Question regarding the colouring contest
-Can we clean the image?
-Is there a much larger version of the image?
-I know that I can't retrace the image but am I allowed to extend the canvas size?

- By cleaning you mean what we do to mangaraws: making the white goes trully white, and the black goes trully black? SURE!
- I doubt. Isn't the one in the art gallery big enough? I can check with baratha if he has a bigger one.
- I don't see a problem in that, either, since you won't be affecting the linework.

I didn't realize that the original image itself was much bigger, so it's big enough for me.

Congratulations to baratha winner of the "Females" Drawing Contest! ​

I hope you give the colouring contest a try. I really like the way you used the different pencil tones to really bring out the character's posture. It would be cool to see you apply your pencil colouring skills into play with this new contest.

I began to make a lineart of the breaker contest last night, but reading the rules confused me~ "Tracing over said panel is not allowed" - Most lineart techniques for manga/manhwa (that Ive seen anyways) consist of creating your own lines using the pen tool by matching it as close as possible to the original lines.... does this count as 'tracing'??

Hopefully I'll have time to draw something to submit once semester is over. Looks like there are more participants than usual and I would like to join!

On another note, I would encourage all MH artists to try out dA's Holiday Card Project. I've never done it before, but I didn't know about it until today! It's a nice gesture and there are several talented artists around here that could make someone's day. Sorry about posting it here, but I didn't know what other section would be appropriate. Here is a link for more information.

Maybe I'll need Jin to confirm it, but I think that this rule says that re-doing the panel isn't allowed, like copying it. You're allowed to make your own drawing, even if you'll match some parts with the panel (tracing over those parts), but maintaining your original work. Tracing over the whole thing would be unecessary anyway xD

The tracing reference really applies to those who are using free hand drawing rather than pen tools on a software program. So you have no problem, Coffee, with your approach. If you were using a pre-made lineart from the internet then obviously that would be going against the rules. I do apologise if any of the rules seem slightly confusing. We'll definitely tweak them for future contests so that they're much clearer. ^.^

Ya I think that I wouldnt have enough time to make a complete lineart anyways, so I think I probably with shift over to just coloring it or something~ XD

( 3.3) my eyes... my poor eyes. at least i am done with the breaker fanart. the hair was both what i think i did best on the piece and the thing i hated doing the most... i did it backwards with the solid black shape then went in with the white and did the lighter portions. it seemed like a good idea at the time but after realizing that i was making his hair messy, it became extremely tedious and that's when my eyes started to hate me.

Suar! I love your interpretation of the panel xD (and how you played with the black and white fragments)! I don't think it looks tedious, that was quite smart.
