Something funny, don't know if you could say that it's a foreshadowing: In chapter 157, there's a seacat sea monster that rises its right paw. This sort of looks like one of those Maneki Neko (winking cat) figures, and IIRC this pose should wish luck for money. In the end of Arabasta arc, Nami disclaim the money that Igaram promised her for bringing Vivi to Arabasta - but in the end of Skypiea, they received that great treasure in Shandora that could be converted to 300 million berry in Water 7.

Luck ... succeeded!

Some of the stories Usopp have told during the series have came true at some point during the Straw Hats' journey. As Rosco12 said there was meeting a Giant Goldfish (as the crew was leaving Little Garden), fighting against a giant mole (against Miss Merry Christmas during the climax in the Alabasta arc) and another that I don't remember.
Maybe someone should make a list of the lies?

That Mikio came from Mikio Itoo which is a mangaka too, and a fellow assistant of Oda for Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin). His bounty poster seem to be one of Oda's easter egg earlier in the series.

I know right? I shitted bricks too at that time. I so want to have a Wano (Edo/samurai) arc in the New World which I am assuming could help Zoro polish his swordsmanship and maybe could finally introduce us the first dragon in the series..

BurnSchulz made me remember the allusions to Captain John Silver. In chapter 233 we see Buggy search for "The legendary Cave" on a "Skull Island". On 450/451 we are introduced to Captain John as one of the Zombie generals and after the fight Luffy get's to keep a armband, which in 527 is revealed to be a Treasure map by greedy Buggy.

As far as I can remember, it's one of the covers where Oda illustrates a pair of characters in a specific theme. And Aokiji was paired with Tsuru (IIRC). So I don't think it forshadowed anything.

The scissor with the "bambus"-like tree could represent cutting of unneeded ties. "Bamboo grows very straight, and because of its fresh green color, it is a symbol of purity." Akainu purified the Marines too. :P
