Finally something Lucy related

So far all we know is that Anna is the Celestial Mage who sent the Dragonslayers and their Dragons to the future, we also know that Layla was the one to open the eclipse gate. This is an amazing feat mainly because back in the GMG arc Hisui needed to use the magical power of all the Mages fighting in the tournament to fill up enough magical power to open the gate. So how did Anna and Layla open it up by their self?

In the official translation of Fairytail chapter 465 Zeref said that Anna was form a Clan, looking at Anna's picture all that we can tell is that She had long light colored hair which could possibly be blonde just like Layla and Lucy, and how did Layla know what to do with the door? Could Anna, Layla, and Lucy be part of a powerful Celestial Mage clan. Could this clan be the ones who made the Celestial Spirit keys?

If true how will Anna and Layla's past affect Lucy.

I would also like to add that Brandish hates Layla and hates Lucy for being Layla's daughter.

In the official translation is mentioned that the desecendents of Anna chose where to open the gate.

Layla coud be a descendent of Anna's clan they passed the knowledge of the dragon's plan through generations. Until they arrived at a time where the ethernano was dense enough to make the dragon soul technique permanent withing the dragon slayers.

I think the Heartfilia Clan might have had an alliance with the dragons fighting for humanity. It might be why they helped with the Dragonslayer plan.

I wonder what connection they have to Natsu and Zeref as it seems they've played a huge role in their past.

I don't think finding enough magical power to fuel the gate was an issue. They had 5 dragons going along with the plan. The plan was for the Heartfilia family to monitor the ethernano levels until they found a time where it was high enough for the dragons to recover most of their power. They didn't have a specific era in mind. It was just who made the call first.

Anna was probably not just part of the clan, she was probably its leader

Think the clan is matriarchal (follows female as head of family and name passes through females). Anna was leader during her time: Layla during her time. So Jude took Layla's last name.

As oppose to most lines - Dragneels, Dreyars, Fullbusters - being patriarchal.

But it was always known the Heartfilia line was different.

"Eternity" is a really long time to make a contract for protecting your bloodline.

Especially when future Rogue said....

Even Lucy has been shown with a tendency to live. As she was one of few survivors of the dragon future and didn't get absorbed into Plugorium. .

In ancient civilizations, women goddesses usually did symbolize life as it is a female that carries the offspring or even the renewing of life (in the case of Isis from Egypt and even Anna from Rome)

Let's not forget the magic of the Heartfilias revolves around what we would consider white magic - building friendships and loving these seemingly immortal spirits. And the Stars which produce light in the night. Thus a very pure personification of magic.

With the limited information we have on the Hearfilia clan, it seems to me
almost like the "Heart"filia line represents life. Like every generation one will have to continue...

As oppose to the Dragneels who represents death. The Dragneel clan was meant to die off 400 years ago. Zeref survived and became immortal through a life-death curse.... becoming the most well known practicer of black magic. Natsu escaped death. As END, he uses curses. Larcade was one of those taboo creations, and he uses the wants of every living creature (sleep, sex, hunger) to kill people.

If you think about Rave master... the whole story line was about the conflict between two families who evolved every generation opposing each other - the Rare-grooves and the Glorys.

But think here, instead of being separate and conflicting.... these families work together. So instead of thinking of life and death as opposing forces. Really they are complementary partners.

I have thought and ... If Clan Heartfilia is a matriarchy? That is, by the agreement with Zeref was a woman who defined the leadership of the Clan by some relationship of power or genetic traits.
