Anyway, I do wonder how LCP's will look next year, with Sakamoto gone. With this next one, Sakamoto will have had 6 whole covers this year, thats like an eighth of the issues that have come out this year. Idk if they'll push ichi to pick up the slack, but I could defo see Roku and Shinobi having a few more covers. It would be nice to see an extra Kiyoshi or Nue cover besides their anniversaries/big events, but I'm not counting on those for now.
If Ura gets as much fanfare as Roku, then it may have some covers as well.

Sakamoto's art was actually finished for a chapter, but no, its getting another LCP.

Can't wait for the final fight to be scribbles.

To take a moment to snap back to the actual TOC, it seems Ura is succeeding in it's attempts to win people over with the sheer force of cute/hot Oni girl and little else. I can only hope this serves as a stepping point towards making the series more interesting since I know I am capable of learning to relish Numa's work.
mamayuyu also had CP early.

If Hal ends, then it's a batch of 4 with Cannon Master, GFC and Sakamoto Days ending.

Predictions for this year's final batch:
- Final GFC one-shot on Issue 50
- Sakamoto Days ends on Issue 51
- Hal Formula gets axed on Issue 52
- Cannon Master gets axed on Issue 53
- A 4 to 5 series batch that lasts from Issue 51, 2026 to Issue 1-2, 2027
- It'll (HOPEFULLY) be mostly rookie-centric with only one returnee, who is an axed mangaka
- We finally get a GFC winner serialized
- We get a battle series or 2
- A surprise 5th series would likely fill in an extra slot for Witch Watch's ending or either be Bleach filling in an extra slot for the magazine, where it can comfortably run without too many color pages.

It doesn't feel at all representative of anything that happened in the past year of the series the way you'd expect such a cover to
We missed out on a ShibaxKunishige cover for 3rd anni:neutral(Maybe chiaki could have joined in like hiyuki did for the first anni cover).

Ryokutya is claiming that this Sakamoto Color page is for the 6th anniversary (thats still like a good month off). So maybe this really will be the final cover?
1st anni cover November 1, 2021
2nd anni cover October 17, 2022
3rd anni cover November 6, 2023
4th anni cover October 21, 2024
5th anni cover December 8, 2025
It's inline with the other annis. 5th one was an outlier(it's still the closest to the anniversary of the series out of them all). You're probably right that it'll serve as the penultimate chapter though.

Edit:
Btw, for me this week chapter feels like Sakamoto Days is definitely ending in a couple of chapters 🤔
This gets said every couple of chapters lol 😅
I apologize for doubting :hi

I'm just jumping to this as I feel like other series have gotten early anniversary covers ahead of their endings. But interesting to see that it isn't exactly "early", I guess they do just lump together the september and november annis. Sakamoto anni cover before Bachi is cursed af lol.

Hal rose even if slightly, so I can hope again they won't axe it outright and give it some time. With Terasaka teasing multiple new rivals in the latest chapter, I choose to believe.

Great for Ura to receive such an early CP, but the recent chapters haven't impressed me much. Really hope authors find their success, even if this series won't be for me. Greykeith was excellent so far on the other hand, really hoping it'll also get CP next week or sometime soon.

Kagurabachi skipping anniversary would be sad, but understandable. Also, i know that its toc placement is not important, but I am surprised to see it so "high" this time.

Kinda crazy that the pivot to a battle sequence had it rise, people online kept on telling me that the toc was 100% from him just submitting his chapters late.

Sakamoto Days cover & lead color pages in the Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #48 is for the 6th anniversary & 3rd popularity poll contest!

Issue preview doesnt mention "climax" but the text preview for next chapter does mention about the "conclusion" of the current fight:

"Sakamoto vs. X: An incredibly heated battle!! What will be the conclusion of this long-standing rivalry!?"

Roku's House of Oddities is getting 2 consecutive color pages on Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #48 & 49 of 2026:

"To celebrate the huge popularity of the manga and the release of volume 2, we present the first of 2 consecutive color pages with a massive 25 pages increase!"

If you told me after chapter 2, that roku was seemingly Jump' next big hit, I'd think I was being pranked. Its so great to see numa and nakamura doing well.

Kagurabachi is guaranteed to not get an anniversary cover at this point. Wouldn't also make sense to give it its anniversary cover on 50s 2 full months after the proper anniversary issue (42). The reason is obvious: Hokazono's health and bad schedules making him unable to do a proper cover. They could still reuse the art of the Jump Press (which also feels very weird for an anniversary), but I feel Kagurabachi isn't directly going to get anything this year in the magazine. The 3rd anniversary was also treated properly in Jump Press which easies skipping dealing with the anniversary in the proper magazine.

Regarding next issues:
-Issue 49 is very likely One Piece which always tends to get a cover over these issues, and hasn't actually had any cover since the anniversary which is a very long strike of issues without a One Piece cover. It also helps it's resting on issue 48.
-Issue 50 could maybe be given to Kagurabachi anniversary but I doubt it. Probably will go to Ichi or Hertz which are the two series with most momentum in the magazine.
-Issue 51 is likely the start of a new serialization batch since GFC ends on 50.

I hope he'll at least be able to make a cover for the anime debut, its kinda wild how badly Hokazono is doing lately. I fear the state he'll be in by next year, just like how I feared for him last year. They need to start giving him regular breaks, he cannot handle the stress of weekly serialization.
