Ladies and Gentleman, dear Otakus,
welcome to MangaHelpers' new season of the Anime League!​

About

• This league has one purpose and one alone. To crown the best Anime of the season.

Rules

• Every user gets to nominate his top 3 episodes of the week in this thread.
• Nominating day is on Monday. It is possible to nominate before that day, but not after the following Tuesday.
• A week goes from Monday to Sunday. The Nomination day for that whole week is the day AFTER that Sunday. For example: This week goes from Mar 29th to Apr 04th, 23:59 CET. Voting days for this week would be the 05th and the 06th, 23:59 CET.
• Voting on tuesday is possible till the weekly ranking has been posted
• The nominations get counted. The Anime with the most votes in total wins the league.
• There won't be a restriction for Anime which have no threads here
• Only TV shows count (no OVA, no movies, no ONA, no TV specials)
• Pre-airs aren't eligible.
• 10 episodes in total are the bare minimum
• Shows with irregular airing will be dealt with accordingly
• The nominations for all shows will count as if they all had the same amount of episodes during this season. Shows with just 10, 11 or 12 episodes will get additional points based on the average they got so far to make it even.
• A show which is longer than one cour is eligible for the season until this season ends or reaches 13 episodes. Whichever comes first.

Results

• We will post an updated table each week to keep you updated about which Anime is leading so far.
• Every user who voted for the winning Anime has the chance to win a badge at the end of the year. So keep on nominating!
• A weekly ranking of the participating users will be shown as well!

Extra

• You are free to add up to three honorable mentions with your weekly votes.
• A Honorable Mentions table will be posted during week 6 and 13
• Please highlight your honorable mentions clearly and differently from your weekly votes.

Shaman King (2021) - Pretty good. I never watched the first series so this looks interesting
Boku no Hero Academia 5th Season - Lots going on but not much actual fighting.

SSSS.Dynazenon - It's a Trigger show! These start kinda ordinary, but then... wtf?
Shakunetsu Kabaddi - Not crazy over it as it is a sport I've never even heard of, but... hopefully it will get good.

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song - having high expectatives, there's good tension and the animation is just amazing.
Edens Zero - pretty good! Shiki and Rebecca are a really fun duo.
Shaman King -a decent start, as a manga reader not a fan of many things but the animation and especially the soundtrack were pretty good.

 

[Ramen]

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song - having high expectatives, there's good tension and the animation is just amazing.

Did they add more to the backstory of the first compared to the manga or is it just me hmm. Anyway, it was pretty good.

Hmmmm.... I'm pretty sure you guys watched a pre-air of Edens Zero. The first release of that show is actually on April 10, so it'll probably not be counted.

Yes you can. Also guys the rules have changed a bit.
Sunday shows do now count for the week they aired in.

I just saw Sky's post about Sunday shows. I'll add Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! as third pick then.

With Nomad: Megalo Box 2 as HM.

Honestly im not really hyped by this season, i still have to complete 2nd half of My Hero Academia season 4, except a couple of animes that i want to give a try, I d probably wont follow that much this season. And knowing how i am, i will probably end up watching only 1 or 2 animes at best.
That said i gave a try to Jouran: the Princess of Snow and Blood, bc visual reminded me Lady Snowblood. even the anime has some LS vibes, the historical setting and vengeance topic too. its visually beautiful, fights are nice , ost too, but it felt bland somehow, to me, i have no real interest in it, i might try to watch some other episodes but i will probably drop that.

but for this week i will nominate it since i have watched only this, Moriarty and Edens zero (which is not eligible).

1- Moriarty, as good as last season, still an interesting watch so far, not the best anime out there, but still entertaining and characters are really interesting.

2 - Jouran, as said above, visuals were beautful, so were the fights.

I didn't really watch a lot of things that are eligible for this week, so I'll go for these two series;

1. Shaman King - It's not super impressive, but it looks clean and gave me nostalgia vibes. So that was comfy
2. Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song (Ep1) - Didn't expect to like this really, but so far it's pretty nice. Love the visuals.
3. Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song (Ep2) - See statement above haha.

In this season there are many series that catch my attention. Although it is a shame that BC or JJK are gone.

It catches my attention:

1) BNH
2) Shaman King
3) mairimashita iruma-kun
3) Nagatoro
4) 86

and I don't know, maybe as an alternative:
1) Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu
2) Tokyo Avengers
3) Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy
4) Nikki tension
5) Hige wo Soru

These for now are the ones that catch my attention the most.
but I'm not going to see EZ, I find him bad and boring, not to mention that I can't think of him as Natsu and Lucy in space. and Sentouin, Hakenshimasu !, the kind of comedy these plays handle like konosuba. I find them overwhelming and they fill me up in a bad way
