Nice to get some standouts in things like The Elusive Samurai which is heading towards what's bound to be a satisfying ending, with a Matsui twist on historical facts. I hope he still commits to something quite serious to contrast from the silly, but who knows what the balance will be in the end. This chapter itself was a fantastic closure for Takauji, and Matsui's way of explaining how he can be both cunning and cruel and vicious when younger but eventually also the great acclaimed leader later in life after has been well handled and this whole exchange and conclusion of his chase of Tokiyuki was really, really good. Never expected their showdown to be something more sweet and cathartic in tone.

Someone Hertz also is killing it lately. Love these two together. Enjoyed this more 'serious' arc we've gotten and gives me hope for it recurring (every quarter in-universe, if I remember correctly?). Again, it feels like this would have been a really satisfying end to a cancelled version of the series but fully bought in now on however long the actual journey is going to be. Cuties. My current prediction is around 30k for first month in sales for volume 1, stunted by being out of stock, which will make volume 2's growth even more satisfying.

Nue's Exorcist really knows how to ruin a chapter by switching between its two tonal modes in such annoying whiplash fashion. This flashback has been enjoyable, over far too soon, and now undercut by the second half of this week. And obviously I'm not a lover of the series so I'm not invested in the cast as a whole, but I don't think it's crazy for me to say that even at this point the fodder support girls of the Sixth Elimination Squads are such nobodies that I forget exist until they appear on the page again (apparently their names are Enri, Makoto, Mio, and Reina? I did have to visit the wiki for that, don't kill me). Natsuki being a late joiner exceeds all those interchangeable harem girls (throw Kathy and Ishu in there too), definitely the most successful addition to the cast since the 'main' girls. So yeah, I do not care about what we got this time.

Hima-Ten! is giving my ship another shot but it feels like this is all set-up for when Himari finally gets proactive in her place in the romance and outshines poor Kanai. Also, while I'm throwing it out there: I gate the new Hima-ten volume cover. But of course it would be the cover. Still remains the lowest point of the series. Since the manga is at a funny point in its performance and potential lifespan right now, let's see if it manages to rebound and it becomes more like the soft, sweet, gentle series pre-Kanna that I most enjoyed it for. Someone Hertz has definitely taken that lane and cannibalised Hima-Ten!'s potential in the magazine sooooo if I'm trading one romcom that's more to my flavour for another then I won't be that sad about it. What is right in the end I think will be done. So I guess there's a part of me that doesn't fully by into the injustice that Hima-Ten! is suffering when I just don't think it's as good as it could/should be. Then again I am not the audience of horny teenage boys who wants boobs. (and neither is Saito according to theories here... wait, are we besties now?)

I didn't hate this batch of Black Clover chapters as much as Twitter made me think I would. I do still feel that this arc as a whole has been the worst of the series ever since it switched to quarterly release - the pacing is constantly at 160% and we're not getting satisfying payoff in pretty much any conflict. This final battle was also mega-rushed as expected, but there's something about how it hit the final notes in such a tropey battle shonen way that I kinda liked? It removes any shot of it trying to say anything super meaningful or memorable but I'm not mad. I suppose I've never expected that of this series anyway. Feels obvious now that next batch will be the last (ending at chapter 392, and with 12 chapters total in volume 38). For the time I've spent reading the series I do hope it has a nice epilogue that feels satisfying for most of the casts' character arcs, even if I've been disappointed by all their final showcases as far as action goes.

Excited for some actual dragon content in RuriDragon as well. Got reminded of the KyoAni adaptation again and I am once more hyped.

WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP ISSUE #6-7 (2026) - AUTHOR COMMENTS!

Shinobi Undercover (Ippon Takegushi)

Volume 6 is now on sale in Japan! I’m so grateful that I got a recommendation on the bellyband from Nobuyuki Sakuma!

Ichi the Witch (Shiro Usazaki)

I dropped my phone, and it collided with the middle toe on my right foot. I really thought it was broken, but I was better in two days.

One Piece (Eiichiro Oda)

I watched the Amy Winehouse movie and learned the meaning behind the lyrics. Now I like the music even more.

Witch Watch (Kenta Shinohara)

Happy New Year! I’ll do my best once again this year. Thanks for all the support.

Someone Hertz (Ei Yamano)

Wow! A collabo with All Night Nippon! I love “ano yoru oboeteru.”

The Elusive Samurai (Yusei Matsui)

Happy New Year! I’m near the end, but I’ll draw with everything I’ve got!

Sakamoto Days (Yuto Suzuki)

I made clams cooked in sake. I learned that the ones that are already open are dead.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (Shoichi Usui)

Happy New Year! I’d be grateful for another year of support for Kiyoshi!

Akane-banashi (Yuki Suenaga)

Happy New Year! I’ll be going full speed ahead this year to reach even greater heights!

Blue Box (Kouji Miura)

Happy New Year! I hope to have a healthy year with no colds!

The Mage Next Door (Hideaki Nabe)

Back in the day, I’d pass the year with my friends by opening our goody bags by the river. I’m talking about video games.

Kagurabachi (Takeru Hokazono)

Umeda Cypher, who I loved on the KOC show, is in Jump. Awesome!

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Yuji Iwasaki)

I’ve drawn Dabura in color a few times now, but I still don’t know what color he is.

Hero Girl and the Demon Lord Call It Quits (Matsuri Hatsubina)

My new town and station are a completely different world from where I grew up, but the revolving sushi is the same. That’s reassuring.

Hima-Ten! (Genki Ono)

Happy New Year! Thank you for all the support in the New Year.

Me & Roboco (Shuhei Miyazaki)

Happy New Year! Thanks for the support. I’ll probably be gaining weight over the break.

Nue’s Exorcist (Kota Kawae)

I saw a strange drink in the vending machine, and I’m thinking of buying it.

Otr of the Flame (Yuki Kawaguchi)

Winter is arriving in the real world as well. My heater keeps my fingers warm. Thank you, electricity.

Harukaze Mound (Kento Matsuura)

I watched Last Samurai Standing. It got me hyped like a shonen manga! Swords sure are cool.

Gonron Egg (Shuhei Tanizaki)

I want to go to a hot spring. Like the Ginzan Onsen. I’m doing research while I fantasize about it.

Once again, the top 5 was really close.

Votes:
1) Ichi
2) Shinobi
3) Kiyoshi
4) WW
5) KGB

Ichi: Yikes. I might actually be worried here, if her dying wouldn't kill Ichi too. But she doesn't have to kill him, right? Just put him aside and kill 10 000 other things. The trial didn't specify they needed to be human.

Shinobi: No, that was definitely the right decision. Those other two are just blockheads. Congrats, Unimeko.

Kiyoshi: I'm surprised his clothes still fit. Two fronts decided, two to go.

WW: I like this better when it's going somewhere.

KGB: It's a little bit of an a$$pull, but not too much. The guy lives up to his reputation.(Some people in the M+ comments are panicking because it's got finale vibes and they think it got axed.
:D
)

OP: I'm confused. What's with that hammer and what did the fruit do? Also, why is Loki telling this now? There were plenty of witnesses, so the only way the situation makes any sense is if Loki asked to be imprisoned and to keep it a secret... did he just change his mind?

Akane

Hero:
Yeah, those two are hooking up. Lots of lore here, though it feels kinda pointless since the basic premise of the series is that the war is already over and it feels like daddy dearest is just a few steps behind.

Modulo: I liked this better when it was three guys playing detective. It's so bleak now and I still don't get why they are even fighting.

Otr: Surprise endboss reveal. I give it three more chapters at most.

I'm going to be a bit controversial and state that I think Elusive Samurai will end on issue 9, but it will also miss getting a 5th anniversary cover (It will get a spread akin to Yozakura's and UU's). This is mostly based on Otr, just because while I can't exactly tell how many chapters Elusive Samurai has left, I think its pretty obvious Otr has like 2-3 chapters left max. Leaning towards 3 just because there's nothing indicating Elusam is ending in issue 8.

Yelp hate to dissapoint but, i think Elusive samurai will end around the same time gonron egg will end. In fact am willing to bet that we will get in fact a batch of four or three(I picture to give room for hunter x hunter) this time around, with Ort, Harukaze, Elusive Samurai and Gonron ending around the same time frame. At least thats my perspective on this, so we might be here a bit, at least not until a few more issues have launched. I say around 12-15 issue is where we get new series as that would be when gonron egg would reach 17 chapters.

Also, i am still going to do the whole first impression stuff with jump giga winter 2026 one shots.

I'm updating myself with the new series, i got a couple of weeks behind, already up with Hero Girl & Demon Lord and found quite interesting how authors really work in their chapters thinking about volume ending and start, this chapter 8 is the start of vol 2 and you can totally feel when the author decided to kinda make a "resume" of the whole premise of the series after a bunch of chapters focusing in daily life stuff on vol 1, at the same time it kinda gave me a weird feeling of the author receiving a axe notice because it suddenly decided to focus in the serious premise of trying to know more about the Demon Lord and find a way to kill him, something i would expect to see only happening in the future, not in 8 chapters, but hopefully is just me thinking too much.

I disagree that Gonron will end alongside Otr and Harukaze, its tanked but it has not telegraphed that its ending. We've seen series like it hit bottom but live until the next axe round before. Gonron will probably end around issue 18-20, and that could also easily be a four batch, as that would be around where Modulo, and Gonron end, with the fates of Mage and Demon Girl also being up in the air.

This, and also I’m pretty sure it’s been an iron-clad rule for a while that things don’t get axed the immediate next batch after their debut? So Gonron can’t end until the upcoming batch where likely Elusam, Otr, and Harukaze end. I suspect Gonron might actually leave around the same time as Modulo, and there is a shorter period between these next two batches than usual to suit Modulo’s schedule.

I guess someone here is interested in one of the one shots from this issue of Jump Giga. Man, i wonder why? Could't possibly make sense as to why though.

All jokes aside, glad you are enjoying them defensor. Not going to lie, legit thought of you might have said something about Benkei and then i relized Hiyashi's one shot and knew you would say something. Just did not expect it do be so soon.

Don't worry, it's being worked on. I'll share it when it's ready.
I'm also liking Brass Bone & Neon Satan Generation a lot.
I can back that claim for Anubis. We know the person who is translating it. But it will take time.

Iikagen Kizuke by Komi Naoshi (One Shot)
I'm split on 50/50 with this one shot, it doesn't seem to be anything bad, just pretty standard romcom, literally nothing makes it shine compared to other romcoms, i remember Naoshi one shots usually being pretty interesting, even Nisekoi one shot was pretty interesting for the time, maybe Naoshi being MIA this long took a tool in his creativity because this looks just more of the same in the sea of romcoms, his art at still good but i also feel like is slightly different, maybe it's him working fully digital.

I hope he return soon but he will definitely need something more interesting than this to survive.

He would instantly be the best artist in the magazine with this. lol Both leads are likeable and pretty and Kaname seems to be more of a POV character than the usual Jump love comedy heroine. That's enough to publish it over another bland battle manga that isn't even good looking. Do people really not care about art?

I need it translated to get the full understanding of what’s going on, but it just feels too similar by comparison to Hima-Ten! for some reason. The lead female feels pretty close to Himari 2.0.

Himaten was literally a Nisekoi clone for a while lol.
Honestly, I don't see it. Nisekoi was always way more over the top with the mafia stuff, Tsugumi shenanigans, Marika being basically chaos incarnate. Himaten is way more grounded in terms of comedy and there's no mystery aspects like Nisekoi.

How so? She's in love with the MC from the beginning and her issue is having him notice it and not knowing how to tell him the truth. Himari didn't even like Tenichi at the beginning, being more of a tsundere.
