Kinato is like a narou series, these fantasy & magic light novels or web series with super long names and about a mc that isn't the typical adventurer or badass magic user and etc or isekai series. There many "Jump elitists" kind of readers in jp forums that hate or act like the series isn't worth to be on Shonen Jump, these people don't really have any power in the survey results tho.
A little more power than any of us tbh

If Jump had a sort of "dislike vote" in the surveys, maybe, but in the end the only thing these people online can do is to not vote in the series which if flops for Jump will only means the series isn't interesting for readers in general, not that anyone has a specific problem with being a narou series.

Did that, then there could be negative organized downturned voting.

I'll forget every so often we're getting KyoAni Ruri and then remember and get excited all over again :hee
Guy has balanced karma.

Got hit by bad health problem. But his 1st serialization was instant mega hit, and got animated by THE KyoAni

Isn't it the first time KyoAni adapts something from Shueisha?

A part of me still can't believe this is happening
I forgot that Ruri was getting an anime. It is so popular that it's hard not to try to profit on it already, even though the schedule is still erratic. I hope the author gets healthy. I am not a huge fan of it, though, but at least it's leading to some more lore now.

sometimes this is what it feels like in here LOL
I love deciphering vagueposting!
Okay so the slow nachos could be any number of recent series that spent too many chapters building its world and died. The too-fast nachos is probably Alien Headbutt, which did practically zero worldbuilding and just went straight to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. The nachos that taste like somebody else's nachos is almost certainly Kinato, and the too-different nachos are, uhh, idk Akane I guess? Seems like the most antithetical Jump series right now but there's not much discourse around it so I'm not sure on that one.

EDIT: Maybe it's Under Doctor, on second thought.

There's also the classic which is how west loves to dickride battle shounen while also hating them for actually being a battle shounen lol
The issue with some of these posts is acting like the readers are demanding these series to follow a formula for Jump success, as if it's something that exists, and not understanding that ALL series are literally bets from the editors.

Alien Headbutt? They probably wanted to try a battle manga with basically no downtime. In hindsight now we understand that there aren't enough readers that want that and they need at least a little bit of plot to care about the characters. Sakamoto Days has a ton of fighting, but started with more comedy and lower scale battles so people could care about the characters.

Kinato, they probably just wanted to try another guild based fantasy manga because it's a popular genre that does well on other shounen magazines. Jump readers saw it as too mundane and liked the comedy bits more than the action. It happens, no one knows what will work and different readers like different things.

There's criticism to be made about the editors failing in many areas, like not guiding the authors better or some weird picks (approving Gonron before noticing the author couldn't handle a weekly serialization) but it's their job to try new stuff and see what sticks. Not enough people understand that this is how Jump worked for decades. Torishima didn't really believe in One Piece and it was the third in its batch, JOKER was the first one before Takeshi and One Peice. lol

It's crazy to see some of them thinking mangaplus readers should be dictating what goes in the magazine. It would fill Jump with 3~4k selling battle manga with "potential" that never is unlocked and alienate the people actually buying the magazines.

I really don’t understand the Alien Headbutt hype in the west. It’s been nonstop fights since chapter 1. this manga is literally just only “Hype moments and aura”.
