All Purpose Sig Contest Discussion Thread 2011

I always save my PSDs of my sigs, even ones from long time ago. Although I don't use them all the time, I always see how I used to create my sigs.

@DeBaron: Just like what Coffee said, there's slightly too much green on the right side. Maybe do something to it. Probably add like a texture, c4d, etc.

@Coffee: You can try out a dark blue too or a purplish color. They should work too. But I think you're going for a dark mood in you sig, so I guess black's fine.

I really don't know what to make for the current theme...
I started alot of signatures and ended up changing the whole thing in the middle of work... Fortunately, there is still time before the deadline.

I had renders of Zetsu prepared for the theme but these guys looked better on the backgrounds so...

It seems Zetsu or Yamato is the easiest to do for trees, huh?

Yes it seems so... If you are sticking with anime renders.

The hardest part for me are the leaves... My backgrounds are always messy and have too many effects, which makes it real hard for me to keep the leaves on the tree shapes intact... This proves to be a challenge.
There is an easy way out but I hate it. They call it A LARGE CANVAS lol.

@Coffee: You should fonts with a similar style IMO. The middle text looks cool but I don't like the other font. You can also make the overlay border around the text smaller, and the words closer to each other. Forgive me if I seem so picky, but I really like that sig and I want it to be perfect ^^

Well now that I think of it, I can probably make a tree shape on a layer and make a clipping mask. That can work.

I finally got a groove on my entry so I'll have it done by tomorrow or Friday. And good luck to you to, Shin! And everyone else too.

I don't like doing large canvases. When I work on one, I tend to crop it so the good parts are more focused. They look better that way than being all spacey imo.

@ Gintara and Coffee- Thanks so much for the feedback on my Uchiha sig. I actually added the green part at the very end as the sig was way too pink/red, so I think I should beable to tone it down a bit.

@Shin - Again your lastest two sigs = pure awesome!

@ Coffee - About your sig, I agree with Shin, I like the middle text, but the other text doesn't look right, I would try different fonts and mabye try some different positions/spacing as well, as they kinda look too far apart or something. But I'm terrible at knowing what text looks good on a sig.

With practice you can do anything. You proved that. Just go back to the first sig you made and look at your work now. Then imagine how it will be after some time...

Try moving the text closer to Saber. I'm pretty sure it's getting a lot of attention since it's near the center. It's better, but use colors that match the rest of the sig. Black seems to stick out a bit.

And I agree with Shin. Once you gain more experience making sigs, you'll be amazed how much you've improved. You may never know until you try!

While I was working on my sig, I came to realize the most easiest thing to do for this contest was make one with a Sudowoodo or a Bonsly in it. I'll probably do that if I'm not liking how my current turns out.

@Coffee - Imo I really don't see the need for test in that sig I think it's already perfect the way it is. Just my thoughts d

@kakashi - Yeah there's not really that many interesting stocks of Pokemon so I went on with the rest of my entry. And thank you for the welcome!

What you guys think about a "no text" theme? Tsukisama can choose a theme as usual,but we're not allowed to add text to the sig. Try to capture the essence of the theme without the aid of text. Just an idea that popped up in my head while I was falling asleep last night

Good idea. Text isn't always required in tags so that would probably help others out in thinking of ideas when making a tag.

I gave up on the tree theme after 3 or 4 attempts.

I just could not make on PS what I wanted after coming up with the concept on how it should look.

That sounds like an interesting idea. I shall add it to the list of future themes. (When this theme occurs, this would be the theme, and thus you could do anything you want as long as there is no text.)
