Italy's performance this WC is shocking. One thing is playing awfully, but besides that, they don't even look like they want to win. All I see is a bunch of guys walking around in the field, without trying to pressure Slovakia and without too much effort in their defending either o.o

Wow, the final moments of Italy-Slovakia were really good, exciting.
I'm sad because a traditional team is out (a WC without Brasil, Argentina, Germany and Italy isn't a WC), it hurts my romanticism

But, in other hand, I'm happy because it was fair. The current football of Italy is ridiculous, mediocre. They didn't win a single game this year. Plus, the elimination of Italy means no one can reach the number of titles that Brasil have.

Great goals, awesome performance by Slovakia. Pirlo made such a difference once he came on! It's damn shame he wasn't able to play in the first two group games due to his injury.

Quagliarella was awesome, and when Pirlo came we saw what italy could've been if he was there the first games

This year I see either germany or brazil winning.... Brazil is as strong or even stronger than ever and germany seems to be at least decent. Netherland has a good team but I don't see them ultimately winning. Spains performance has been poor to say the least AND it is well knows for doing less than acceptable in WCs. There is a chance maradona's tactical genius and wit might surprise us though.

Italy out really made my day, they are our arch-enemy since 2006 and it looks like they wanted to do it the same way as 4 years ago. Playing bad and make a goal when it's needed. Don't they know that such a plan only works once? Arevederci Italy xP

Since my childhood, when i saw Tsubasa playing for the team I support here in Brazil, I started to cheer for Japan team.

And that Honda, he is a bold player. I've liked his style.

Honda was really good today, did brilliantly upfront on his own and his hold-up play for very good. the play when he set up the last goal was excellent. Poor Denmark, because they were really poor, in fairness Japan could've easily had 4-5 goals. The Larssen shot that hit the crossbar was sick!

First tournament where both the holder and runner-up are out in the group stages, and the way they both played this tournament they deserved what they got.

Looking back at what Beckenbaeur said about England, we really have drawn dug a hole for ourselves, cos even if we beat Germany, we could play Argentina in the quarters, Spain in the semis and Brazil in the final , although you have to beat the big teams to win the World Cup, you'd like to at least avoid them until you really MUST play them.

Yep. Honda did superbly today! The Denmark x Japan was great! The free kicks were awesome. Endo & Honda...they both need to play in Europe! Honda would do great in the Bundesliga imo.

England's next game is probably the toughest match up in a long time for them. If they perform and pass better than they did against Slovenia, I think they've got a strong chance of progressing. Argentina is the big problem for England imo. I would take my chances with meeting Spain in the semis as oppose to playing Portugal instead this time around.

The Brazilians are over hyped this year. They've played well but I feel that people are getting a bit too carried away with them. If Brazil win tomorrow then they'll go all the way to the finals (unless the Netherlands can do one over on them which is highly unlikely imo). South Korea don't stand a chance against Brazil neither. If Portugal win tomorrow then it's a completely different situation. I feel Spain is one of the more prepared teams that have the right players to counter Brazil's playing style and actually win the game. I wouldn't mind seeing Japan face Spain in the Quarter-finals.

Anyway I predict that Portugal will win against Brazil and so will Spain against Chile.

Spain/Brazil Vs. Japan

I can't wait for the Portugal x Brazil game.

Spain vs Chile is going to be a great game to watch as well. Spain is going to win this IMO.

Julio Baptista, Dani Alves, Michel Bastos, Luis Fabiano, Gilberto Silva... any of you guys played today?
This match made our lack of a good bench pretty evident, we'll have to pray that Kaka doesn't get suspended/injured again, and if he does, maybe it's better to put Lucio with the number 10, he was attacking better than any other
Also, Julio's protection on his back got me worried, he must be playing with pain too...
