Kagurabachi anime looks great but I can't help but feel annoyed that we've seen more footage from it than Chojo which is 5 months out

Considering Chojo was cancelled several weeks before the anime announcement, I can't imagine there's too much money being put into it. It being animated at all is strange, it did get ch 10-12 in the top 5 but it quickly dropped after and was already hitting the bottom 5 most issues past ch 20.

It feels like it's being animated by accident.

Hero Destroyerz ch 2 sucked, most of it was poopoo HAHAHA! toilet HAHAHA! poopoo toilet HAHAHA! I really hope Sorachi has more planned for this than an entire series of laughing at the word toilet, since it's guaranteed to stick around for at least a little while.

It's funny, I never thought I'd be feeling nostalgic about specific criticisms for series, but this is the exact same shit that people used to say about Gintama back in the day. That it wasn't actually funny cause all the jokes are just poop, and references, and more poop. Tbh they were kinda right sometimes, there are arcs of Gintama where the joke is just toilet humor or very specific references for a while and it can be a bit draining when those go on for too long but usually it would get back on track pretty quickly.

We don't know when it got greenlighted but they definitely saw at the very least the online popularity and took that when deciding it to go forward with the anime.

I don't think anyone would be that surprised if Hima already ends naturally this year, now imagine still going in 2028, and for Kiyoshi, there's no way Jump will wait 4 years to give a 10k/12k seller a anime lol

Yeah I said it in his replies, but considering Sakamoto and Akane's announcements were at 168 and 170 respectively, that would place the announcements for Himaten/Kiyoshi in late '27. And then I'd bet on an Ichi announcement this time next year, and a Shinobi one in fall '27, right around the third anni. Which finally leaves Kiyoshi with a Jump festa announcement or something. Both will probably get an anime, by "small" studios. But they need to have producers come to them to make the deal happen.

What I want to say is that there are a lot of interesting things happening in the anime field, with producers making their own studio and other things, and that they need projects, but they can't fight for the big ones because they are small studios, but they want a brand to be able to catch viewers attention, so they'll ask for 10/12k sellers with the jump brand.

I think other better sellers from other mags don't automatically get anime, right?(This one is interesting, seriously, I'd like the numbers, like how much are selling the manga that get an anime in other mags? Dandelion didn't sell anything. It was just the author and henshuubu brand that made the deal possible IMHO)

Netflix will want them surely, and other subscription services will too. Producing contents to just binge watching.

More anime, of so-so quality maybe because there are not enough good animators/sakkan/directors able to make high level anime and maybe not enough funding to attract the good ones.

We'll see.

I don't read so I wouldn't know, but I'd lean on Jump festa yeah. Just because it took Blue Box 2.5 years for its announcement, and Himaten is no Blue Box.

Might not be helpful to say but I wanna say at the very least it should be getting a trailer by the end of the year at this rate. With the likely cover for the anniversary coming up that probably means they wouldn’t announce it’s anniversary too quick, so maybe more around fall time since I don’t think anime announcements get revealed at Jump festa too much, maybe like 1-2 months before.

On the other hand, as much as not getting an anniversary cover might sound like a terrible thing (and is still not good because it definitely should get a cover for both the anniversary and the anime), if they end up skipping the 3rd anni cover that could be a sign that they intend on doing the anime cover sooner in the year, since they are allergic to making Nue covers, let alone 2 in a short period of time.

Point is, if it gets an anniversary cover the good takeaway is Nue getting multiple covers, and if it doesn’t get that then the good takeaway is the anime cover being closer on the horizon. Sure there are negative things to dwell on with both of those outcomes but either way it should be absolutely impossible to not have a Nue cover some time this year at this rate. That is the hope I’m willing to stake.
