It's going to be so trippy getting the ToC page and seeing One Piece, Naruto & Bleach there again after 10+ years 😅
Those years will never come back. Even if they brought every single series back, those years will never come back.

It's the truth though? A very small fraction of Dragon Ball readers read Super, be it as volume or in the magazine, even though they treat it as a canon sequel and a lot of people don't even know much about it, meanwhile everyone knows the OG DB arcs and storylines. Every new Dragon Ball thing Toei announces is always aimed at the western audience that cares more about it.
I don't even get what you trying to say, 99% of sequels of a big series are less read and sold than the original, that's the standard, that doesn't mean anything regarding the sequel authenticity or importance, it just means that a big part of DB fans are casuals just like every other huge franchise, here in the west most not even watched the original Dragon Ball, only Z lol and Dragon Ball Super is very popular in Japan, both manga and anime, trying to state jp fans like GT more or something when everybody knows Toriyama had no involvement with it it's a wild statement Kiaida :XD

Which is my point. Doing stuff like this wouldn't bring old readers back, they're either still reading for One Piece or just won't care because they ignore all these spin-offs anyway. Even if the volumes sell more, they don't appeal to new magazine readers or bring back a significant number of fans.

It's popular, but not even close to mainstream casual level. There's a reason games like Kakarot are sold focusing on the stuff people know and like, they want to fight Vegeta, Freeza, Cell and Buu. In that market most people don't know what a Jiren is, he may be as well known as Baby or Syn Shenron.

I'm not underestimating it, it's a huge series that is one of the most influential ever, But One Piece is just massive to a level nothing older can compare. New stuff like Kimetsu and Jujutsu can stand alongside it because they still have their anime currently in production. Kids are aware of Naruto and Bleach, but it's not like there's a huge number of them reading like they read One Piece or interact with the huge Youtube channels dedicated to One Piece discussion/theory crafting, watch the movies (RED being one of the biggest movies ever in Japan), listen to the popular songs from the show, make the card game one of the biggest in the market, etc.

It's hard to imagine there are tons of Bleach and Naruto fans not among the older audience that keeps reading Jump for One Piece.

This a case for most of these projects, the Naruto event today was literally at New York Comic Con.
Naruto and bleach were smaller than OP even when they were serializing. But more younger gen seems to know more about OP mainly because both naruto and bleach ended over a decade ago. Not because they were not impactful. Kids nowadays were not even born yet when people were memeing "talk no jutsu" and "bleach's no background"

Just look at jjk. As someone deep in the fandom, i saw a very noticeable decline in fandom activity compared to when it was actively serializing even though modulo ended just 6 months ago. And the activity when modulo/s3 was serializing was a lot less than when the main story was serializing/S2/S1 airing. JJK fandom has gone past its peak prime from 2021/2022/2023.

Not even whatever new spinoff/sequel/prequel/new season gonna bring it back to its fandom peak from back then

I'm a longtime Jump follower and I think it's ridiculous and bad for the magazine. Always liked Jump because it looks forward and is a space focused on giving equal chances to newbies, it's a magazine where Naruto's creator had his new series axed while the newbie Kimetsu no Yaiba was becoming one of the biggest hits ever. Jump becoming Marvel is worse than any new manga selling "little".

New kids won't care to read these boomer series that ended more than a decade ago and it wouldn't do anything about magazine sales. One Piece is miles bigger as a brand in Japan than Naruto and Bleach could ever dream of being, they won't get hundreds of thousands of readers just because they're having sequels and spin-offs of stuff already seen as Old. One Piece is trendy and actually still in publication, they already get older readers from it.

If this helped a lot, V-Jump would be flying off the shelves because it has the "official" Dragon Ball sequel and in reality barely anyone in Japan seems to even consider Super as more important than GT, they're both side projects, not the real Dragon Ball.

Social media fans crazy about sales would be saying the current line-up sucks even if they were selling a million per volume. They already do that with Jujutsu and Kimetsu as if they're factually worse series than Naruto and Bleach. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. lol

Jump doing this wouldn't be them desperate, but stupid. They already sell a ton and have the biggest series in the market without the need to kill of their young readers and chasing this creatively bankrupt greedy self defeating american comics business model that already failed in its own local market.
Lurker here but you're really being hypocrite. What made Weekly shonen jump as weak as it is currently is due to two things

1.One Piece continuing, not offering a space for new manga to take spotlight and the fact the higher ups need to pay attention to it.

2.Editors being worse. Editors don't know how to edit and guide manga anymore.

WSJ is turning into a marvel magazine because of those + anime market being much much bigger after covid. making such deals lucrative.

That's just glazing one piece right now. Kimetsu is objectively much bigger than one piece everywhere. Espeically in Japan. there has NEVER been a time where one piece was even close to Kimetsu popularity. Kimetsu exited with grace instead of milk-ing for 10000 chapters though.

One Piece is also losing sales volume by volume. Digital does not explain this as One Piece digital is delayed by 1 month. Yet it still gets 3.2 million print. Why? who knows.

If you're against naruto and bleach milking, then you SHOULD be against one piece milking.

True that's a fact. ended manga lose popularity.

One Piece took over 27 years to get popular outside japan as a whole and was still overtaken by new gen manga like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu kaisen with new generations.

Imagine saying One Piece should leave the magazine.
They are clear a banned former user or just a troll if all of a sudden they make one post to clap back at someone on an account made today.

Pathetic.

Why shouldn't it? Demon slayer left the magazine and it was a 6 million a volume seller.

If you're in the opinion of constant new blood. This is the best. One Piece is hogging a place for 30 years. Enough.

Would you mind showing us the objective proofs of "nepotism" and "corruption"? That is a really bold statement.

I guess if we have to see if it's going to be in WSJ but I assume it probably will. I'm excited to see Bleach and especially Naruto again but it's hard not to argue that these moves don't give off pure desperation from Jump
But yeah, seeing Bleach & Naruto serializing again alongside One Piece will be something cool af & trippy for us longtime Jump followers

What does Bleach have to do with it?

Aren't you overreacting?

It's just a brief return by Kishimoto for the *Naruto* 30th-anniversary project.

What's wrong with that?
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Naruto already had a trash ending, Boruto is not that far behind in that regard, and now they'll make another series after the Ninja War. Completely unnecessary.
But did you watch the live stream?

It's all part of a long-term project for Naruto's 30th anniversary.

Naruto Shadow Rising will be Modulo lenght at best, not even 1 year older, there's not much what to show anyway, the preview images show the Kage mountain with Naruto face being made, baby Sarada and Naruto vs Sasuke confrontation, so it's probably not even going to have a "villain", what could even possibly make any scratch in both Naruto & Sasuke without being a Ootsutsuki? lol

But doesn't Naruto become Hokage when Sarada is already grown up?

So the crossover was always the project since 2023, just production was so bad they redid it....

He confirms in further comments no animated movie or remake are in the works.

Tbh from what I see, Japanese fans have a similar reaction to everyone else when it comes to the four new Naruto episodes being a crossover. Just a lot of 'huh why' lol

Here’s a thought, what if Naruto and Bleach return together after Sakamoto Days and Witch Watch conclude together and are part of a batch of 3 with a new series joining the 2. It would be like how 2000 started with Jojos part 6 Stone Ocean and Breman came out. But this time it would have two classics from the past (one having a limited run like JJK Modulo) and one for the future.

Betting it’s a short series.
Yep. Probably 1-2 volumes?

Because Kishi wants to live his life that he was unable to live during Naruto, and even after Naruto ended he still fully involved with the franchise and Boruto serialization supervising it. He will not draw weekly manga anymore besides short Naruto stuff. Maybe in the future he will do a monthly manga since he still young.
Isn’t he in his 50’s right now? That’s no spring chicken, imo.
