Laxus dying isn't much of a factor, his inhuman body is able to put up with MBP's. Until a tipping point is reached, and then the body goes into a fit. Once that happened Laxus indeed got stomped, until Wall gave Laxus MP. I just look at the brawls, and I see Laxus vs Wall to be on a higher level than Chronos v TO-Sherria.

I call it more impressive because Jellal is a spriggan tier too, in my view. It doesn't help Irene that Wendy is there to counter her stuff. But not every fight has to be equally impressive (rarely are they)... tell me which one is more impressive - Irene vs Acno OR Irene vs Erza/Wendy. Maybe August will have a vs Erza/Wendy fight in the future... who knows.

No idea what you were getting at with that Etherion analogy, but it comes down to this. Erza shouldnt have had to get rid of Sand World, she should have been able to defeat Azir in it. Either by reacting to when he manifests himself and slashing him or simply tanking Azir's throat grab and cutting off his arm. Many ways Erza could have won if she had the strength, but she didnt, so she doesnt.
Water sword worked, Nakagami worked, which is more than enough for Erza to display her powers since 95% of her abilities revolves around slashing. Azir was far more limited by wind disadvantage and not having Ant Lion Pit.

Jura didn't train like Laxus did, and CS aren't that weak. Jellal could solo Jura easily.
A 'dying Laxus' can produce a nuke that 'might' oneshot Ajeel. Erza simply not at that level.

Laxus dying isn't much of a factor, his inhuman body is able to put up with MBP's. Until a tipping point is reached, and then the body goes into a fit. Once that happened Laxus indeed got stomped, until Wall gave Laxus MP. I just look at the brawls, and I see Laxus vs Wall to be on a higher level than Chronos v TO-Sherria.
I call it more impressive because Jellal is a spriggan tier too, in my view. It doesn't help Irene that Wendy is there to counter her stuff. But not every fight has to be equally impressive (rarely are they)... tell me which one is more impressive - Irene vs Acno OR Irene vs Erza/Wendy. Maybe August will have a vs Erza/Wendy fight in the future... who knows.
Now I know you're trying to sort out the logic used to place Laxus highly, and why people don't do that for Erza, but we can agree to disagree on this interpretation. I don't want to be rude, however it seems you have a penchant for making things about Laxus vs Erza. I understand you might see it as a hypocrisy within the community, and I'll agree Laxus gets wanked a fair bit and Erza gets trashed more often, but it gets a little absurd that in a August vs Irene thread all of a sudden Laxus becomes a bulk part of the discussion. Outside of August and Irene, I would be using Acnologia, Erza, Jellal/CS, Ajeel, Historias (Kyoka, Azuma, Ikarugam), Bereserker soldiers, and Neinhart before Laxus. Even Brandish' stab would and then put to sleep... that would usurp any comparison to Laxus. I'm partly pointing this out because this is bordering off topic.

Azir didnt explain anything, he taunted her. Erza could see him and Azir needs to manifest himself to attack, that should have been enough for her. Its not like teleporting enemies is anything new.
No idea what you were getting at with that Etherion analogy, but it comes down to this. Erza shouldnt have had to get rid of Sand World, she should have been able to defeat Azir in it. Either by reacting to when he manifests himself and slashing him or simply tanking Azir's throat grab and cutting off his arm. Many ways Erza could have won if she had the strength, but she didnt, so she doesnt.
Water sword worked, Nakagami worked, which is more than enough for Erza to display her powers since 95% of her abilities revolves around slashing. Azir was far more limited by wind disadvantage and not having Ant Lion Pit.

All Marin did was stop Erza from requiping into her counter to Azir, Wind Armor, without that armor she spent "who knows how long" as you put it, in that Sand Storm, unable to escape. Makes it clear what a crutch that armor was, since she couldnt escape without it. All Marin did was prevent Erza from using her elemental advantage over Azir, you know.... make the fight a little more fair.... hahaha.

It's not really about being an Erza fan or not. Personally erza has always been one of my favourite characters. But i'm just not going to pretend that Erza is Laxus's equal.
