Mel is clearly arrogant. He never takes Escanor seriously throughout their fight, always smirking and belittling him. It was never stated that Mel could read power levels. He doesn't even acknowledge Escanors strengh at the beginning of the fight, only after Escanor managed to make Mel bleed...

Mel underestimated the One that much is clear. But Mel dropping his guard isn't observable, it is never stated nor shown. Especially not when the One attackt him, considering Mel was completely engulfed in darkness at the time. Escanors attack simply overpowering Mel is an equally, if not more...

First you make the observation, that Mel wasn't fazed by the One. Then you postulate that Mel let his guard down when attacking Escanor and that Mel, who could keep up with everything Escanor did up til now and who could deal a 1000 attacks in a second, somehow couldn't see Escanors attack...

Escanor attacked Mel twice, dealed 78 % damage and knocked him out cold. Meanwhile Escanor suffers 98 % damage from Mel attacking him 1008 times and sunshine itself. So yeah, the One is stronger.

So Ban and Mel managed to make the DK kneel, not by overpowering him, but by turning on their brains and cleverly using his magic against him. That's awesome. :super Nakaba should do fights like this more often.

In Chapter 233 on the same page were Merlin stated that Mel was still regressing, she also stated that he was already stronger now than he was back then. From that we can safely assume that 142K is the upper limit for Mel's PL during the holy war.

Well, the Camelot arc has six characters to focus on instead of two, so it can only be better than the one we have currently.

Mel is 142K. Sar and Tar roughly 90K and Ludo was said to be stronger than them, so he could be anywhere within that 52K gap. It just depends on how broad you interpret 'rivaling Mel'.
