Looks like we’re of the same mind. The English played negative football throughout the whole match which made for an eyesore. I’d take Argentina over this any day.

Great shot by Alvarez though! Bonus points for being identical to Lopes-Cabral’s (CV) goal. Although my vote would go to Lopes-Cabral for goal of the tournament, I have a feeling Alvarez’s will win this one.

So the road to this was full of mistakes, but I accurately predicted the final 4 teams and who plays who. Not bad.

I had Spain beating France, England beating Argentina, then in finals Spain beating England.

I know, FIFA tweeted about it. The zoomed in video I found might not be viewable everywhere but I think it clearly shows redirection of the ball to some degree. Somehow that sensor can pick up Croatian hair but not that? Idk lmao

I'm purely talking about procedure here - according to Mark Clattenburg in order for the ref to remove Paredes yellow, he had to give it to Embolo. This is just bad procedure because in situations where a dive is a bit less obvious, it'd be way too unfair. A ref shouldn't need to give a card to anyone in these situations, it should depend entirely on whether the offense deserves it on its own. In other words, he probably wouldn't have been booked for diving at all if the ref hadn't fucked up an booked Parades first. That's just stupid IMO.

I'm... still unconvinced lol. The ball has been very fucky all tournament and been very hard for keepers to read its erratic movements (like a Jabulani lite). Extremely unfortunate for Norway if it did happen though...

Those are not accurate at all yeah.

The sensor should still work at that height tbh unless it's using technology from like 20 years ago.
