About Merlin, we had this panel in chapter 156 when Meliodas wished she was there.

Merlin is now in Liones. Will she find a way to solve their problems?

In the panel, there are three globes and a dragon. I wonder if they are connected to each of the KotA. Are they actually her plans for the kota, or they are tools she already posses?

I also wish the SD's end in CbL movie is finally addressed soon. I mean Merlin actively helped demon bros in defeating SD, both in the movie and in printed materials. Using her Aldan, she enveloped SD in a colorful aura right before her demise. Whatever happened there can be a key to bring Elizabeth back from her comatose state.

Why ? , what's in the new chapter that implies this ?
Arthur's armor, very similar to chapter 5, and Guinevere's vision.

Still no Lady of the Lake reaction.
It's part of the plan.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Training with the perils? What's that gonna do? Even if they kept their chaos, which they probably didn't, they wouldn't be proper training buddies for someone who needs to fight chaos lancelot.
If Tristan were to learn Beltreipe's style, it would be really cool to see him creating cuts of light and darkness, or combining both. He'll receive a longsword, just like Beltreipe, so Beltreipe can teach him to create magical cuts, and Tristan can perfect it in his own unique style.

Ironside can teach spiritual arts to Percival.

And Worreldane can teach forbidden spells to Gawain.

As for Pellegarde, I don't know. lol

I think the objects and the dragon we see in the picture were somewhat hidden symbolism at the time for Gawain and her creation. And in a way Merlin already contributed to helping solve the problem as far as that is possible for her. And that key was and is Gawain.

We see chains, a dragon, a sun orb, a crystal ball, and a fleshy ball. The sun orb symbolizes Escanor's essence. The flesh orb symbolizes the homunculus body. The crystal ball is Aldan, Merlins Sacred Treasure which symbolizes magic. The dragon is the symbol of the Pendragon family, it is the stand-in for Arthur, the king of Chaos, and Merlin likely used said power of chaos to help in making Gawain. The chains symbolize links. All of the things in the picture linked together helped creating Gawain. And without Gawain they would have never made it to the tower and gotten Arthur's grail and blood which will in turn be used to excize Chaos from Lancelot and finally help defeating Cath for good.

Pellegarde is a strong brawler, arguably the physically strongest of the 4 Perils and his fire magic if used to its fullest is devastating as hell. It may come as a surprise but I think Pelle could be a good partner for Tristan, too. He can help him up his endurance. Tristan still needs to get that demon power of his under control, especially its defense properties (which he didn't even fully comprehend during the tournament as we have seen). Pellegarde setting our Tristy-boy on fire and beating the shit out of him is very good endurance training. :teehee

I think the vision changed just because of an artistic choice by Nakaba , he simply changed Carthur clothes , I think that was clearly Carthur with the four perils behind him facing the sins , which is the fight that we had earlier between them.

The 3KOTA already beat the Four Evils before they entered their Hyper Chaos forms.

Now that these Four Evils are no longer buffed by Chaos, what can they possibly do to train the 4KOTA?

Also, are we forgetting that Ironside killed his own father? This guy is completely beyond redemption.

Also this Idea that Lancelot is above the gods or Chaos makes no sense in practice , let alone plot-wise otherwise he can't be beaten.

I mean sure he has Infinite Magic but the problem is that he can't make use of that Magic without a sacred treasure and that's how Lancelot can still be beaten.

Chaos Lancelot has no feats that puts him above the gods or even on their level and his power that's above them remains untapped because of lack of ST.

King and Diane's reaction would be terrifying of they see Worrel among the allies. Perhaps the time she spends with Gawain leads to Llywarch's adoption. Her true child or the pinnacle of her creation.

Ironside can control Percival using his magic, but can't teach him anything. It seems some of us can't think. Will Ironside finally tell us the magic abilities of Varghese' helmet and cape?

Lancelot destroyed the whole Cathmelot and it's remaining citizen including his master and is gonna destroy all the worlds for Guin's sake as we speak right now. And we know he will be known as a hero in the future. But suddenly, what Ironside did out of loyalty for who he knew as Arthur and for the sake of his only son is so unforgivable, talk about double standards. Those who hate Ironside should know that there's a criminal among the titular characters.

NnT and its sequel have always been about questionable decisions made by gray characters from the get go. But people have a tendency to neglect some atrocities done by the likes of Lancelot or Zeldoris or several other characters while developing personal grudge against Merlin, Jeri, Ironside, and more.

They are all the same. Good or bad, sense or nonsense, they are all in the same category.

As a Gawain fan, I love such a strong focus on Gawain, but her role can't be that important. She was necessary for finding Merlin and Arthur, that was all.

I still agree that your take on the symbols works well. Various steps in creation of Gawain, the artificial child.

But we can look at them from various other angles. Like what if the crystal orb on the top is a reference to the moon? Sun for Gawain. Dragon (with a long history of relevance to Meliodas in Tattoo, Sword, Covers, Purgatory form) for Tristan, Moon for Lancelot, and Flesh for the Life spirit?

Or the orb is in fact Aldan. The Sun is the result of Merlin's experiments on Escanor. She's used it in creation of Gowther's bomb and Gawain's life. The Flesh orb is from studying Arthur's Chaos, and the dragon is about her knowledge of forbidden spells and ancient monsters.

Or the Sun for Light, Dark crystal orb for darkness, Flesh for their perfect mix aka Chaos, and Dragon for powerhouses outside the dichotomy.

I know having high hopes always end in despair when Nakaba, the master of foreshadowing and a good creator of potentials is also the best in ruining them!! I still want to believe in the positive side of his abilities 😇

Ironside manifested that power when he went to his Hyper Chaos form , right now he doesn't have any Chaos left and the Cape was destroyed , I don't think the helmet has anything special but it would be nice if it has.

Lancelot is under Cath's possession , Ironside killed his father without being possessed , there's a huge difference and it's not like his father is as evil as the demon king , he was a good old man but he killed him.

I'm beginning to think that even if Cath had all the Chaos , he still won't be at the level of Chaos itself.

Because if we think about it , when Arthur had all of Chaos , he still had his arm eaten by Cath and he wasn't as nigh-omnipotent as he should have been.

So even if someone had all the powers of Chaos , that doesn't mean they're gonna be as strong as Chaos who created everything which btw was sealed by The Demon King and The Supreme Deity.

I think Nakaba simply retconned Ironside and Percy's origins.

At first, it was stated as fact that Ironside was Percy's father, but it turns out they aren't even biologically related.

Percy was actually raised by Varghese—making Varghese his adoptive father —even though Percy calls him "grandpa" due to the pre-retcon plot.

Because of this, Nakaba better not give Ironside and Percy a dramatic father-son moment.

It wouldn't make any sense; at this point, they might as well be adoptive brothers rather than father and son.

Chaos Lancelot > Cath with 100% Chaos.
Just remember Merlin's words:

"THEY MAY TRY TO TAKE ARTHUR'S CHAOTIC FORCE, BUT ONLY HE CAN BE ITS TRUE VESSEL."

She says this right after saying that if Cath takes Arthur's chaos, it will be the end of the world, but she still says it.

even if Cath managed to achieve 100% chaos Yes, he would be powerful, he could bring about the end of the world, but he is not King Arthur, he is not the true king of chaos.
What she says in practice is

Arthur chaos 100%> cath chaos 100%

We just don't know the difference in level between the two.

I don't think either Arthur with 100% Chaos or Cath with 100% Chaos is equal to Chaos itself. We saw how Arthur at 100% got his arm cut off and eaten by Cath, so having 100% of Chaos doesn't make Arthur invincible by default. He'll never be able to use this power to its true potential because he isn't Chaos.

Also , Cath doesn't just want the powers of Chaos , he also wants Arthur power to control it.

He had just received the power of chaos, so him losing his arm isn't a valid argument.

But maybe yeah:
Original Chaos> Arthur 100% chaos>cath 100% chaos.

Oh And Merlin also says:

"His blood dominates Chaos without being corrupted by it. ." (Original: その血は混沌に惑うことなく 混沌を支配する)

In other words, chaos is corrupt by nature?

Brooooooooooo

I have a theory about how the final battle against Cath Palug will actually trigger the awakening of the true final villain: Chaos itself.

I think we are going to see Cath swallow Arthur at some point after Cath leaves Lancelot's body.

This will lead to the final battle between Cath and the Four Knights of the Apocalypse.

During this fight, Cath will evolve into his newest and final form.

Eventually, the 4KOA will defeat Cath and successfully save Arthur from inside him.

However, things might not be as over as we think.

We know that Cath is the literal embodiment of the malice of Chaos. He possesses a unique, bizarre ability to devour Arthur’s body and absorb the powers of Chaos directly from him. No other being in the universe can do this.

But why would the embodiment of Chaos's malice have a specific power designed to consume its own master? It doesn't make sense—unless Chaos planned it from the very beginning.
  • The Theory: Chaos intentionally gave Cath this devouring ability.
  • The Goal: Chaos wants Cath to consume Arthur so that Chaos can gain total immunity to Arthur's power.
  • The Motive: Chaos does not want to be controlled by Arthur ; it wants to be the one in control.
Once Cath is killed, this "immunity" protocol will trigger, allowing Chaos to completely hijack and take control of Arthur's body, revealing itself as the final villain.

This setup perfectly explains a massive mystery in the timeline. According to Guinevere’s Kaleidoscope vision, Lancelot is prophesied to make a name for himself under the service of the King when he is 23 years old.

This is incredibly strange. You would expect Lancelot and the other Knights to become followers of King Arthur immediately after the main final battle when they are 19 years old. Why is there a 4-year gap?

If my theory holds true, Arthur will be completely possessed by Chaos after this final battle against Cath.

Arthur will only manage to break free, reclaim his mind, and finally found the true New Camelot when the Knights are 23—which is exactly when Lancelot and the others will finally become his official Knights.

Therefore, I think this manga will have a Part 3, which will most likely be the final part of the story. The 23-year-old timeline that Guinevere spoke about will just be the final timeskip, where we see the 4KoA working under Arthur as the official Knights of Camelot. Meanwhile, Part 3 itself will focus on the 4KoA when they are 19 years old—which is the same period when Lancelot kisses Guinevere for the first time.

I thought that Cath is the malice expelled from Chaos, and that if Cath dies, it reverts to being part of Chaos, and perhaps this will cause its awakening.

Do you realize Lancelot also has the Infinite Lake, the strongest magic power, probably like 90% of Chaos inside of him?

Lancelot is still the strongest even if let's says Arthur with 100% Chaos is stronger than Cath with 100% Chaos.

Ah, if Chaos's goal was the end of non-humans, if Lancelot exterminated them, then Chaos literally won.

Perhaps OG CHAOS could see the future, but the future will be changed and this will force him into action, because his pawn: Cath Palug, has failed.

The aspects of Chaos are created by Chaos but that doesn't mean they're expelled from it , Chaos created the demon king and the supreme deity but that doesn't mean it lost its dark and light nature.

Neither Cath or Arthur has matched Chaos itself at least in terms of creations.

Chaos has created the universe, stars, planets,, gods, all the races...etc
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Cath/Arthur best feat is a dimension that has to steal land to have real things and fake people.

And some control over time.

I believe Chaos simply wanted a vessel capable of containing it , and humans—specifically Arthur—proved to be the perfect match.

To cultivate this perfect vessel, Chaos had to force humanity’s evolution through conflict.

It purposefully allowed the other races to roam free on human land, driving humanity to evolve through endless war and survival.

We know this is likely the case because, in the Cursed by Light movie, Meliodas mentioned that the Demon King and the Supreme Deity were brainwashed into an endless conflict.

Since Chaos created them, it must have orchestrated this cycle on purpose to force humanity's growth.

Now that Chaos is gaining full control over its vessel, it no longer needs the other races in the human world, which explains why it wants to split the worlds and separate them forever.

But what does Chaos want after gaining control over Arthur ? , that remains to be seen because I have absolutely no Idea.

Cath is not like the gods; the gods are creations of the power of chaos, while the children must be fragments of it.

Link to the English version here.
Title of the next chapter: The footsteps of destruction

WSM will come out a day later than usually next week instead of just taking a break like other weekly magazines.

Volume 28 also came out, I'm working on the extras.

Why would Chaos want a vessel when it was doing perfectly fine without it prior to being sealed away ?
