zee, far , to what extent I can change the logo? xD Cuz its ruining my banner. Damn blue and red.

Sorry I couldn't reply any sooner. Unfortunately, we aren't allowed to modify the colours of the MH logo in any form. The original red and blue colours have to be kept standard in all banners. You are allowed to add minor effects surrounding the text but no colour change I'm afraid. I don't want to remove your submission so if you have the time to amend the logo in your current banner then I'll be able to accept it. I understand what you mean by the colours clashing so maybe what you could do is make the logo (with the original colours) standout by placing something behind it (in the same position). So the most simple method would be to place a small whtish square or other shape behind the logo similar to what Akia999 has done here.




If you can then let me or Farfalla know so if need be we'll extend the contest for a few hours or so. ^^;;;

Finally,2 more entries.I'm not alone anymore..

When it comes to the mh logo issue,I usually...
1)Put the logo in the banner first then adjust the colour of background to avoid clashing with the logo colour.
2)Avoid red,blue and colours that are particularly bright and saturated for background colour.
3)Add some effect to the text to let it stand out more.Stroke and outer glow works the best.(My christmas banner)
4)Put some thing at the back of the logo.(spring banner and mh birthday banner) One of the best way to incorporate more design into your banner.
Not exactly good advices but hope it helps anyone who have trouble with the logo.

Awn, if it was for other banners, the smaller ones, I'd say you could use a white or dark logo, but since those banners like the spring one will be used as MH main banner, we gotta keep the original colors >< I'll check if, for the future, we can reconsider it.

Anyway, good job you too! I see that you managed to solve your dilemma, Chefe xD If anyone face some difficulties about it again, you can use Akia's tips^^

The others still have 12h to submit their banners (just letting you guys know xD).

Kudos to TheBoss in managing to amend his banner in time! I'm so glad you managed to fix it! =D Be sure to consider Akia999's suggestions in regards to dealing with the MH logo for future banner contests! Really good points covered in that post! Thank you for sharing that with us, Akia!


Where the hell is kakashi, coffee, shinsatsu, darkdana, nanaD, Yaoi-yo (Yaotzin), Adorien, DeBaron8, zeltrax and sakura-aneki at!? It's ashame none of them have participated for a while now. We miss you all very much! I hope some will return very soon. =(

Sig contests are just somehow easier for me. You know, more basic. But I promised you already, I will make an entry in some banner contest. xD Just want to gain more skills and whatnot. I have to have fancier skills for a banner contest, or at least I feel that way. xD

It's usually the weird banner dimensions that kinda put some off tbh. Most of us are so use to the signatures that working in a smaller scale usually is a bit daunting. Well for me it was like that at first because I was more like "how the hell or what the hell am I suppose to fill the space up with!?" I can't use the normal approach for a banner but in actual fact when you start playing around with a banner design you'll be amazed how simple your ideas will be in the end. It will also look "full-ish". xD

So like TheBoss said, give it a go Adi-chwan~!
