#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

I personally still expect HxH to only run 10 chapters here with Kagurabachi returning afterwards, but it'll return fairly soon. My initial thought was after Sakamoto Days, but if Bleach is apparently replacing it then maybe HxH will replace Witch Watch if it ends early next year.

Or perhaps it could even replace Bleach? I could see Bleach doing a World Trigger and returning to Jump for a few chapters (like the full set up to the arc) to promote it before switching over to Jump SQ or something for the more forgiving schedule.

Such a lame and anticlimactic ending to this Kinato arc shit just felt super rushed. I really don’t know how much time this series has left.

I enjoyed Blue Box throughout but I also feel like it's not a series that'll especially stick with me? Like there's no major issues with it (maybe Hina being somewhat poorly handled) but overall it's a normal romance series. Different within Jump in terms of atmosphere, but, for good or bad, there's not, like, an arc or a stretch that'll make it stick in my memory or anything like how Nisekoi completely went to crap in the last 40 chapters or how WNL's last 40 chapters gave a full volume ending to each girl.

It feels weird having both Blue Box and Himaten gone at once. We've still got Someone Hertz partially filling the romcom niche so it's not like they're totally devoid of the genre like the couple years between To Love Ru ending and Nisekoi starting, but it would be nice to get a new more dedicated hit (since Hertz is primarily focused on the comedy slice of life and the radio stuff).

So by the start of next batch Kagurabachi should be back, but I think we’ll see Sakamoto days, Kinato, and drawn to the flame end. They all seem to be setting up and ending. With those three series out (and potentially a 4th depending on if HxH does 10 chapters or 20) we should see a batch of 3 or 4 new series with Bleach likely being one.

Issue 33:

1. Hunter x Hunter
It's rare for a story to feel like a huge line of dominos ready to fall. Some stories do build their structures like this, but I don't think I ever felt similar before because of the real time experience of following this arc for years instead of getting the story in full like in a visual novel or book. This chapter felt huge with Benjamin deciding to lit the fire in this ship full of gunpowder. It has the weight of a decade of the Contest.

2. Nue's Exorcist
Following on the idea of recent chapter of this being a New Beginning to Gakuro, this chapter integrates the school and Zenno's figure really well to showcase how much our hero grew, but how it's still about these common life experiences. Well done parallels will always win me over. Same for the scene with Nue being the only one standing away from the squad showing how this arc is about saving her, similar to the previous heroines and Gakuro himself at the first chapter. Kawae just gets Friendship, Effort and Victory in a way I don't see other new authors getting it.

3. Ruri Dragon
While Shindo is a master at slice of life, it's amusing to see how he's just insanely talented all around. This is such a fun battle and both Ruri and the reader can feel the freedom of letting her go all out with her powers. More than just being a battle, it's a way for both of these dragons to de-stress, it clicks and gives form to all the repressed feelings from the daily experiences Ruri had.

4. Animal Signal
Tsunderes are at their cutest when getting praised and not knowing how to react to it.

5. Roku
I'm surprised by how well he handles these chapters with the full group now, working on the characters individually allows the gags to not be overexplained and hit harder. We know he's an arrogante vampire, so he can just be pissed off all the time at the generalizations, etc. Another good chapter of this good comedy manga.

As for Blue Box. Last few chapters were better than usual, but this one is flat: repeated ideas, overusing the title, nothing new from the characters. That said, it's still overall a decent series, even if not one of my favorites as I think it falls in between the more comedy focused romcoms I like, but it's not serious or complex enough for the dramatic romances I also enjoy. That said, I'm glad a romance got to be a Jump pillar for a few years and the author praising how much it hits the jackpot in depicting youth as a temporary feeling are right, this what Blue Box did the best. Congrats to Miura, interested in what she can come up with next.

Huh? Everyone has expectations on what they'd like to see in Jump. We always see people saying "I'd like to see [insert any sport] in Jump!" or "I'd love a detective series" (just an example btw) So, would you say that to someone talking about any genre instead of BL?
Also, another point is that people like to see genres they love in Jump. Because it might create discussions, might be popular, etc. And many people only follow Jump, because it's easier, they don't have enough time to read somewhere else... So, it's cool to have genres you like in a mag you read.

Why not jump, bakudeku, sasunaru, ichigrim, tsukkihina so many classics and then we had blue flag even, might as well get it in jump especially since in modern times 1 in every seven people are gay so in a high school classroom there are about 2 to 3 people 🩷

Well, of course a "fluffy Shojo" can't be in Shonen Jump, but we def can have cute romances or SoL, even in a magazine for young boys (anyway, everyone read shonens and Jump nowadays, so it's not a problem at all)

Fujoshi/fudanshi's fantasies are very welcomed. lol And I agree for the percentage of gay people in a classroom. I would welcome a gay Jump hero without problem, but BL is very specific and I don't think it fits Jump editorial line.

I understand what you're saying. But I think Jump has its own identity. Editors say "bring us a Jump manga". It's not just a "shonen magazine". Actually, I think that's why they are struggling now, being too focused on what they think they want.

BTW, I love BL too. It's just that I don't see it in Jump. Jump is Jump. I'm an old fart, sorry.

Actually, I have some difficulties with Jump+ (they launched it as an extension of Jump if I remember well) editorial direction personally. They choose titles that are not "Jump" for me, more like Afternoon. But, their money, their choice. It seems to work and they get a lot of readers, so who cares?
