Ah thats nostalgic, I used to say the same thing and request mass claims.

Main problem is really that not everyone will follow and that mafia can still make a decent guess with their claims, sometimes hosts even provide some way for mafia to deal with it. Last game I feared d1 mass claims so mafia had the guess power that let them avoid doubleclaims.

Oh, and just to be sure, in my home community, there are role guessing evil roles. Their main role is to avoid everyone coming out and just open claiming their roles during d1, since that puts maf on the back foot and makes it harder to fakeclaim something coherent.

There doesn't seem to be one in the role list here, what, beyond the social contract of not doing so cause it's a bit lame for the poor maf, is preventing us from just... rolecalling right out the gate?

Not much. I liked Brandish so far but he's a hard one to catch as mafia. Not sure yet who to vote.

Iirc I'm fine with Style and Nash. Teub I didnt try thinking of the hint yet but haven't seen him as mafia yet to doubt. So thats a decent number of people crossed out atm.

Not a fan of us outing a doc d1 but I suppose its a relief that it wasn't an investigative role that Sty had instead.

I do read both Sty and Nash as town-y atm; for Teub I thought he was hinting in a particular direction with the song but then the gif threw me off. Like, a song about sexual frustrations is one thing but then the gif is just perplexing. Unless he meant button as a button for something else...

Holt only had the two posts yeah? I suppose the hints at least offer something more substantial than some of the others
Pige I feel good about, Marm I think I'm fine with too.

Kako I can agree felt a bit light on but I suppose he'll be more active towards the end of the phase. Hopefully the other inactives and Jimothy the no-show can give some engagement to evaluate.

I'm between Kako and Erin as my main considerations for my vote atm, although there's not much to go off of admittedly. I feel pretty good about Sty, Nash, Gry, Lawl, dd, Pige, and Teubs; of those, I think Sty, Nash, Teubs and Gry are the strongest green off of their play.

Brand and Marm I'm feeling slightly green on but unsure, and there's just not enough from the rest to properly evaluate yet.

But I *am* the hider so either evils have a way to circumnavigate roles like mine + samurai or town has whacky roles that are hard to protect.

If today comes down to a half assed/random lynch I will protect the people that read as town to me. You can tag on Gry to that list cause I like the way he built on his hint just now.

and then when Stylether got questioned about it, he claimed doctor. I mean, what are the chances he would be doc after "unintentionally" hinting quack ?
is that more probable than him being mafia and thinking they can just claim that role just to learn later that that role cannot be claimed ?

other than that, I was actually thinking about mass claiming when I was reading the thread since there are ppl who already claimed, but I guess grysun and sam are already against it, so idk. also idk if it would do us any favors, I personally would just vote whoever claims last or if someone got counter claimed, but that won't necessarily work. I guess you guys already tried it in other games, I personally never did so idk how it usually works out

Good to see Lawl back, hoping it's not short lived.

Generally like @Stylether's Start, seems really engaged with the game& here to mean business, it remains to see what "business" that is. Be it Nefarious or not.

I think it’s a bit unlikely that we have both the hider and the bodyguard role , might be wrong though. But someone claimed hider I think already would be either a blunder mafia move or it’s unlikely they put hider and samurai if he is actually the samurai

Curious that you read my first couple of posts and that's your takeaway.

You are aware that, considering only moments after I posted that duck, I ask the following question:

Is the Quack Doctor a sanity-variant of the Doctor or a seperate entity?

Meaning that, clearly, I already had my own hypothesis about whether this role is a sanity-variant.

Obviously, I'm not going to ascribe too much of a negative value to people having reads that I don't agree with this early on, but in the lens of 'Evils need to seed doubt about good players' it's interesting that you seem to be taking this in the direction of "what are the odds he unintentionally claimed quack" and not "what are the odds the doc saw quack doc and thought 'that looks like a sanity variant'".

Surely the mentality of "they added it for this game, so it gotta be in" doesn't serve us particularly well, considering last game not every role was used, especially when one of the revealed roles is a sanity variant. Surely, by that logic, whoever the doc might be could be assuming that they have to be the since it's new and all.

Also, for the record, I'll be active and sniffing, but I seriously and consistently struggle to really pick up on any sus on d1 without any hard data to go off of yet.

The only person I might be able to get a good read off is powertripping on a hider claim which... I'm just not touching rn.

Well would you agree it would be strange for someone to be a bodyguard in this game, the added roles can tell us something even if they arent in the game
