I always assumed she gave them DS attributes and buffed them so Mira, Elfman, Erza, Laxus etc all got a boost in general.

This arc would be slightly better if Team Natsu with their buffs will fight Ignia in the final battle, like Acnologia vs 7DS or Hades vs Team Natsu. This is IF Ignia is indeed the final villain.

For me, 100 YQ dropped after the Labyrinth. Diabolos, since the beginning, was good, nearly on par with the original Manga.
After the Labyrinth, it seemed boring, just hype for one shot material and lot of mistakes.

I had some good reading until that, except for Grey who was the shadow of the original Manga.

100YQ stopped here for me, Vierness part and after looked like fillers with lot of mediocrities.

Just my opinion, of course. I have enough. I want it to stop soon. To be fair, we are miles from the original Manga I have fun to read, even today.

He just needed to draft and arrange he arcs well. Agree with you, he had a very solid start but once he thought of making the twist of siding Selene with humans was the mistake. That came too early. Labyrinth followed up well that it started to feel like the penultimate arc. Gold Owl was where you can see he's like, "oh i have no idea where to go with this," because now what can he do to top the last 2 arcs.

If Viernes's arc was introduced earlier, he could have just made Selene and Ignia the 2 final villains until Selene changed side. We don't need all these other villains to appear to provide absolute nothing, Diabolos had the best motive as villains anyway. Even White Faris, that seemed so ominous at the start turned out to be pointless. Maybe just have Ignia ally with Black Faris and Selene with White Faris. At this point, none of their goals are convincing. Ignia wants to just burn the world? Why did Elefseria seek to stop all the Dragon Gods since a hundred years ago? They haven't set anything in motion other than Ignia and Dogramag's partnership. And even after these 100 years like nothing is really definitive?

We're waiting 2 weeks for few chapters of slow progress, and after 3 chapters or so, some sort of hype and power up, followed by a oneshot the following week or Natsu who ends up just punching with bigger flames or Erza just slashing with bandage armor.

Chapter was okay. Only the pacing is bad but thats nothing new.

Would make sense if she enchanted everyone to get stronger. It doesn't make a difference is they have DS spells if they are not on the level of the CB.

I still hate it that Mashima doesn't use his characters anymore. FT has enough characters and in the past he used them much more often. Now he is only using the same ones. This was always one of FT's strongest things, now it's like the other shonens for me

Natsu being able to recharge infinitely inside the sun is really handy.

And if he can eat the flames—bam—he just makes them vanish.

Laxus had his soul stolen but just said "NO"—he simply bounced back, got a boost from Wendy, and returned to the fight.

Why were there images of Makarov, Mira, Ivan, and the others? Just a callback to the Fantasia arc?

So, the sun is going to crash down and burn everything, meaning everyone has to leave.

Meredy linked up with Happy, and I get the feeling there's a parallel here: just as Lucy received everyone's magic to fight Acnologia, Natsu will likely receive everyone's magic to defeat Ignia—even though he isn't having any trouble with him right now.

Levia hype just dropped. He even seemed more broken than Motherglare before, but now even Kirin seems relevant against him now that i know dragon forms are just like Piccolo giant form for CBs.

I think it is more of a 'found family' concept. Because I am not buying Laxus cares for Ivan. And Laxus considers Raijinshuu as his family too. And the Dreyars are his blood family.

Yeah it's a huge shame. 4 of the 5 dragon gods were basically filler, the fifth is little better at least so far, and it's absolutely demolished what was left of the series' already very shaky power scaling logic. Considering the alternative was a series that would now have been over for almost a full decade, and, given the poor reception to it's final part also probably long forgotten, I'm still somewhat glad we got it, but, in the end I don't know if it's done more damage than good to the franchise's overall outlook. At the end of the main series, Tataros was widely considered the last good arc of the story. Whilst I do think there's been some decent and entertaining stuff since, I do think most people would probably still say that's true today, almost 10 years later!

Considering the alternative was a series that would now have been over for almost a full decade, and, given the poor reception to it's final part also probably long forgotten, I'm still somewhat glad we got it, but, in the end I don't know if it's done more damage than good to the franchise's overall outlook. At the end of the main series, Tataros was widely considered the last good arc of the story. Whilst I do think there's been some decent and entertaining stuff since, I do think most people would probably still say that's true today, almost 10 years later!

Should've wrapped up the main series by Tartarus, Alverass should've never happened.

Either that, or reduce Spriggans to like 5 and have them go down in team battles, with casualties. Way too many of these guys, and most were one shot like flies. Zeref himself got scrubbed....

Yep really agree. GMG undermined a lot of what he'd previously established, especially making the guild feel more like the Tenrou group plus background characters that might get the odd line of dialogue. I hated when he started handing (Natsu in particular) loads of easy unearned wins, it's always a lot more satisfying having to work for it!

Looking back I'm still amazed given the setup on END & Mard's plan being to revive him, that it didn't just lead into a big final confrontation with maybe Zeref & Natsu on one side and the rest of the guild on the other. No need for a messy half baked war with very hazy objectives. I'm still amazed he admitted to largely making it up on the fly and not really having any overarching plan for the final part of the story. It did feel like it came completely out of nowhere, as there was nil setup on political relations between Ishgar and the other continents.

I still hold out a tiny little bit of hope there might be something from Ignia, but I don't even know what. Something memorable or cool, or something that calls back to the original series in a neat way, or a memory of Igneel that shows him in a slightly different light, or just something so he's not just another ridiculously strong punching bag for Natsu at this point.

I'd take it, though it would have to be better writing quality than 100YQ or what's the point, really? It would be too easy for it to be more of the same but moved up to god scale from dragon, and if there's no interesting plot twists, a sense of progression and growth, and importantly the reimposition of some sort of sanity to power scaling so it all means something, it's just more Alvarez-100YQ badly choreographed fight scenes strung between a basic travelogue and a few panels of flavour text for the 'mission'.
