That was not the problem here. If another rookie in nen was in Kurapika's shoes when he got hit with a 100% powered Big bang impact, then not only his arm but it's his whole body that shoul've been in pieces...Kurapika escaped this fate since by being in emperor's time, his aura increases in quantity plus the fact that his reinforcement potential became the same as uvo'v, i.e. maximum.Um if you block a punch with your forearm like Kurapika did and it gets broken you didn't just block an attack your arm just got f*cked up. Normally blocking with the forearms/elbows hurts the fist more than your arm and breaks the fist but in this case the opposite happened. That means Uvo's attack was successful its just that Kurapika healed it twice with no problem thats why it didn't do anything.
Not really, Uvo was not planning to hit his arm. His hit would have been fatal but he only got his arm because Kurapika dodged it at the last moment. That was not the problem here. Kurapika survived because he dodged and took his distance and obviously his defense was up, that's what matters. BBI albeit powerful is still a punch. It isn't always fatal, the aim is important. When he killed Worm he didn't aim, it's not his arm that he hit. He's saying that no matter what Uvo aimed for, 100% Big Bang Impact would have destroyed a rookie entirely
I mean yeah his technique is based on palpatation but it is an emission nen technique is what i was trying to say.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palpation

I think Leorio's technique allows him to combine the punching and the palpation, creating the portal on the receiving end, while Ging deduced that this technique of the doctor is likely based on palpation, and then mimicked that--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
Yea you're right I forgot BBI also explodes on impact. Kurapika must have had very good ryu to be able to absorb that much nen and only come away with a broken arm. That was not the problem here. I think the point he was trying to make is that BBI explodes and if Kurapika was a rookie/scrub he wouldn't have been able to withstand all of that nen and would have been blown to bits regardless of whether or not it hit his arm or some other body part.Kurapika survived because he dodged and took his distance and obviously his defense was up, that's what matters. BBI albeit powerful is still a punch. It isn't always fatal, the aim is important. When he killed Worm he didn't aim, it's not his arm that he hit.
Sure, both actively defending and dodging go a long way to mitigate the damage, but BBI created what we (in the real world) would classify as a crater. To say 'it's still a punch' is fatally underselling the power behind BBI, and consequently, undersells the importance of Emperor Time in that fightKurapika survived because he dodged and took his distance and obviously his defense was up, that's what matters. BBI albeit powerful is still a punch. It isn't always fatal, the aim is important. When he killed Worm he didn't aim, it's not his arm that he hit.
Yes, it's an emission technique, but that's different from what you said before (it being 'bursts of emission'. Emission (and other catagories) isn't nen in itself, categories simply describe how nen is applied. The fact that the palpation sends out waves of Nen makes it emission, the waves themselves aren't 'bursts of emission nen')I mean yeah his technique is based on palpatation but it is an emission nen technique is what i was trying to say.
Enhancement Hatsu like Rock and BBI only explode when they hit the ground or something like that. In contact with human flesh, they are like normal physical moves, no AOE destruction, everything is focused in the punc. When Gon punched the ball against Razor, Pitou on the face or the Owl during the NGL infiltration, there was no explosion but punching the ground or something shows how powerful the move is, it's always been like that. The crater made by Uvo's BBI was because Worm was underground.I think the point he was trying to make is that BBI explodes and if Kurapika was a rookie/scrub he wouldn't have been able to withstand all of that nen and would have been blown to bits regardless of whether or not it hit his arm or some other body part.
I didn't say the power changed,it's still as powerful, when I say it's a simple punch I mean that craters or explosions are not created when hitting humans. Kurapika's defense was inferior otherwise his arm would have been in perfect condition, he survived because only his arm was hit. There's no rule like that, I think
The power is released anyway, it's just that when used against a nen user who is guarding, lots of that incoming power will be cushioned by the nen of the defending party. When used against, for example, the ground, there's no such cushioning factor, and the technique is released with little holding it back. Which is why BBI isn't reduced to a simple punch when used against a human, like Kurapika - it's still just as powerful, Kurapika's (defending) technique was simply superior.
I have watched that scene many times in the manga and in both animes, what kurapika does is block the attack with his arm. Uvo's fist does make contact with a part of Kurapika's body, so it is not dodging (If he would've really "dodged" then Uvo's fist would miss hitting). Not really, Uvo was not planning to hit his arm. His hit would have been fatal but he only got his arm because Kurapika dodged it at the last moment.
He dodged but not perfectly, Uvo was aiming for Kurapika's spine, not his arm. Kurapika dodged that so he avoided a fatal strike.I have watched that scene many times in the manga and in both animes, what kurapika does is block the attack with his arm. I know that Uvo does say "...you dodged well...", but still the image is pretty clear and speaks for itself, meaning that Kurapika blocked at the last moment and managed to limit the damage.
When Uvo said you "Dodged well" I'm pretty sure he was talking about Kurapica Avoiding Uvo's Inteneded target on kura to hit, which I'm pretty sure was his spine.I have watched that scene many times in the manga and in both animes, what kurapika does is block the attack with his arm. Yeah I agree with the fact that he avoided lethal damage. It's just that when you said "dodged", I thought you meant that he actually moved and avoided the attack...Let me rephrase my claim :He dodged but not perfectly, Uvo was aiming for Kurapika's spine, not his arm. Kurapika dodged that so he avoided a fatal strike.
Without that quick reaction Kurapika would have died.
That's more or less it. Still, to me BBI doesn't really explode, but has the power of a small missile. In the end it's not that much difference though.Yea you're right I forgot BBI also explodes on impact. I agree with what you're saying I guess I just didn't explain myself well but yes you can call Leorio's technique palpatation. I'm just saying the technique itself is emission thats all.Yes, it's an emission technique, but that's different from what you said before (it being 'bursts of emission'. Yeah i'm pretty sure if you're strong enough to make craters with your fist you will explode a normal person or weak nen user into chunks if you hit them with that attack. If those you mentioned didn't explode it must be because they were strong enough to absorb some of the impact and not explode into pieces.Enhancement Hatsu like Rock and BBI only explode when they hit the ground or something like that. It doesn't outright explode like Genthru's little flower but the energy of the attack cause a shockwave akin to an explosion so its basically the same thing. That's more or less it. Still, to me BBI doesn't really explode, but has the power of a small missile. In the end it's not that much difference though.
Transmutation is the most likely, actually. Why conjuration? What do you think is Sun and Moon's category? I think it's Transmutation or Conjuration.
