Nice one nana~ I am still debating what method to use for the animation. I'll try papers and pen, but if it does not work out, I will use computer graphics.

I found some videos of some simple animation techniques... quite interesting:

I like that they show old techniques for creating animations (the phenakitoscope and zoetrope)... I'm actually thinking of trying those myself XD (they would be difficult to film, but can be an exercise for creating movement)

Rotoscope can be another way to go... If you don't have a refined sense of movement, is a good option and you can experiment with it...

the animation contest is quite interesting. i can do some 3D with blender but this kinda came up at the bad time. i'll see if i have the time to give it a go (exams, nba finals, world cup and many other things)

Question!!!! So I've got all these frames but Windows Movie Maker is always running into the memory problem when saving/rendering the vid. I just couldn't get it working. Does anyone have a program recommendation where I can just dump all my jpgs and set their duration all in one go? I haven't tried my iMovie yet but it's a pretty old version and I don't think it can change everything in one go (too many frames to do it manually either...)

I think you can use Photoshop for that

If you mean Adobe ImageReady to make a gif, then 1000 frames is a bit too much ^^; My computer already ran incredibly slow when I was dealing with 800 layers on PS (which was silly of me at first... should have split the file.) Anyways, I have CS2, I can't make videos with it can I......?


EDIT: Oh wait, CS4 now I see. I'm sad lol (though I'm not sure how many frames it can handle either...)

Oh, I meant Photoshop xD There's an animation option there. But maybe 1000 frames is too much for it as well o.o I use CS5 D: So maybe that's why I have the option, I dunno. I'll ask my bf today, he'll prolly know

I would use Adobe Premiere for that, if you have it... I don't know of other softwares besides the ones you talked about already :T

Actually that is the end of Av. Beira-mar, the main avenue of the city, but is quite close to where I work. I was on my way to the mall when crossing an overpass and decided to take that.

And I just found out that the new Android Photos app has a tilt shift filter
So, I tried it out (this is the view from the office I work at):

Utsu, the video is so so pretty and peaceful. (I thought it was funny to see a Yakitori restaurant with a ramen noodle sign next to it, but I'm sure it was unintentional.)

Internet here at work is really shitty today, so I will watch your video again at home, because I ended up not watching in a high resolution and couldn't identify some of the kanji :T

Not that you have to read it, just your typical cheesy lines XD I've put subtitles on it too, YouTube is definitely convenient.

Dang it you noticed After drawing the street layout, I actually had to move around a few shops, and this lantern no longer had a ramen shop to go with (which ended up as the pottery shop), but it was too cute I felt bad for deleting it, so I just randomly dumped it in a space

Suppose a more professional take would require a lot of paper work and planning XD but since I wasn't too concerned for a simple sequence, I just had to roughly play random stuff on the piano while looking at the video, then add the black frames ^^

Is that an upcoming Sig contest I see???
Its been about a year since I've touched photoshop T_T
So I went in and made this sig to see if I still even could... (took me a while to remember all the shortcut keys I usually used, still dont remember the one for 'Apply Image')
I think it turned out pretty decent, I even tried a different style than usual (I think I was getting stuck doing the same things over and over)

so perhaps Ill enter this upcoming contest~
