Obviously, Ivan betrays Eraser; he just wanted to get rid of a rival.
Ivan tries to play the "father figure" card, claiming he put him in that room to prevent a collapse—never mind the others. Did they really think the rest of the guild wouldn't show up to help Laxus?
Eraser gets one-shotted, even though he has the ability to erase distances; instead, he lets Natsu and Laxus get close.
Anyway, for the final chapter, I have a feeling Ivan will be at the parade, lurking in a corner and having a quick chat with Makarov.

Laxus is treated in same way as in 100yq, Stands around doing nothing (or talking), once in awhile punches a guy. He's gonna save Natsu from Bestia, no he saves himself, Natsu is knocked out so he must take care of Alderon, no Natsu comes back and finishes him. and here, He is going to play key role in this mini series, no sits in a room and nobody even saves him, it just happens. he than shares win with Natsu.

Final chapter is gonna have him dressed up in that matching custom, this is disappointing for 20th anniversary both in story and art qualities.
