2-0 Spain. I don't believe in the dutch team at all.

Nah, Spain doesn't make more than one goal per match.

Italy disagrees.
Casillas during the final: "Referee, end the game already, this is shameful and embarrassing for Italy!" XDDDD

Spain's team is largely unchanged from the previous tournament, which is a long time to keep the same squad; but the talent and experience they have there is not matched by many teams in the this tournament. The issue is the age of most of the players involved.

On the other hand, the dutch team has about 5 players(?) from the previous tournament, so that's a lot of change. It'll be interesting to see how the teamwork will cope with Spain's. I'm going for a Spanish win because I think in the end and despite their largely unimpressive friendlies, they will have the know-how to deal with the pressure/expectations and challenge from the dutch team.

They have Costa leading the line tonight. Just need Torres to pull his finger out and they'll be good :nod.

There is an exception for every rule. :derp
World Cup 2010 was made by 1-0 most of the time. They don't convince me at all.

Northeast, where the match is holding, is the driest region of the country. Today it's raining there. :XD
that's inaccurate, although the Northeast really is the driest region of the county, that's not the case of Natal. Natal is on the coast, not on the "sertão". The dry season is beteween september and january, after that the rain falls heavily

rofl you guys are noobs, Spain has scored 2 or more goals in almost every single game the past years.

They often allow the oppoent to score however, but to say they never score more than once is flat out wrong. They almost never win 1-0. They win 2-0, 2-1, draw 2-2 etc, but almost never only score once.

Make more than one goal in small teams is easy, but in the World Cup... 2x0 against Honduras was his best score. Against HONDURAS! :XD

It's pretty normal to have average results pre-tournament. Most teams go kind of easy to avoid injuries etc. In other words they play scared. Another example of weak friendlies lately is Brazil, England, Portugal etc.

Also Bob is correct, Spain has an extremely experienced squad. I don't remember the exact numbers, but 11 and 13 players or something in their squad were with the team and won WC2010 and Euro2012.

I don't like Spain btw xD But they shouldn't be taken easily.

Basing yourself just in World Cups is simply dumb.

Spain kind of suffers the same fate Barca does, since they play the same football. Teams are so scared and they dominate possession any way so hard that it becomes a battle vs 11 men defending. This is why I dislike Spain's football and find most of Barca and Spain's matches boring to watch. Some of the fast paced play and one-touch play is beautiful to watch, but when you see an "eternal siege" go on with no results forever it becomes soooo boring and lack of dynamic play sucks.

Of course, they don't take WC seriously, like they don't Conf Cup. They're just mundane competitions after all. :nod

I don't know what Spain has to prove here... They have been the best team in tournaments the past 6 years besides the conf cup. They won euro, won WC, won euro. Downgrading the team is nonsense.

I really like that there are more teams up there this year. Previously everyone was saying "very likely Spain will win", now we have other teams that can challenge and even be greater favorites like Argentina and Brazil. Germany always does well in tournaments too. This might be the best WC since 1998.

98 was great, you lost your credibility saying that this one gonna be as good. it's just gonna be like in 2010, so-so

You misunderstood then. I said it might be the best among 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. Hence "best since 1998" because 1998 was so great... My statement excluded 1998 and only applied to WCs after 1998.

My point was there's more teams that could be the top team this time. In 2010 for example it was pretty obviously Spain as the super clear #1 favorite, and they delivered. A few believed in Netherlands which almost made it, but got crushed in the final.
