Yes, I mean the murder of Yu-hon. It would fit nicely with the rest of the story and with what we know so far.

I also suppose that the next chapter will be about Yona and Hak’s romance. I don’t mind if in the meantime Kusanagi will think of some really good characterization for the characters that will appear in the future arc and a decent plot. Besides, she can always show Yona and Hak’s discussion about Su-won and what happened that night. I think it is long overdue.
Which would mean that Zeno would have gone in and out of the castle on a daily basis. Surely the relationship between the two brothers (Il and Yu hon) differed from their public image.

It depends on where the murder of Yu-hon happened, it may not have been done on the castle grounds. We only know that Su-won told Yona that it was later covered up as an accident.

Then you think that he observed the murder incidentally?

I don’t know. It can be both ways. At the very least I think that it would not be strange if Zeno was curious about Hiryuu, for whom he waited so long, and was hanging around Hiryuu castle or maybe even found a way to sneak into the castle.

Could be that he was aware of secret pathways.

I believe that Zeno knows more about Yona, Suwon and their parents than either one of them, more than the priest maybe for now he's going along with Yona's plans but at some point he'll reveal some stuff, and Zeno getting in and out of the Hiryuu Palace shouldn't be surprising, he lived THAT long and he was there when this palace was built so...

Zeno 100% knows more than he is letting on. It will be interesting when he reveals it. He probably isn't revealing it because he wants Yona to figure out her own path without his influence.

There is not a "I love you too" in it. At least that s what it looks like. So instead of a fine conclusion, we got far more awkward moments. But at least Soo Won is brought up...so maybe there will be a little talk in the next chapter about why Soo Won killed King Il.
Oh and chapter 153

I cannot say that I am totally surprised that Yona didn’t confess back. Well, at the very least we will be saved from the pain of seeing her oblivious for no good reason.

As for the chapter itself, it at least looks better than the other two and is somehow promising.

Yona practising with sword. I will take it as a good sign that in the future chapters she will be given some sort of victory thanks to her better mastery of swordsmanship, not because luck will be showered on her.

Hak speaking with Je-ha and admitting that he may be the one stuck in the past. Nothing ground-breaking about it, but it actually sounds good that he gets bits of characterization and development.

Why is Yona torturing poor Hak? Man up Yona!

Will she say I love you when Hak is almost on his death bed or something cliche like that? *sigh*

You know, considering the love story isn't the main element of AnY, it would be good to be over and done with it mid-way so that we can just progress with the plot.

I don’t know. Maybe Kusanagi wants to save it for the final chapters or her editor pressures her to postpone it a bit. Maybe she or her editor thinks that there is still some drama juice that can be squeezed out of it and there are some plans for tragic turns of events.

For example, to split Hak and Yona again and somehow make Yona end up working with Su-won. The reunion with Hak will happen at a very dramatic moment when Yona saves Su-won’s life and Su-won saves Yona, which Hak will see, misinterpret and think that all hope for being with Yona is lost for him.

This is probably how it would go but so typical right? *sigh*. I would have rather had this out of the way so that Hak can focus on growing as a person. With the stress of Yona out of the way, he can focus on his weaknesses (like his occasional murderous rages) and we can see some good growth.

I certainly would not mind if the story moved on from the subject of love between Hak and Yona. I haven’t had any interest in this romance since the honey licking scene, which was the final nail in this relationship’s coffin for me.

It would be much more interesting to, for example, see if Yona and Hak realize that they were deluding themselves when they were dreaming about future back in the palace and building castles in the air.

I am not sure, if that issue will be brought up. Most likely not...though it would be really interesting.

Yes, I think it would be interesting to see them have a good amount of self-reflection.

Yona idealized Su-won too much and was building castles in the air in that sense that Su-won gave her no hopes and promised her absolutely nothing. It seems that knowing what he is going to do, he handled her crush on him in the most decent way possible and I think he likely knew that she likes him, because Min-soo was telling stuff to Kye-Sook.

Hak was obviously not listing to Su-won, but if he had taken notice of what Su-won is telling and had confronted him about it, the story might have been very different.

P.S. I have corrected my previous post, since it was not what I wanted to write and it looked like I am being rude to Mini_kinkin. I must have been half-asleep when I was writing it in the morning.

I think that it is pretty interesting what you say here: I think that besides Yona, Hak even more constructed an overly positive picture of Soo Won. He pictured Soo Won being some kind of goldy being that loved everyone and was above them in his point of views concerning life....An even more idealized version than Yona who at least considered him a human being like everyone else.

Though I would say that one could argue who idealized him more...It is partly an effect of Soo Won s contradictory behaviour. He smiles at people in most situatiions, but that is rarely an expression of happiness. (Though I must say...partly Soo Won also suffered of idealisation concerning Hak).

Yes, Hak certainly did it. He thought that Su-won likes everyone equally, but it is clearly not the case. Looking at how fond Su-won was of his uncle Il. However, I think about this one Hak can be justified for not noticing, because Su-won pretended that everything is ok.

In Hak’s case it is the dream that Su-won would marry Yona one day and they would live happily ever after where he ignored the big glaring signs that it was likely not going to happen. Su-won made it clear to him that he cannot marry Yona. At least on this subject Su-won was straightforward with him. If Hak listened to him, he might have discovered the reason behind Su-won’s refusal to marry Yona and that something was amiss.

Well, to a certain degree Su-won’s betrayal was a betrayal of Hak and Yona's groundless image of him and their groundless hopes for the future.

As for whether Su-won idealized Hak, I am not sure. Su-won certainly liked Hak very much and admired him, but I don’t think he had an unrealistic image of Hak in his head.

In my opinion, one reason why he didn t bother to listen to Soo Won, was this idealized image of Soo Won. Hak was absolutely sure, that this would be the best turn of events for everyone.
It s not that he asked him to be king, he wished him to be king, he demanded that from Soo Won. Yes, he has never actually listened to him, but he also never bothered to ask him, what Soo Won wished.
Which is funny..even though Soo Won is supposed to be the next king in Hak s mind, he is forced to comply with Hak s wishes.
Hak staying with Soo Won....this would have just come true, if he married Yona and be the next king.

I don t mean that he idolized him in the same way as Hak did, rather he just appreciated the positive traits of Hak, but failed to see, that he might have also weaknesses.
Though I must say, it is not so clearly pictured in the manga...I think you would maybe see that, that he automatically thinks that Hak leads Yona s footsteps, even though it is the other way around.

I see. It can be. It would be nice if this were developed in the manga.

Yes, though I think it is rather arrogant to think that one knows better what would make other people happy, especially when one doesn’t bother to listen to them. Hak might not have suspected that Su-won’s reason may be so serious, but it is still not right to nag at someone to do something one thinks best for this person unless we see it is really harmful. However, marrying or not marrying a girl is not one of these things.

Besides, there might have been other much likelier reasons for Su-won’s refusal to marry Yona that can quickly come to mind. One of the most banal being that Su-won might have been in love with someone else.

I wonder if Hak would still keep insisting that Su-won marry Yona after finding out that Il is responsible for Su won's father death. To be sure, Yona is not responsible, but it still would be a very awkward situation.
