#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

A Nue's Exorcist site domain have been registered this month, https://nues-exorcist.jp, and while this isn't a confirmation of a anime yet, it has basically the same sources as the Kill Blue anime website domain, so it seems pretty real, but gotta wait and see!

Who knows by how much it will boost sales.

Yeah, it's not treated unfairly at all, it just:

- Never got a single obi recommendation even when several famous authors openly praised it, meanwhile they give it to basically all other series, including Shinobigoto getting around 6 or so recommendations and new series like Under Doctor, Mamayuyu, Roku, Kinato, etc all had Shueisha running to big authors to give them recs

- Got its 2nd anniversary cover skipped (turned into a single color page), meanwhile Shinobigoto and Kiyoshi got theirs while being less popular, Roku got a 2nd cover before a volume was even out

- Was completely excluded from the last Jump Festa, with not even a booth, while basically everything else was there and Shinobigoto got pushed at the same level of Kagurabachi and Ichi

- Didn't even get a LCP for a popularity poll when the other option was to deliver a Sakamoto Days chapter that was a bunch of scribbles because they overworked the author

- Gets basically no marketing campaigns at all from Shueisha at any level even after it won a famous award, not even marketing at subway stations. Kodansha does that for Kurotsuki no Yaergnacht, a manga in a similar niche and sales range level

- Not even a LN even though it's known as "the LN Jump manga" that appeals exactly to this public and was praised by the guys that write popular novels like Rezero, Durarara and Shangri-la Frontier

- Was always constantly thrown at the end of the TOC even under axebaits often

The ONLY things Nue ever got from Shueisha were PVs, that aren't even regular and all established series get. Everything else came from third party companies more interested in supporting it than Jump's editorial and all else comes from Kawae himself and the fans. All the things that they fill the obi nowadays come from them alone and not Shueisha: 1.6M copies in 14 volumes promoted mostly through fans on social media and the AnimeJapan victory that was basically another fan initiative.

I'm following this magazine for more than 15 years and I don't remember any other established manga that had less support from the magazine than Nue.

There's no way you can argue Nue, a series which gets regular color pages and oscillates around the ToC, and is going to get a full run and anime is treated worse than stuff like Kill Blue, which was cancelled on the same issue as its anime announcement, or something like Mr. Fullswing which never got an anime despite running for 4 years in the biggest manga magazine.

Whistle had to pivot from a training camp arc to a time-skip and ending despite having sold 17 million copies and having an ongoing anime. There is no way to argue that in Jump's storied and competitive history, a manga which ranks somewhat bad and has one skipped cover is the most mistreated series in shonen jump history. That's such a hyperbolic statement lol.

Compared to what i see from BORUTO this is okay for a 20k - 25k seller.

10th anniversary was rewarded with a cover (on Vjump), guidebook and digital color version lmao

You're aware Nue didn't end yet, a rushed ending could easily happen if they find the opportunity to do it. Kawae himself already mentioned cuts he had to make in arcs because of the editors, so it's not like it was never impacted by Jump (Suzaku's family fate had to become a volume extra and Zenno's plotline in the Soranaki arc was cut entirely). This happens to everyone, but the same goes for rushed endings, it's not really the same thing as the marketing/promotion while it's running. Kill Blue got a 2nd cover early, got LNs, early anime, etc and you know I was always arguing against it being axed with an anime in production. Saito is just that decided to not promote things he doesn't care for.

Also, having to go back this much you have to consider a completely different time. While Mr. Fullswing didn't get an anime, hit Jump series weren't all adapted by default until the late 2000s, even Kochikame had to wait decades at the same time it was promoted as a major Jump title.

I read Whistle and you're downplaying that arc a bit to call it just training when it was a whole thing about the different regional teams going against each other in a tournament and finally closing the Shigeki storyline that they hinted at the beginning of the series. I can't say how much it was promoted during its run, but Jump paid Higuchi to go the 1998 World Cup in France as a newbie mangaka and had collabs with major soccer magazines and players to promote it early on. Even when Takahashi (Captain Tsubasa) came back to Jump with more soccer manga, he was axed and Whistle kept going on.

I'm not saying they never did anything bad to other authors or that Whistle had no issues in how it was treated, it for sure had more to tell, even if I think that arc was decided to be the last one many months before it ended, but it's really downplayed here how Nue isn't marketed at all. Again, not a single recommendation just speaks for itself, not because recs can sell manga by themselves, but it's the easiest thing to do to promote a manga and they couldn't bother with that even.

I was in Japan when volume 1 for Nue released. Visited several stores in both Osaka and Tokyo and I don't remember seeing even a single promotion piece to Nue anywhere. Heck, it was mostly out of stock.

An anime might be good pr for it and the magazine as a whole, but between delayed interest and constantly trying to find an excuse to not promote it when multiple alternatives have been misses or too new to generate a sizeable following.....it's pretty clear that is bad editorial practice and bias against Nue

Finally getting a fully voice acted Numa work is insane. The jokes were always good, but from the trailer alone it feels like they'll hit even better with the proper punch from the acting, similar to how Gintama's comedy hits much better in the anime.

It looks great (even if the animation itself is a little stiff, the colors are very vibrant, and you don't really need super fluid animation for gags like these imo), but most of all the VAs sound like they are having a blast and that was the most important thing to get right. Op also sounds like a banger, so I might watch on release myself!

Well, I been more active in JP community instead of here, but I want to say that Nue getting an anime is one of the best things that has happened to me this decade.

After all, who doesn’t love lookin at their favorite manga get an adaptation? Nue is, to me, the very best manga to come out this decade, and it still is.

I really hope the anime spreads a lot of love for Nue and brings even more people into this amazing series. It deserves it.

Giving Bleach a 2nd try and I finally got to finish fullbring and I honestly really enjoyed it ngl.
honestly surprised some folks say this arc is awful lol. Like can someone explain why readers didn’t like this arc when it was getting chapters weekly.

For me the Fullbringers as a group and individually left a lot to be desired, especially given how strong (character wise) all the other antagonist groups had been up to that point. They are a huge stepdown as a group from the likes of the Goeti 13, the Arrancars, and the Vizards. So you go from antagonists that the fanbase really liked loved and could get behind ,to an antagonist group that many could have cared less about.

The arc itself felt a bit disjointed from everything else we had gotten previously as well. It doesn't help that it came on the back of the finale with Aizen either. It was never going to be as well received as what had come just before it. So, I guess the Fullbring arc was doomed to be seen as subpar coming off the back of Aizen.

I personally view fullbring as my favorite arc. I don't think it has the highest highs of the series, but it telling a fairly straightforward story with little padding is kind of an anomaly for bleach (ignoring substitute shinigami, but thats more of a collection of arcs rather than one big one). Plus tsukishima is just a fun concept for an antag, and I found the actual fullbringer stuff fun for finally making Chad relevant again (not for long, but still, he could have easily still been ignored). I get the people who like soul society or arrancar more than it, but while they are also good, there's just a level of bloat to them (especially arrancar), that fullbringer lacks, which endears me to it.

Im not really a Nue fan by any means but I think I think it’s fairly obvious Nue is going to be huge hit with the anime. The artwork lends itself well to being animated as long as they don’t fuck up the animation like Blue Lock, OPM or Sakamoto. If the anime is done right I legitimately believe it could hit JJK levels; I genuinely believe it could even hit KnY levels in Japan.
