After thinking a bit and realizing that usually the names of series are pretty self explanatory, I’m going to hedge my bets on under doctor being about an underworld doctor. And so I bet there’ll be some clear mob threat or something.

Which is why I’m going to be bold and predict that 2/3 of these series will be mega successes and bring back the golden age of jump.
But in all seriousness, I think a big problem is people are watching established series slowly fade, and then they’re not exactly being replaced by big hits. 2026 will probably end with every 200+ chapter series besides Roboco and Akane being over. And so unless an upcoming series is being made by a veteran, it’s forecast to be another flop.
I feel like these are usually overblown

2022
Lost: Dr. Stone & Ayakashi Triangle
Gained: Akane-Banashi & Ruri Dragon (Kinda)

2023
Lost: Mashle & Black Clover
Gained: Kill Blue (Shortwhile) & Nue & Kagurabachi

2024
Lost: My Hero Academia & Jujutsu Kaisen
Gained: Chojo (Short-term) & Kyoshi & Hima-ten (for now) & Ichi & Shinobi

2025
Lost: Yozakura & Undead Unluck (And sort of Chojo and Kill Blue)
Gained: JJK Modulo (short-term) & Someone Hertz

In my opinion of course, I feel like we got some good trade-offs

Dr. Stone > Ruri
Black Clover > Kagurabachi
MHA > Ichi
Yoza & UU > Modulo & Someone Hertz

My only true agreement to the doomposting would be 2024 saw two huge losses but only Ichi is a CLEAR frontrunner in the magazine. Nevertheless, I don't personally agree with the sentiment that established series are ending with nothing replacing them. Sure the established series sell better and such but they also usually end with years of serialization and an anime. Will Kagurabachi be bigger than Black Clover? I think/hope so and I'm a huge fan of Black Clover. But only time can tell

Tanimoto Kiyou, apparently he changed his penname and he used to be Tanimoto Tatsuya with a bunch of one shots through the years:

Now having more examples to see, I am a lot more onboard with Tanimoto Kyou, even though I think the premise leads itself to fail lol. Also being a Horikoshi assistant lmao

Yeah but then like I said, 2026 is going to most likely result in losing:
Elusive samurai, modulo, blue box, witch watch, and maybe sakamoto days. And because 2024-2026 really only has hertz and ichi as standout hits, I think people are getting antsy for like big returns or big successes.

Well first, I don't see Witch Watch ending till next year and prob Sakamoto too. And since Modulo is a naturally short series, you really only lose TES and BB, which is pretty on track (2 series usually end a year on average)

As well, we also both have no idea what's coming this year lol. For all we know Gotouge comes back with Demon Slayer 2: Electric Boogaloo and all of a sudden the magazine is saved lol. Point being, you're worrying about things ending months from now when months from now the magazine could be competitive again with 2-3 good rounds

It's just me or like everybody is a former Horikoshi assistant? :grin
and if everyone is a former horikoshi assistant, everyone is inspired by naruto, so it's logical to say naruto is the most influential media that has ever existed :super :\m/

1) Under Doctor: if it's like a Shokugeki no Souma with Doctors it might work, but I'm not hopeful

2) Kaigeki no Kinato: 0 hope for it, seems and looks generic just like his previous work

3) Alien Butthead: if it's a rugby series I will find it interesting, but Rugby Rumble from Manga+ was amazing IMO but it eventually got axed. I don't think there's a high demand for rugby manga.

Oh no, I’m not really worrying about most of this, I kinda want to see a world where jump has to treat Kiyoshi, Himaten and nue like headliners lol. But on the point of witch watch, the biggest serious arc before this was 20ish chapters, and currently this one has just jumped to setting up the fights. So I just can’t see it lasting into 2027 ngl.

Even if I don't like all these series Jump should promote the series they keep around tbh but that's a different discussion

And yeah, Witch Watch is def wrapping up but I just think its got enough legs to basically make it to its 6th anni

In regards to what is ending, it is for sure Otr, Harukaze and then Elusive.

Hima-ten is not ending right now, but maybe in the next batch or the next.

Gonron will for sure be U19ed. Hero Girl maybe. Let's see how they do it. At least Gonron ending will probably be tied to HxH returning.

When do hou think Gonron and the next ones will end? Which are the ones?

I’m not too confident in calling hero girl or mage flops until we see this week’s toc. But at the very least I see March being modulo/gonron/some third series, and it being 2 in + hxh return (for modulo). Even if both are flops too, I can see a world where the less floppy one is given until June, just because I doubt they expected this many series to land so poorly.

Oh, yes, March for Modulo makes sense. Some 6/7 more chapters for Gonron too (could be less IMO). The other one is a mystery to me. Maybe just one new series + HxH?

If Amemiya is doing another basic battle manga with a boring MC after the more unique onsen oneshot was way better received than Shadow Eliminators, he's either crazy or the editorial is highly incompetent.

No see this time the protagonist is deku tho. He’s clearly evolving in his style, going from the concept of “people like exorcist series, right?” to this revolutionary concept of “people liked deku, right?”. I mean it worked out for other series, I don’t know why more people haven’t tried this.

Is it really that surprising Ichi’s THIS big? Ichi’s just another in the chain of succession of massively successful Jump manga. Naruto—>MHA—>Ichi.

It's just me or like everybody is a former Horikoshi assistant? :grin
Shouldn’t be surprising. I consider him to be the more influential one between him and Gege.

oh good to know you lil bro, see you in 2037 in your third try
*snorts* It is either reassuring to have your mentor as an example of perseverance, or discouraging to know even he took that many tries before he became a global hit.

As much as Gonron is dead, it is worth noting that among the instanly-axed series getting U19’d isn’t really a matter of performance, moreso just hinges on the timing of batches. Neither Nice Prison or Yokai Buster Murakami were U19’d, whereas we just saw 3 series get U18’d, all of which were overall deemed varying degrees of better than the previously mentioned 2.

Interested in Under Doctor, cool design and medical battle shounen is definitely something different, unless i forgot someone is the first medical/medicine battle shounen since Asklepios in 2008! 18 years later lol

Kento Amemiya is back and it definitely looks like a Kento Amemiya series lmao! But i'm look forward, his art is great and i'm sure @SharkBait will be the number 1 fan in the thread :grin

Alien Headbutt i think is definitely not a battle shounen but either a comedy or contact sport series
Dark Doctor Ikiru in J+ was pretty close as it gets tbh, I kinda liked it but it definitely got axed for a reason. I can imagine Under Doctor will be similar tbh, not confident on the premise but as usual I'll give all 3 a fair chance till the end as per my rules
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I mean they brought back the guys who made “candy flurry”, and somehow they produced a hit. So I don’t blame them for giving second chances.
he was pretty bad but I really did like his art, it's got some appeal and I think could cook but probably with a writer in a duo combo
