’s moving in slo-mo, wondering how Sakamoto’s even gonna wake up.

EluSam: Matsui you tease me with the Natsu Genba agenda, Evil Matsui, But W realistic character behavior.

Witch Watch: Didn’t catch that he was backstory guy but lowkey a goat now, turtle man didn’t die for nothing.

Blue Box: Cookies funny, looking forward to the post-match catharsis.

Akane: Actually locked in on Kaisei now, bro went from seeming the arrogant perfect boy to a tragedy in a heartbeat.

Ruri: Same vibe as last chapter albeit less Ruri, but still cool friendmaxxing, would not mind a few more of these to show Ruri really leveling up her ability to learn people.

Nue: W Gashadokuro, strong and respectable, Soranaki also fun and zany, but the real comedy MVP is poor track team captain who is constantly having and existential crisis at the inhuman behemoths he’s had to reckon with all in one day.

Kagurabachi: Soya moving like Shibuya Gojo getting all the people out of harm, almost thought Chihiro was gonna copy a Magatsumi ability but that might be a little too wild to pull right now.

Kiyoshi: Good way to save him after he burnt his candle, always here for early-series character making impact.

Hima-ten: Wish it said “Kanna-ten” since it flows better to me but guessing it had to be as is since “Ka-n” is two characters, crazy progress though I doubt this is a good sign for the Kanna agenda since she’s the first in line.

Ichi: About to have a tragic backstory for an evil majik is not what I was expecting but feel free to cook all day ladies!

Shinobi: Still not a fan of squad 7 lead girl but the rest of them are fun and I enjoy setting up the arduous road towards the other two’s kekkai.

Otr: Tactical chapter with apt solution, final panel fully channeling Horikoshi energy here.

Harukaze: He freaky but I don’t mind him, feels like a good opponent that we’ll get more insight into.

JJK Modulo: Prayers for my homie Cross, and Yuka really looking exactly like Yuta on that last page, wonder if she’s gonna use her terminal condition to justify dying here and repeating the same energy to Dabura that he received last time he had to kill a buddy, see if that’s able to salvage relations.

Someone Hertz: Clever idea, cute stuff, though bro has been having a rough streak of getting new entries read, way behind Mizuo now.

Gonron: Good chapter conceptually but feels really fast as always, and the human art really is something, good at making me feel grotesqued out.

Mage Next Door: Pretty funny, not sure how much it adds overall but I had a pleasant time.

Hero Girl & Demon Lord: Entertaining, not much to say though, still unsure if I feel more confident in it or Osoegawa but I really feel like only one can survive with how much comedy both are starting to lean into.

Still took me like 20 minutes… man I need to get better at being concise.

For Ichi, the last panel is not about the evil majik's backstory. It is about Desscaras's brother who has passed away.

So many serious chapters this week! It's like everyone suddenly decided to buckle up and move the plot along.

I haven't posted in a while, so here are the reviews from the previous two weeks.

Issue #51:

KGB: Oh, smart move, kid! And playing dumb to boot. Shiba is also delightfully efficient, with his "if the mountain won't come to Mohammed" approach. Love it!

Ichi: 204? Wow, that attack shaved off a hundred lives in one go! The other guy might be even more impressive though, if getting cut clean in half doesn't faze him.

Kiyoshi: I know a wizard did it, but it still can't be comfortable puking up something with such massive spikes on it.

Modulo: Feels like a slice-of-life chapter, despite the stakes. The ending is hard to believe though.

Gonron: He's quite good at managing people. Kind of a fresh wind to see a hero who's willing to put his pride aside to make things easier for others.

WW: So this guy has been an enemy all along? That puts some of the earlier chapters into a new perspective. Very efficient method, not what I was expecting from ancient warlords.

Sakamoto: Yeah, that was a spectacularly bad idea.

Shinobi: They're both so innocent. I hope this doesn't turn into a harem thing.

Girl & Demon: It's reminding me of Shy here. Also, kinda seems like it would be more efficient to just let the Demon Lord handle everything since he's so OP.

Mage: There's the girl from the intro page. And she's annoying af. Nothing is stopping you from running around looking for mages by yourself, girl! Fortunately, she soon gets some character development to make her more relatable. Less fortunately, our MC seems to be out of character development already, since his signature laziness has all but disappeared and nothing has replaced it, so he's feeling a little bland now.

Issue #52:

Kiyoshi: That's one way to draw the attention. And suddenly we find ourselves with a war on four fronts. I wasn't expecting things to spiral so rapidly.

Modulo: I'm glad the misunderstanding was cleared up so quickly, but holy sh*t that escalation. I hope the story doesn't really go there, but I'm afraid it might.

Shinobi: She's not wrong, but she's wrong.

KGB: Someone doesn't believe in "Show, don't tell." It works though.

Ichi: He must be fun at parties. Chro isn't doing half work, though I still don't think it will stick.

Hero girl: You really couldn't think of a better way to tell them? I'm glad those two showed up, though not all jokes landed for me.

Mage: How very diplomatic. I was totally expecting them to fight/run away, so this is a nice change. Chasing small fry is gonna get boring soon though, so I'm still hoping for something different.

Gonron: For something with such a cutesy art style, this is pretty brutal. Wait, so we're not going to meet the human liberation army? That sounds like a missed opportunity.

Votes #52:
1) Kiyoshi
2) Modulo
3) Shinobi
4) KGB
5) Ichi

Votes #01:
1) Modulo
2) Kiyoshi
3) Akane
4) Ichi
5) Gonron

Issue #01:

Modulo: This is a good example of a conflict where nobody is evil or unreasonable, but the interests just don't align. (I'm actually impressed they refrained from killing each other straight away.) I can't understand why they don't just ask the Simurians to help contain the spirits though? If they care about them so much, they probably don't want them wandering off and causing trouble, so it's in everybody's best interest to just keep them isolated within Tokyo.

Kiyoshi: I can't tell if those demons are very brave or very stupid, still rushing him after he killed a few dozen. I can tell Kiyoshi is both. Love the reactions of his teammates. The lady was a nice surprise, too.

Akane: Whoa, things got heavy all of a sudden! The kid (man) almost feels like a hostage now, still trying to please him after whatever happened.

Ichi: Yikes! That got ugly fast, and it's about to get worse. I almost feel sorry for the squid, he doesn't realise what he's messing with. (Smug bastard looks handsome in those clothes though.)

Gonron: A lot of body horror, and a surprising amount of grey for a series about man-eating monsters. For all of its flaws, this series makes me more eager to know what happens next than any of the other newbies except Modulo.

Shinobi: Hahaha! We spent the whole chapter rooting for the underdogs and then Yodaka got his ass kicked. The irony.

OP: So many familiar faces. I wonder what Shanks is up to, because there's no way any of that is true.

KGB: Couldn't they teleport them to the desert or something? This seems inefficient. I'm not entirely sure what happened there in the end, but it seems this battle could soon be over.

WW: The story has shifted into high gear now. I'd still try and talk to the girl first, if I were them.

Nue: Well, it worked.

Hero girl: A little bit contrived, but still, very cute. And I guess this means they have another roommate now.

BB: This felt like a long chapter, even though it isn't. Glad to see things moving again. Those cookies look great.

Mage: I applaud them for trying something different, but I wasn't really into it except for the ending.

Sakamoto: Just take a piece of the chopper, why don't you. Looks like all these fights will keep dragging going on for quite a bit longer.

What I'm wondering is:

Did it have to be connected to Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jump's had a romcom end before with a girl who wasn't the one in the title. So it's possible.

I wonder how long is left for Otr and Harukaze, Harukaze's just starting the big match so I imagine it'll at least be after the new year double issues.

Samura's ability today reminded me a tiny bit of Orihime's lol

In regards to my rankings, I've personally decided, from the beginning, that I would not be ranking JJK Modulo because it's a short series. But it would have been in my top 5 all weeks.

For Ichi, the last panel is not about the evil majik's backstory. It is about Desscaras's brother who has passed away.
I think you mean Shiba lol
I must’ve been tired while reading/writing, haha.

I do still need to vote on last weeks so let me get that out of the way real quick:

Issue 52:
1. Blue Box
2. JJK Modulo
3. Kagurabachi
4. Ichi the Witch
5. One Piece

Very milquetoast picks, I know, but those are the ones that stand out the most to me after a week of not thinking about them.

Issue 1 votes
1. JK Yuusha
2. Himaten
3. Witch Watch
4. One Piece
5. Osoegawa

I was half asleep reading some of the chapters so it was kind of a weak issue for me

JK Yuusha and Osoegawa are competing to fill the Chojo-shaped hole in my heart; they're making a pretty good effort, Osoegawa is definitely more fun when it focuses on comedy over action

It'd definitely be interesting if Himaten ended up pulling a Quintuplets with the "heroine who isn't the obvious winner ends up winning" situation

I don't care nearly as much about One Piece as I did when I caught up 4 years ago, but all the flashback climax stuff was interesting enough to make my top 5 this week
