I was like Usopps speech feels very random, who is he even talking to, especially since he was not there when Gaban talked down to Luffy, but now after reading what he said (if real) it literally is Oda telling people to shut up. Voices are loud about Luffy and Gear 5 so Oda seemingly took this opportunity. Well, until I read the chapter and there was more context about the reason for his speech.
Not to mention the "where has this guy been up until now?", a lot of meta stuff in this chapter :XD

Wtf who is hating on this chapter? This chapter was damn amazing. This is the fucking COO dodging Usopp everyone has been waiting to see not to mention the fight is pretty enjoyable AND the chapter was fucking free. Free. And people fucking complain. Gtfo with those fools.
Lol, not here though.

I don’t think they have much of a problem with Usopp. Even if they did, they wouldn't be having the kind of meltdown I’ve seen. Their problem is mostly with Luffy and Imu. They believe Luffy should’ve been completely out of the fight after getting impaled a few chapters back. It’s almost like they hate him or prefer to see him useless or underperforming to drive a narrative. Now they’ve transferred that hate to Imu, calling him a fraud and a piece of shit. It’s just crazy, man 😂
But I agree with you, the chapter really did justice to Usopp's speech.

Usopps speech was cool but heh, even in that situation he couldn't let go of playing captain. Also yeah, Gaban may heard about Luffys achivements but I feel like he didn't pay enough attencion. I feel like he miss bigger picture too. Because you know, if Luffy and co would run away and abandon giants Elbaf couldn't be saved later due to fact that WG would have hostages and couldn't be stoped anymore. Anyway.
Yup, that was nice chapter. It's great to see something possitive after all those "doom" chapters. Mayby we're about to witness Imu having to back off for a while and think about something else. It's also nice to see that Luffy got bit more serious instead of messing around with random attacks in hope that one of them will land. Because actually his idea of using Lokis hammer swing to get through Imus shield and hit him as hard as possible was quite brilliant. Though we will have to wait until next chapter to see how well or unwell (hopefully not) this one got him. Fortunatly there's no break next week so at least wait won't be long.

Oda has once again achieved the "troll of the week" prize, having officially turned One Piece into ridiculous Naruto fake copy, and showing that the once so overhyped Imu is in fact some cannon fodder of some side story. It is also obvious that Oda has lost any movitation to come up with original, authentic and credible ideas, and just want to finish this Manga ASAP, while milking out money AMAP.

Oh you mean this type of shit:

Oda has once again achieved the "troll of the week" prize, having officially turned One Piece into ridiculous Naruto fake copy, and showing that the once so overhyped Imu is in fact some cannon fodder of some side story. It is also obvious that Oda has lost any movitation to come up with original, authentic and credible ideas, and just want to finish this Manga ASAP, while milking out money AMAP.
Found em' they're here too.

So...Forget about the many people who basically predicted, 'Luffy has received some mortal wounds. He's about to come back with something a lot more powerful.'

You're hating on Oda for the wrong reasons. This is expected. It actually makes sense for the story to end up like it is currently. Usopp's speech especially, let Luffy be free. That has always been what he wanted since the beginning of One Piece. If he wants to goof off well shit he is going to be an ass. But if he wants to protect his friends, well shit, he is going to protect the shit out of his friends which is what he is doing despite Gaban's scolding for him to leave.

Imu isn't weak. He is handicapped in the lower realm yet bro is fighting not just Luffy but also Loki and before this also Gaban who chopped off whole goddamn branches of the Adam tree that crushed literal mountains as they fell. Imu is strong as fuck so idk what you're saying.

And this isn't even just people predicting that this would happen. Oda is like modelling this on Luffy vs Croc or something. The way Imu was portrayed when impaling Luffy was similar to when Crocodile did it. That's common knowledge by now. After both instances Luffy came back with stronger attacks. His finishing move on croc was something very similar to his gatling moves which he just used on Imu but it didn't work. But Imu is no Croc. There may be similarities here but Imu is on a different plane when it comes to end arc bossfights causing Luffy to come up with an even more powerful move comboed with Loki's already insane blow to punch thru Imu's shield. And you call Imu fodder? What manga are you reading?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think he used Sanji's kick to get launched too. Bro just like being launched...and LUNCHED! He's got quite a few animals that ate his ass. One of then was even a dragon. Makes me wonder if any animals ate himwhile training with Rayleigh offscreen during the timeskip.

It's really interesting. I come out of this chapter feeling really good about it. I think it's just how relentless it is.
We dont have "friction" or slow down points. There's no Loki complaining about being unable to see tiny Imu, or Luffy running away. Even Luffy getting swatted into the tree doesnt feel as ill-conceived as Luffy turning his back to Imu to wave at Jinbe.

It's just really rewarding to see Imu under constant pressure and not being given his breathers.

I think Oda's plan was to make us all hate Usopp right?

Ussop might be the narrator of the story. that was a very accurate description of Luffy he presented. Even Gaban was taken a back.

I'm guessing, Luffy hasn't achieved the level of Haki needed yet to defeat Imu on his own. Combining his power with Loki's seems to have given him the edge.

I do see this battle ending abruptly because of Imu being away from Marie Geoise, too long, while in Elbaph. Plus, I get the feeling the Blackbeard pirates are getting ready to infiltrate Marie Geoise as well. Possibly may happen by the end of the year on a cliffhanger as usual. :invalid
Agree, but to compensate this, he must be faster enough to hit before the enemy embed haki and protect himself

I think we can safely assume now that Luffy slowly reaches immortality status. Being stabbed multiple times by Maki-infused artifact level weapons and still being able to move at all, forget fighting, is insane. This chapter will shine in anime.

Oda isn't fair here. It's not us (or Rayleigh/Gaban) who randomly compares Luffy to Roger/Nika/Joyboy, it literally is his story doing so.

If Haki is the common denominator, and we're not even talking about regular old Haki here, how will the other SHs ever keep up? And against whom? Jimbei is one of my favs and I'm a bit bothered that he was mostly passive in this arc. Maybe he can surprise us and push Imu into the sea with the help of Loki and Luffy.

As always, this chapter read better than leaks suggested.

i think it is just lightning but Loki channelize it as a massive GIANT ELECTRICAL BUBBLE...that explode in a straightfoward lightning 1000 bigger than any of the ones he showed before,,, that literally paralyze Imu for a second,, and launched Luffy so fast...that combined with the New attack,, it destroyed his shield..

the attack was a mix of the biggest lightining EVER + Luffy being pushed at an insane speed + Luffy New attack..

is like if someone push you at 800kmhs and while you are at it ,, you add an attack that was by defect crazy fast too... the Kinetic force becomes,, astronomical ..
don't forget the haki being embedded in the attacks too

Could Loki have used Ryou in the lightning to make a huge electrical bubble of it.. and then let it explode straightfoward?.. i still have doubts about that absolutly perfect bubble effect.. while in the back side.. you can see clearly how lightning is represented ( Spike bubble )

i mentioned it here
Just my idea or Loki used Massive Ryou?

I know I'm getting old (we all are here on MH), but Luffy's fights are getting more boring every day. It's the fight against the 'final villain' and I have zero interest. I'm just waiting for Zoro and Sanji's fight sections to come around. I've been following the manga since the very beginning (literally), and I've never been this bored.

The gear 5 (nika) thing did not help.

Shame about the break. Reading the new Edited Manga, I wonder if next chapter imu transforms again. Obviously he is not down but it's hard to imagine him not regarding loki/luffy teamwork as a threat. On top of that, Imu is obviously a lot stronger but he also keeps getting big-ish hits from them. Add to that his shield being broken... I wonder if there's some extra significance to that.

Speech by Ussop was Necessary Meta. As was Gabban’s criticism a few chapters . Luffy has always been Luffy; & Yea destiny’s of responsibilities/Roles/Positions of a power can be kool. But The person should always get to decided how they live and die.

That being said, I’m gonna be a lil salt, to the opening attack, never gave my petty critism about that. That pettiness aside! This group struggle battle is perfect!

Nobody fairs well against Imu Mano E Mano. But Nidhogg & Nika together! That’s another story!

This chapter really is showing us what we all been waiting for. God Usopp being God Usopp. And yeah, finally Imu getting wooped. Idc if it is his time limit or what the reason is. It just feels so good to see him getting his ass handed to him. It is like seeing celestial dragons getting punched in the face. So satisfting.

According to Oda's Op manga is goin to last.. past 2030.. so i doubt Imu's will be the final villian..

I wonder if Imu is an entity that actually manipulated the original 20 families that if they aligned with him, he'll make them powerful and rulers of the world.
I hope he isn't from the Moon or a Demon/Entity but instead it's his Devil Fruit. Perhaps it's one of the first Devil Fruit and it's having an extremely negative reaction being so close to the sea? Maybe he doesn't have to be submerged but rather being so close to the global sea itself is what's causing these negative reactions.

I know they mentioned Imu can't go to the surface, but technically he's not gone to the surface which is actually far deeper under the sea.

Here's my thing; I think it's not advisable to expect a normal final villain setup. Most likely, we are entering Final War with Akainu, Blackbeard, Garling, and Imu still on the board, along with all the admirals and gorosei. So, looking at Marineford, who was the final fight there?
My point is that we have to expect a more fluid fight. There WILL be the final Luffy VS someone. But a lot of stuff can happen before we get to that final punch.
Blackbeard could usurp Imu in the last 10 chaps.
Garling could usurp Imu in the last 10 chaps.
Imu could just hold the fort and turn into a chimera of mythical devil fruits.

We could have a gauntlet of Akainu, Blackbeard, Garling VS Luffy as Luffy runs to Imu. Oda wants to make Marineford look like a tame thing. That requires final war to have way more surprising clashes than just a straight run to final fight.
