I've just read the first chapter of Gakkyuu Houtei. It was fun and weird, and I can actually see it caving its own niche in the magazine. There's only one thing I'm curious about: is jump trying to lower its age base? Why an elementary school? School based manga tend to fall in the same cliché...

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings Titan is a young hot series. Selling old volumes is easy. They're just a dozen and easy to find. One Piece is a 17 years old WEEKLY manga with almost 75 volumes and more than 300 millions of copies already sold, selling again 2 millions of old volumes is imho...

Sorry but I don't get the WT anime. I mean I'm happy because I like the author (but Rilienthal was far better than WT) but scifi isn't even hot right now in the anime scene. Maybe someone is trying to make a new trend or something like that..we need more information. Like if it is a night anime...

There are 2 Isobee in the toc. I guess the last one is the wrong one. Anyway they're trying to pull a third kuroko: a spokon full of bishie and "totally not homo" male-on-male angst. It's a good idea, this way it won't fail. They should jump the shark and have a real gay character in it...

So probably HQ anime will replace Kuroko second season. I said so like six months ago: winter 2014 nisekoi, spring 2014 hq and fall 2014 AC. Two-cour of course.

Jump series have always bad endings. They're famous for that. Imho Mago was "rushed" but the story was close to the end anyway, they just pushed Shiibashi into making it in few chapters. Same for Reborn. Shaman King was "axed".

How can HQ possibly be in danger? The sales are amazing and the fanzine market is huge. This means one thing: fujoshi like HQ. With a proper anime (summer 2014 seems the best time, maybe fall of the same year), HQ can become the next Kuroko. None with a brain would drop the next Kuroko.
