Kagurabachi won't be moved to another magazine with the upcoming anime. Don't get your hopes up.
That's because there isn't a single manga in Jump that sells as well as Kagurabachi and Ichi, among the newcomers.

Blue Box has ended, Sakamoto Days is already in its final battle, losing Kagurabachi now would be terrible.

I forgot to put "mainstream" before hit there, cause Sakamoto is 100% a hit, just isn't really a mainstream one.

Can't say much about Blue Box, as I never followed it, and it's hard for me to assess Ichi. Wouldn't call it undisputed mainstream hit, but should it receive good anime it'll obviously explode. Desscaras alone would be enough of a reason for this. However, for me personally Ichi lacks X factor to it. The cast seems good, as well as the trials system, tho I feel like it's underutilized a little, but something's missing. I remember people had a discussion about it a few days ago.

Anything else in the magazine right now shouldn't really worry about late anime, it wouldn't change a thing.
What about Ruri Dragon by KyoAni?

I live in Japan and anecdotally I'd argue Sakamoto Days is mainstream (especially since the live action movie with Meguro Ren as the lead released), but in a strange way.

It's one of those series that basically everyone knows about, but it doesn't get much discussion. People usually seem to have either heard about it but never watched it, or they watched some of it and enjoyed it but it didn't leave much of an impression.

I'd compare it to maybe something like Stargate back when it was going on. Everyone knew about Stargate, and most people had seen at least a couple episodes, but in the public conscious it was never much more than "the other Star show".

True, they can't afford it now.

If Kagurabachi ends up in a secondary magazine now, it'll miss its chance to go mainstream.

problem is Kagurabachi itself; manga is popular and has a loyal fanbase, which is bothersome because of its current low rankings.

magazine itself, which doesn't have another hit with high sales. The most successful manga are One Piece (obviously), Kagurabachi, Ichi, and Sakamoto.

Sakamoto is already ending, and there's no manga that can compensate for that loss. They already lost Blue Box, and soon they'll lose Sakamoto; losing Kagurabachi would be problematic.

Manga magazines don't live off 1 to 3 works per decade. The idea is having multiple hits of varying degrees, this is why they publish 20 of them here and are constantly rotating the magazine. The idea that Jump is only Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, etc is very very western oriented. They're the biggest series, but Shueisha doesn't own everything related to each series and they should be always looking up for ways to promote most of their series.

Just check out the Shueisha 100 Year Anniversary site with all these artists and personalities talking about how much stuff like Rookies, Hoshin Engi, Sket Dance, etc influenced them.

Negligence towards their own series is bad business. They want as many early anime as possible so several works give all their part to build a more popular environment that benefits all works under the same umbrella. Late anime adaptations hurt several series to the point it's a big enough problem for the magazine in general.

Akane-banashi has more than 170k/volume circulation. Sakamoto is at 640k/volume and is still their biggest hit of the decade. Lack of digital numbers and not accounting for all the people that follow the magazine really give a wrong image of their actual popularity in Japan. They're big hits and among the most popular series in the industry, but their adaptations were still mismanaged.

It has its own fanbase, but it's far from being a Jujutsu Kaisen phenomenon.

Jump is obviously hoping it becomes the new manga everyone's talking about, given how much they're pushing the anime.

Probably when it happens it will always be in the top 5

Nobody says it, it's thought that it might end up in another magazine

Nobody thinks it's going to end, plot wise the series is in a long flashback arc before part 2 begins.

It's more that Hokazono is clearly struggling with the schedule (a 14 page chapter after just returning recently from a hiatus is not a great sign) so it may end up infrequently published like HxH, or moved elsewhere like World Trigger to continue with a less demanding schedule.

As I said, I see a publication with breaks every month as much more likely than a transfer, especially with the anime coming soon.

Both My Hero Academia and Black Clover also had their pages reduced, but in the case of My Hero Academia, its publication remained in Jump until the end. Black Clover was transferred but was already in its final fight.

I don't see the need to transfer Kagurabachi to another magazine for now. Especially in Jump's current state. A transfer of Kagurabachi isn't going to miraculously increase sales for manga like Kiyoshi.

Sakamoto had the chance to be JJK level international hit but the anime botched it. The anime is not bad but the level of detail and kinetic action needed for the choreography (the series’ strongest attribute) and animation was made to just a standard level when it should’ve excelled. If it did excel, we’d see a lot of western discussion and popularity. I’m wondering if SD is the reason why Nue’s is so delayed; maybe Jump knows that with the level of detailed artwork mixed with good animation could make it a mega hit and they don’t want to mess that up.

If Nue is being made by Pierrot, it may really be a hit.

It's no use having a well-produced anime if the story isn't good. Stop thinking that every manga that gets a good quality anime will turn into a new Kimetsu no Yaiba.
I agree

What was 1st?
Zanki (the one with the MC in a white suit). It was basically Zanki and Sensei Fukoku, a decent gap between those two and Grey Keys and the other one shot in 3rd/4th (I don't remember exactly which one it was, but looking at the whole list, I think it had to be Old Man Lucifer), and then a massive gap between Grey Keys and the rest (everything after Grey Keys and 3rd/4th place didn't even get 1k likes)

Quality of a story is totally subjective, tbh.
But I agree on the second part, not everything can reach KnY & JJK numbers, since they are special cases with a favorable context. But a good quality anime can make boost in sales obviously. It just can't be as big as these weird cases like KnY.

They said that about Undead Unluck and there was no sales boost. Kill Blue and Yozalura had low sales, and many people said that Kill Blue had better production than Sakamoto's.

Nue had a lot of colabs throughout the years and even a VN game. It is not totally out of the blue to think it will be a hit if it gets well animated.

I don't think any battle shonen right now has what it takes to reach JJK levels, regardless.

So why aren't Nue's sales increasing?

If Nue's story is all that you say, at the very least the manga should be on par with Ichi or Kagurabachi.

Nue hasn't even had an anime announcement yet. And the manga debuted alongside Kill Blue, which already has an anime adaptation.
