Discussion Reaching the top of the Tower

How hard do you think it is? I used to think that if the Great Warriors were to climb again they would reach it in no time but with all the reveals from the spin-off(creatures and other beings sealed) + the Red Dump I am not sure anymore.

It looks like the Zahard Empire is "stable" because they removed all the biggest threats.

It's been said multiple times, GWs were so afraid of Ancients, thyrssas that they had to seal them because of their danger. It's given they would pose a tremendous threat only if IC is void.

I have so many unfinished paragraphs addressing TOG lore in my notes. Lol, Yea they include some of the ideas you are mentioning.

The 13 GW were special & strong. They faced challenges, & I believe as they became corrupted; Forces, individuals etc that they feared, contended against, was against them. They either killed off or sealed. That also leads me to believe they just aren’t all powerful, they monopolized power. There may be just a few forces capable of growing similarly strong…..Machines, Plants, 1st Human, Ancients, etc etc

I imagine the great climb was significantly more difficult than the current, curated for mass consumption version. We saw that one test against the robots and the great warriors had to chose between passing the test and saving hundreds or thousands of people. Even the test which bam took at the second floor directly from the administrator didn't have stakes that high. We also traumerei during enkido's flashback defeating and destroying ancient creatures.

I also suspect that once the family heads decided to start families and take over civilization in the tower basically they got rid of ancient creatures so that the empire could happen throughout the tower. If the purple bari was found to be troublesome even by eduan then I'd imagine even regent types wouldn't be able to defeat it. Getting rid of the strongest creatures would be a sort of prerequisite for children of the great warriors to be able to control and rule floors.

I can't remember where but Baam said to Rachel that he made a dream about throwing a great montain close to the cave and it was easy.

I still have a feeling that GWs were convinced of not climbing to the top, not because of the difficulties of ascending floor by floor.

I think they stopped climbing because they didn't want to kill all their new friends by ending the tower and they sealed away anything another irregular could use to finish the climb. I bet there's only one floor left and it's the one above Zahard's floor.

That's fair, though I do wonder how much we can trust what we know of Arlene's motives since we only hear about her through the mouths of of people who are still around and have their own biases.

i have trouble thinking of why Zahard and the family heads would go to the trouble of creating the whole regular system if their motivation wasn't at least partly being fond of towerborns. If they genuinely stopped climbing purely because the next floor wasn't doable for them somehow the regular system doesn't really benefit anyone because we know towerborns can never be as strong as irregulars so it just makes some towerborns into slightly larger fish in their tiny pond.

The main thing seems to be that Zahard changed. He went from adventurer loving challenges and the unknown to king mindset who wants to settle down. Most agreed with this because something tragic happened and they were weary? There are still plenty of Towerborns who wanted to keep climbing including Traumerei's girlfriend.

I don't think it's like they were afraid.
Careful yes!
If all of them (thryssas,ancients,native etc etc) were to band together against them, it would be tough for the empire forces and likely they would struggle (casuality wise)

Also as per prophecy, they are also waiting for V. So there's that angle as well + a poosible motive to seal these beings.

I just recently watched D gray man anime after watching it once a long time ago and caught up with the manga. Allen and baam share similarities among themselves. Also sachi's design was most likely inspired from Lavi's.
