i don't know i think the americans or the chinese will it.... y the chinese i have no idea but i just think coz it's in their country it might give them some momentum... and the dream has to be good for once this time.....

Americans will win it,no doubt.They have been waiting for this moment for so long and they want it so much and about China I doubt,maybe it will give them some momentum,but in the end it wont be enough.

Yeah, there isn't really any doubt in my mind the US will win the gold in basketball. Their team is stacked. I mean they have Kobe and LeBron on the same team. Anything short of gold is a major disappointment. I really don't expect any of their games to be close.

The only knock I have on the USA basketball team is the lack of big men. We have Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, and Tayshaun Prince. Though, I don't know how much a threat Prince or Bosh will be in the low-post (I don't really follow the NBA). I am excited by the fact that Dwayne Wade seems healthy, and hopefully Lebron's ankle isn't in very bad shape. We should win the gold, and frankly I'll disappointed if we don't. Basketball is the one sport in America where there's never an excuse for our team to lose. For us, basketball is kind of the way hockey was in the Soviet Union.

I'm gonna watch all track event and have a special looks at the american and Jamaican for the 100 meter race and also a Special watch at Natasha for the Pole Vault (female)...right ..
And also the grand opening for the festival will be magnificent as already proclaimed by the media...

And many more..maybe one game will be close against Spain probably,theyre gonna kill Greece when they play them,they killed Canada 50 or 60 points,dont remeber already.But there are other players that should deserve the credit on the team like Carmelo,Jason Kidd,blah I dont know where Im going at here right now

Prince aint even a big man.And Lebron ankle is fine already,he will in the next game and Wade is back in his 100%,the windmill said it all I think they are taking the gold,no wait they will take it.

Well the U.S. basketball team has been crushing there opponents in the exihibition games, if they lose agian, Ill be soo happy. I just dont want Kobe to win anything

Lelo-kun, its not that we havent qualified, england just doesnt go to the olympic football competitions. We pulled out decades ago. ^^;

And *ahem* GO TEAM GB!!!!! (Hopefully we'll get a decent amount of golds, target: beat the german, french and italians and get the most medals in europe )

@Imperium, ohh ok. They should compete though, they should send all the young up and coming English stars to play. But I guess their too cool for school. I also miss watching them compete, they've been my favorite team since I started watching football, and lately theyve been MIA(cough, Euro08, cough), but atleast Man United are doing excellent.

Russia played pretty good against the US basketball team, they were the first to hold them under 100 points and they only lost by around 20, which is really good.

Not to mention a debatable non-call in the penalty box late in the game, but I'll take the win. With the Netherlands and Nigeria tying, our chances to advance are looking pretty good atm. Well, the Netherlands are next up for the U.S.

I will say the chance of U.S. advancing still isn't all that good. Because i don't see them been be able to beat Netherland or Nigeria. And i think both Nigeria and Netherland can beat Japan. So if this happen that means Netherland will have 7pts, Nigeria 7pts, USA 3pts, and Japan 0pts. Which means USA wouldn't make it out of the Group. This what i see happening because i just dont see U.S. beating either Netherland nor Nigeria. I just don't see, especiallly base on their performance against Japan.
But i wouldn't count them out yet if they can step their game up. Against the Dutch they will need to step their defense up a few notches. If i was them my mind set will be: Just don't lose. Just a draw will be good. If they can just draw against the Dutch or Nigeria then i believe they will be one of the team out of the group.

Yeah it is,Im Russian and I am realy glad of that,but I think its not the Russians who played well it was the Americans who had a terrible game,I realy dont know what happened but I hope Russia gets somehow to the medal rounds I want them to beat Lithuania,that will be a good one,I want to see how they will react this time.
