Treat it like you're writing a completely original English script first. Read the entire series, get a strong sense of who the characters are, where the story goes, and keep note of how the author "made the reader feel" then write a complete outline of how you're going to flow the English, then...

I always am dumbstruck when I find a bunch of foreign words in katakana, especially if they are German, Russian, or Greek. It's like "...wwwhat!?" I usually just move on if I can't get it after a few minutes... remember that sometimes katakana isn't foreign words, but are standing in for kanji.

I like to use the popkanji and popvocab kinda gives me constant kanji and vocab, and you can set it to go from super fast 3 seconds(DEFAULT!?) to a bit more reasonable 20 seconds. These are cool because you can have kanji and vocab thrown at you while you're doing other stuff.
