I liked this challenge. I found that I had a few different ideas, and it was fun to toy with not only wordplay, but the arrangement of the sentences. Ultimately I went with the one I did because I like the way it forces the story into the reader's hands.

I'm curious as to what the first thing that came to your minds were. Despair is a word and feeling so personal to all of us that while we are united in that we all will experience it, it is something different to all of us.

And now, for a cute gif to spruce up the mood ~

Hmm what inspired me? The saying I guess: there's no place like home.

When things aren't looking too bright in your life, having a place that you can truly call home is very important. It greatly helps in keeping the positive vibes going even if everything else doesn't go as well as you have planned.

I tried to stay positive in my choice of a theme, I initially thought about writing something about a lost love, death and the Prince of darkness, but I thought that would be too emo/too edgy.

Plus it's summer, the Sun God is shining down on me and warming my cold and shriveled heart.

What Inspired me in mine is me. I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to doing things, and I hate leaving things halfway or uncompleted so I basically keep trying until I get it right XD

I'm quite glad to see so many entries. It's been a while since we had this much in a contest. And all the entries are really good, there are lots of extra goodies as well. The titles, comments, credits. Pretty amazing stuff guys!

The Portrait Photography contest is now open for entries and the Six Words Short Stories contest is also open for voting. We had quite a remarkable number of entries so everyone is allowed up to 4 votes.

Yes, you're allowed to use yourself as subject for the portrait

Does it have to be a human? You can also capture the personality of a pet for example.
