It's unlikely that there was life before chaos, and he is probably the creator of the life spirits.

Perhaps he himself is the greater one and the life spirits are fragments of chaos, or perhaps the greater one is another of his sons.

This could be a reference to the Holy Spirit, Chaos has analogies to the Christian God and Arthur to Christ himself.

I'd speculate that the collective of life spirits is a sibling of cath and the lady of the lake, an entity/concept created by chaos. And a key ingredient to the creation of life in the world.

Life spirits exist where life exists so the great one will most likely be Chaos's own life spirit because it's the first life who created everything.

I was thinking of something similar to aspects that form the existence of chaos, like the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but in this theory:

Chaos= the power
Arthur= the body
Greater one= the Soul

I agree I think chaos created the great one like he did the other gods and gave it the task of governing life and death when the other gods started creating their races

This is the sort of chapter that makes me wonder what the point of any of this is. We just saw lancelot one shot two induras with no effort whatsoever. And... zeldris is supposed to do something here? The way I see it there's very few possible scenarios here.

1.- Zeldris gets one shot.
2.- Zeldris reveals an assault mode or a godly form and gets one shot.

The only way what follows is in any way anything other than a wasted of ink is that something other than lancelot easily winning happens. And I mean just in general, not something like mael appearing, holding the fort a little longer but still loosing.

It's not. Commandment Induras are called Indura's of favor and the one comming is Indura of resentment.

The official translation puts even more emphasis on the DR being the only remaining option compared to FKS' translation. The GR doesn't exist anymore? I'm sad and a bit angry.

Zeldris will never be one shotted or no diffed. I mean, the problem is that Nakaba loves Zel and Mel too much he might decide to let Zel defeat Lancelot before others even make a move!!!!
