The Ultimate Theory: The Knights of The Holy Grail.
Just like The Seven Deadly Sins and The Four Knights of The Apocalypse, The Knights of the Holy Grail were born and titled through a prophecy for a specific purpose.
That purpose is to merge their unique blood with Arthur's blood to complete the Holy Grail meant to kill Cath.
This is because Arthur's blood alone can negate standard Chaos protection, but it remains completely useless against Cath as we have already seen in the prequel :
1. The "Plot Hole" Debunked: Arthur’s Fatal Oversight
Many fans called it a plot hole when Arthur claimed that his blood could kill Cath Palug. They pointed out that Arthur already tried to kill Cath in the original series, and it completely failed.
However, this is not a writing error by Nakaba Suzuki; it is a character oversight by Arthur. Arthur simply underestimated Cath’s true nature. Cath described himself as a literal "cancer" to Arthur, making him entirely immune to Arthur’s power even if Arthur's power can negate Chaos's power but sadly it can't do the same to Cath as he has already tried in the prequel.
2. Deconstructing the Original Timeline: The Defeat at 18 vs. The Victory at 25
Because Arthur's blood alone is ineffective against Cath, the 4KOTA 100% failed to kill Cath at age 18 in the original timeline, leading to the tragic destruction of Liones among other bad things.
Instead, the 4KOTA defeated Cath much later, around the age of 25. We know this because:
The significance of age 25 matches the exact timeline required for the prophecised Knights of The Holy Grail to be born. Galahad, the youngest of the prophesied Knights of the Holy Grail, was just born around this time.
The core mechanics of the blood within the holy grail works like this:
4. The True Purpose of The Knights of the Holy Grail Arc
This explains exactly why Nakaba introduced the Knights of the Holy Grail in this specific arc and sent them back to the past.
They were not just sent back to fight; they were sent to provide their blood ahead of schedule but they don't know that . By giving their blood to their parents early, they can "fix" and complete the Holy Grail in this timeline. This will allow the 4KOTA to successfully kill Cath at age 18, preventing the original timeline's tragic events from happening again.
5. Arthurian Legend Parallel : Why The Blood of The Knights of The Holy Grail Negates Cath's Power
Why is the blood of the Knights of the Holy Grail specifically capable of negating Cath's protection? The answer lies directly in real-world Arthurian legends.

Instead, the 4KOTA defeated Cath much later, around the age of 25. We know this because:
- Guinevere heavily implied that Lancelot would not start working for Camelot and making a name for himself under a "certain king" until he was 23.
- Galahad explicitly stated that in the future, the 4KOTA are known as the "Heroes of Camelot," not the heroes of Liones , a title they would have earned had they fulfilled their prophecy when they were working for Liones so they must have fulfilled their prophecy when they were working for Camelot instea , not Liones.

The core mechanics of the blood within the holy grail works like this:
- Arthur’s Blood: Can negate Chaos protection, but cannot negate Cath's power.
- The Knights of The Holy Grail's Blood: Specifically negates Cath's anti-Arthur immunity for some reason.

- The Arthurian Legend Lore: In Arthurian legend, the specific knights chosen to find the Holy Grail had to be entirely pure and sinless (most notably Galahad).
- The Manga Parallel: In The Seven Deadly Sins lore, Cath Palug is the ultimate embodiment of malice.
