I for one am glad that jump is actually doing this, I've been saying for a while that he's clearly struggling, and needs to be given a break. Hopefully he returns with the 3 on -- one off schedule that Horikoshi/Gege/Oda have had. They had gege actively burn himself out back during JJK's serialization, and so I'm glad they're trying to prevent something like that from happening again.

Although like, idk. Maybe this is just my own experience with the bachi fanbase, but a significant contingent were in denial about how hokazono was clearly struggling for the past year??? Like even that stretch where the chapters were blatantly unfinished were explained away by him having "more work than usual", when it was the same amount of work he had during every other volume launch. Is it some sort of pride thing, that he's actually some manga making machine, and not a fallible human, who was being pushed past his limits for the past year? Sorry for this rant at the end, but its just been bugging me. Its so weird that in defense of him people were pretending that he didn't need breaks, and all of recent breaks + unfinished art have been not health related, and instead some secret other thing that is exclusive to hokazono and hokazono alone.

Oh no, you do bring a very solid argument that should be made regarding these artists needing to take breaks.

I doubt it, since WSJ seems allergic to that kind of overtly biweekly schedule and would rather incur occasional big hiatuses like this occasionally. What the other have mentioned about a schedule similar to Oda’s for One Piece might be more feasible depending on how generous Saito is feeling.

The break is just them punishing Hakazono with a suspension for using up all of the black ink in the offices for the latest chapter.

But seriously, I wish him well. I agree with the other comments here that he was clearly struggling for a while now and he should be put on that Oda type "3 chapters, 1 week break" type schedule.

Actually, I think all the authors should be on a kind of rotating schedule like this, but hey.

Kagurabachi will be on Hiatus.
So Hunter x Hunter is releasing a new volume in July while Kagurabachi will go on hiatus at the end of June leaving a free space in the magazine until around August? Yeah that actually seems well planned 👍

If is included in this week issue they did because they know we would leak it tomorrow, they did the same few weeks ago when Kgb had a sudden break, announcing literally just a few hours before leaks :grin

Hokazono hasn't accomplished much as Oda so I don't think he'll be "qualified" to get the oda treatment, however, a RuriDragon-type move would be good for him.

Hopefully the Bachi hiatus would give Saito a good incentive to focus on the newer series & give them a bit more attention...

Well, lets just wait for ir, then.

Maybe he will focus on Ichi the Witch. That series really is lacking his attention.

I'd get it if it was like a ichi or hertz or shinobi hiatus but like kagurabachi? The series that is consistently a mid to low ranker on the toc? Kagurabachi? The series that barely gets color pages? What pushing (within the magazine) is it getting over other series, that can now somehow be given to a different series lol.

Don't you think all of that is the reason behind the hiatus? I mean, he clearly doesn't get color pages because he isn't able to do those.

I mean yeah, I said that kind of stuff in an earlier message.
I just find the notion of "now saito can push different series" kind of absurd, as for as big as the series is outside of the magazine, you wouldn't really know that as an active reader. Like I said, it consistently is a mid ranker in the toc and it basically only gets color pages now for big events. I'd compare it to something like witch watch or (rip) elusive samurai. Its the series like shinobi/ichi/hertz that are getting constant color pages and high toc placements. And so, what can saito really do to push newer series instead of kagurabachi (when he wasn't really in the first place).

I remember Masanori Morita mentioning on his twitter that when he was struggling to keep up with the schedule while writing Beshari Gurashi he asked if he could do bi weekly and they just told him “Jump is a weekly magazine ”
