WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#5. Don't post news about series from other magazine or publishers in the WSJ thread, post in the series own thread, but it's fine if you're mentioning other series or magazine to express a opinion or reflection about Shonen Jump.
#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

New Iwakami Sango 15p one shot is featured in this week issue, a "Jump Frontier" one shot called "Afternoon", his art is improving nicely but dude needs to stop copying Fujimoto all the time, the mc couple is just Denji & Asa LOL

In the page announcing Kagurabachi absence they mention that they were unable to remove Kagurabachi from the magazine cover due to print process, so i guess that smaller size Chihiro was supposed to be like that.

Although I do recall you rooting for him back in around winter in jump giga. This gotta be a good thing for him no? Debuted a work on Giga and made two one shots in the magazine within a year's time is actually fascinating to see. Guess Editors in jump really want to see him more alongside Kongon.

Well that's half the point of these topics, after all. To discuss how series are performing, what's going to get cancelled, how many new series will start to replace them, and so on. Guessing at what's coming next and when is part of the fun.

In fact talking about the new chapters of each series beyond what's relevant to the ToC used to be banned past the first few volumes even (basically until they survived the early cancellation zone and were long enough to get their own topic), years back this was purely for ToC talk.

Kubo is almost 50 and he was already struggling with weekly manga more than a decade ago. If it's longer than that, it's either another batch release like HxH or starts at WSJ and moves to J+.

But why should Kubo come back?

People really underestimate Kubo.

His artstyle definitely allow him to do over 52 chapters. Literally just a giant panel of a guy doing cool pose against white background devoid of anything else. Voila.

It is not like he is doing dandandan or berserk level of art. Or clutters of panel like Oda. Heck, Oda is about same age as Kubo and still doing weekly manga choke full of clutters with very detailed CP

And if we assume he has been working on hell arc for years in the background... yes ofc it is doable. Who knows, maybe he already has 30 chapters completed iver the past 5 years

I dunno the context of this. But that is not spite. It is respect. The actual spite is the opponent using your signature moves / bag BETTER than you and then have the entire fandom clown your opponent for decades

There is no way the Hell Arc will just be 30 chapters / 3 Volumes like Modulo.

Are we forgetting that we already have 15 antagonists pretty much confirmed for the arc (what else is the point of showing us the og gotei 13 + if their spiritual pressure is too high then they can't be reincarnated and have to be sent to hell which probably applies to all captains)? If he were to rush through all of this then why even give us this lmao.

And with how Kubo draws fights and uses the space of a page I don't see the Hell Arc being below 100 chapters. I can see him using a batch of chapters style like Togashi does eventually tho.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion lol Banksy is used everytime one of the mangas has reduced pages or is absent, which is a normal practice in the magazine, putting a short gag series to fill the page count, since 4-koma format is Suganuma's alley, i'm pretty sure they keep doing it because readers enjoy it.

I've been reading the 4-koma Banksy chapters and they're cute, about an artist who makes 4-koma strips as graffiti in particular places with particular themes to cheer someone up. This mangaka is definitely a lot more suited to these short focused episodic chapters than trying to make a full sized gag-action parody with a story.

They have postponed the final episodes of Bleach to the end of October. Maybe they want to tie the end of the anime and the new series.

They are citing productions issues for the delay.

lol no, it's not respect. It's not like Goku invented the move, he's just using it a lot (I don't think he ever invented a technique of his own. Did he?). Vegeta learned it from the same master Goku did, he has just as much right to use it. He just doesn't want to because of its association with Goku.

Not using an EXTREMELY convenient tool (we're talking crossing the universe in less than a second, putting even the angels to shame) just because you don't wanna remind people of your rival is definitively spite.

If they do a batch of 3 next and don’t get rid of Witch Watch… that would make things interesting. I would hope they use that 21st slot to hold over until WW’s end, at least. I don’t necessarily want to see 2 things getting axed in the immediate moment.

Witch watch will not end this batch. Shinohara has a lot to do still. Witch watch will end by 2027 though.

Next batch is pretty set at this point if SD, Cannon Master, HxH open slot, and maybe one or both of HAL Formula and Under Doctor (too soon for 2B but still very possible). Personally I think we have four spots: the first three I listed and HAL ending.

Am not going to disagree, you have a point there. At least with his prior one shot it did not had a chainsawman feeling to it at least.

On another hand, I really hope Kuroko Sai does not try to be too much on the nose with Banchoism like he was with Heroing which was clearly inspired heavily from MHA.

Also, you must be quite happy that the author of the Kitsune one shot is participating in the GFC, aren't you?
