The last station Baam with everything vs a heavily restricted current Baam

Location : The nest
Restrictions : current Baam can only use shinsu loops and his basic shinsu skills (wave explosion, bang blasts, previously copied skills, etc). Everything else is restricted.

A little summary of Baam's powers.
Inner entities/Powers
-Red Thryssa
-Blue Thryssa
-Souls
-Revolution

Weapons
-1st Thorn
-2nd Thorn
-Black March

Multiplier-type skills
-Orb
-Shinsu loops
-Shinwonryuu

Others
-Transformation

Basically, all of the above assets, bar Shinsu loops, are restricted for the current Baam.
The Last station Baam can use everything in his arsenal.

S2 (Last station) Baam's feats
Vs Charlie
V1 Baam
Used assets : 1st Thorn
White noise which is not very effective against Rankers dazed his senses completly, leaving him in a vulnerable state.

SIU's comment about the fight :
"Regardless of specs, there's an incredibly big experience and technique gap between Baam and rankers. Since this battle is on-going, please stand by for the next chapter! Various supplemental explanations will be given afterwords in the afterwords then in a careful, organized manner"
Source

Vs Charlie + the vice altar director (two Rankers)
V2 Baam
Used assets : 1st Thorn + Black March + Revolution
Revolution takes a toll on Baam's body, however BM noted that she can do stretch the duration in which he can use this power a bit.
With revolution + Thorn + Orb-Shinwonryu :
-Charlie's white noise became irrelevant (since Shinwonryuu absorbed it).
-He overpowered Whaley, said to whistand most attacks, in a single hit while erasing Charlie's shinsu like nothing in his way.
-He neutralized the vice altar-director shinsu attack very easily, which heavily surprised him.

Charlie noted that giving Baam's destructive capactiy, it's not possible to overpower him for range, leaving either close combat or battle of attrition as viable options.

SIU's notes about this version of Baam :
"Crazy Baam" with the Black March looks to be dangerous even to Rankers"
Source

"I know there will be a lot of debate on Baam's power level, and one thing's for sure: if Baam brings up all his strength for a moment to attack, Rankers may feel threatened..? The thing is that fights are not decided by strength alone. However, Baam's potential is starting to be expressed at a horrifyingly powerful level it seems. Of course, there's still a ways to go on that ^^;"
Source

V3 Baam
Used assets : 1st Thorn + Black March stab + Revolution
The flare wave explosion used through Black March easily overpowered both Charlie and the vice altar director's attacks with killing intent at once. Both of them admitted that they'd have been desintegrazed if they were to be even grazed by it.

SIU's note about this version of Baam :
"In Baam's fight scene, we can see him using the power of Black March like his own as well. Rankers have to admit that this attack would kill them if they were to be even grazed by it, so..."
Source

Vs Kallavan
V3 Baam
Used assets : 1st Thorn + Black March stab + Revolution
The same skill that easily overpowered Charlie and the vice altar director's attacks with killing intent at once and made them admit that they'd have been desintegrazed if they were to be even grazed by it couldn't scratch Kallavan or even hurt him slightly.

V4 Baam
Used assets : 1st Thorn (Stab) + Black March (stab) + 2nd Thorn + Revolution
Baam stopped an essence of bravery attack and then made Kallavan's wound a bit bigger by hitting him headon with his transcendental skill. A destructive capacity surpassing average HR tier.

SIU's note about this version of Baam :
"Baam, as shown in his duel with Urek Mazino, has a power that cannot be defined in terms of strong and weak, unable to be rivaled. That's the impression. I mean, Ha Jinsung's expectations on Baam ultimately came from his trust in the potential of said power. It isn't a stretch for Kallavan to be surprised at his growing wound."
Source

SIU second note :
"Looking back, it shows you just how not just Ha Jinsung, who opened up full power Kallavan's belly, but also Baam who dealt some damage to Kallavan. Baam's offensive power is already quite something, but it also works on all tiers of enemies. Of course, you can't say White is weaker than Baam, but Baam's one attack seems more powerful in that it damaged Kallavan."
Source

S3 Baam feats
Vs Pan
Used assets : Shinsu loops
Outcome : Baam won high/extreme diff (he was exhausted and injured after the fight), however he barely used anything other than his very basic skills. Even in terms of pure abilities no Orb, no Shinwonryuu, no transformation, etc were used. Even the loops were most likely launched at the very beginning of the fight.

Vs R's twin
Used assets : Shinsu loops
Outcome : Baam won with difficulty.
SIU's comment about the fight :
"on Baam's fight, we see Baam make the Ranker kneel. Even if he's a Ranker, there's large variety in power among them, there is the advantages and the disadvantages to consider, and most importantly he hasn't used any metamorphosis techs, so it can't be outright be said that Baam is Ranker-tier, but he can certainly be a threat. With the Thorn activated, even a Houndborn Ranker with Metamorphosis techniques would not be sure of his chances against Baam. His attack for sure at least is reaching new heights. The fight was indeed cut short by Gado, but Baam still had a few cards he could have still played, so the match probably would have gone the same."
Source

Vs Daleet
Used assets : shinsu loops + Red Thryssa transformation + Khun&Rak's support (Khun's Yeon flame is a powerful support even in elite Ranker tier fight as shown in the Berdych vs Venti duel).
Result : RakKhunBaam won mid-High diff without KI.
SIU's comment about the fight :
"Baam's fight finally ends. Baam used metamorphosis and shinsoo together. It wasn't a bloodmatch, but Baam told Delete that they are stronger, and Delete told Baam that he is stronger. There's a lot of variables at play in this fight, and a Ranker's skills depend on their weapons or abilities, so Baam can't be put on Ranker tier with just this one fight, but this does show with proper support, he can face off against a regular Ranker and surpress them. In terms of balance and the opponents Baam face, it is difficult to have many Baam vs Ranker fights, and due to the time frame at work here, the ends of the two fights had to coincide rougly, so it may have been rough in the middle, so I am sorry to the readers that felt uncomfortable with it. Sometimes, I have to push on stories for the reasons I can't help, and it is hard on me too. Please be more understanding.

In summary, in the fight between Baam and Delete, Baam got the upper hand, and it indeed was accomplished without the power of the Thorn, but this doesn't necessarily put Baam as equal to a Ranker in power. There was a lot of conditions in play such as support from Khun and Rak, among other things I tried to emphasize, but if they felt unnatural, that is my bad. There will be more fights with Rankers however, and although for Regulars Rankers are a wall they cannot overcome (except for Baam, who as an irregular can now consider it perhaps possible), and Baam will definitely face rankers beyond Delete, so Baam will continue to be the underdog and face increasingly more difficult fights."
Source

Vs Charlie
Used assets : Shinwonryuu, Red Thryssa transformation
Result : Charlie's needle was broken, the fight was interrupted.
SIU's statement about the fight :
"Mr. Charlie, not sure if you know him (...) back at the Last Station, people kept calling him by his job title, so people may not remember his name (Well, there weren't exactly any flags set for his return). This guy is actually a quite elite Ranker compared to the Test Ranker. He's like a guy that passes the Civil Service exam in his 20's. It's hard for me to say because I don't know too much about how the Civil Service Exam works and the Tower is much larger than Korea, so a 1 to 1 comparison is not really feasible. There are so many rankers across multiple fields, there's a lot of gaps in the myriad of skills between them.

Anyway, Elite Ranker Charlie vs Baam. Despite being against a Ranker, he fends him off expertly, which surprises the military. It's like seeing a kid genius from a TV show. It's scary to see such unbelievable talent. Hwaryeon's great at making Baam's image in that regard."
Source

Vs Gado (7th level partial transformation)
1st phase of the fight
Used assets : Red Thryssa transformation
Outcome : Baam did well by survivng three long chapters against his continuous assaults.
SIU's comment about the fight :
"This chapter has a lot of fight scenes. Baam managed to manifest via metamorphosis the Red Bari, but it seems like it's not enough to do anything about Gado. Honestly, Baam standing up to Gado, as a Regular against a High Ranker, even being able to stand up to him is a huge feat. Of course, he's also getting plot armor, haha. Well, I hope you look forward to seeing how Baam recovers from this mess!"
Source
SIU's 2nd comment about the fight :
"Baam can't get a grip because of Gado's strong attacks. Like I said last week, it's already remarkable that a Regular like Baam is able to even survive this long ^^;; Of course, due to various external circumstances Gado can't actually try to kill Baam properly. This is when you need to give plot armor to your main characters. Anyway, just as Baam is about to be overwhelmed by Gado's attacks, we see Evankhell's message. Everyone, this is why you always stay where the wifi works best and make sure you take important calls. Haha..."
Source

2nd phase of the fight
Used assets : Red Thryssa 2nd level transformation + 1st Thorn
Outcome : even prior to Canzon's appearance, Baam's 2nd level transformation injured Gado's leg, the latter admitted that he should finish Baam quickly before he controls his transformation better.
SIU's comment about the fight :
"Anyway, we see Baam with the Thorn for the first time in a while. Even with the Thorn, since he's facing a High Ranker this can't be easy, but I hope you look forward to how the story will progress."
Source

3rd phase of the fight
Used assets : Red Thryssa 2nd level transformation + 1st Thorn + Shinwonryuu + Canzon's help
Outcome : Baam sliced Gado's leg in a single hit (2nd level transformation + Shinwonryuu) after he got immobilized by Canzon.
SIU's comment about the fight :
"it's Zon underestimating Baam -> Baam's attack -> a force that puts Zon's estimate to shame. Gado's feet getting cut off feels like it makes Baam OP, but Thorn + Red Bari buff is in play, and looking at the lore face value out looking at their specs, something even more over the top wouldn't have been crazy for these guys, so.... I feel like narratively I have to keep them in check normally and then jump forward on weeks like this. It's hard ^^; Manhwa is hard. In conclusion, Baam is a regular but is also REALLY dangerous...?"
Source

Direct comparison between current Baam (with base power) and s2 Baam (with multipliers), from SIU :
"Baam's new skills, since these are being cast without the Thorn, may look like they're on a weaker scale, but unlike the previous training, this isn't an additive power up, but more so a skill/physical development of Baam's capacity of himself. If he used the Thorn here or used the Revolution to bring out his inner powers.. it'd be stronger, but I want to show Baam's improved basic skills and techniques for a while. I hope you look forward to the Mad Dog fight next week."
Source

Your thoughts ?

Personal subjective verdict :
Personnally, I think current Baam with his very basic power (no multiplier) has less raw power than a low level Ranker but more skill. This was shown in his fight against Pan, the latter was noted to be stronger physically and his damage output more powerful, however Baam still masterfully countered/dodged his moves until he found an opening and ended the fight.

While SIU noted that there is a massive experience gap between s2 Baam and a Ranker, current Baam in contrast was said to be way more experienced than Pan (a low level Ranker). Chalie for example could easily find openings in s2 Baam's guard unlike the current version.

So, in summary, Baam with a shlightly weaker shinsu power and body can still beat weak Rankers with higher level skills. In contrast, s2 Baam is drastically outmatched in terms of skill/experience but his raw power so overwhelming that it can wipe Ranker's shinsu attacks as well as their body with just little graze, however he has stamina issues.

In other hands, Chalie saying he could see openings in s2 Baam's posture doesn't mean he can just one shot him whenever he wants. When he tried to close the gap, Baam reacted without much struggle and blocked his way with his insane DC, so he had to find one way of another to attack him at close combat which wasn't easy (and that was just V2 Baam).

So, if s2 Baam was restricted to just his V2 or maybe even V3 versions, then I'd favor current Baam more times than not as he can just play arround trying ot outlast his s2 self.

V4 s2 Baam however is quite problematic, as noted in the fight against data Jahad, Thorn stab is like doping, Baam's stats reach a whole another level, this was shown through his skills (Triple Orb-Shinwonryuu, Stardust) and how he pressured data Jahad while he was overwhelmed most of the fight.
It impacts his stamina more but his attacking range, power and speed is way harder to deal with. It's insure whether current Baam can continuously dodge/deal with his attacks with his basic power alone.

So, overall, I'd say it can go either way.

This. Last station Baam was a unrefined gem current Baam with his infinite shinsoo loop would stomp.

The current Baam (in base) is a whole different level. Now imagine if he had boarded The Hell Train with that form and met incomplete Hoaqin, he’d have destroyed him to bits lol

I also agree that current Baam wins this. Dunno about the difficulty, but even with the nerfs he seems to be comparable to an average Ranker, while previously it didn't look like he was up there yet even with all his power. His skills are much more refined and has more experience in battle than his Season 2 self too, so that's another plus. Charlie commented on how he barely showed any weak points, unlike when they fought in the Nest.

The only two Rankers that current Baam fought with nothing more than Shinsu loops are Pan and R's twin, the first is a low level test Ranker and the second was nerfed (no transformation). Baam was also struggling to keep up with their raw power as he only won by playing defensively, waiting for the right moment to strike (Fast Skip+Wave explosion).
In contrast, the Last station Baam (heavily armed) was overwhelming both Charlie (an elite Ranker) and his superior (most likely an elite Ranker as well), with far higher destructive capacity (he would've wiped them with a single graze) when he still had Thorn ignition and the second Thorn in reserve.
You may argue that the current Baam wins but this is in no way a one sided stomp.

The last station Baam wasn’t using that power without setbacks, he was pushing his limit to the point he was losing stamina (Black March helped him out) plus he was using every power at his disposal to hold against those rankers, while This current Baam (in base) has easily defeated Charlie without the help of both neither the thorn and black march. The current Baam easily wins for me. Plus The last station Baam cannot even defeat the Baam that fought Gado let alone this one that’s battling monsters

He was using a lot of things but not everything, with Thorn ignition he reaches a whole another level, he also kept two elite Rankers at once. Doubt the current Baam (in base) can replicate his feat.

He broke his needle with a Red Thryssa transfomration so not in base, he also used Shinwonryuu. Both of these are restricted here.
Against Gado, he used Red Thryssa transformation and then the Thorn on top of the transformation + Shinwonryuu as well. This Baam is dramatically superior to the base one who was struggling against Pain and R's twin without transformation.

I honestly don't see how it could be difficult for the current Baam unless he wants a ranged battle, but he would probably die if hit once. I didn't consider the loops because he needs preparation for that. Baam knows himself, S2 Baam with the Thorn and stuff is just him but with more raw power, he had stamina issues and all of this put a strain on him.

He can face him at close range, outmatch him with his vastly superior close combat skiIls and beat him with the Floral Butterfly techs IMO.

In a ranged battle, although S2 Baam has more power, S3 Baam should be able to create way more Baangs. If S3 Baam has the loops ready it's hard for me to see him lose even at long range.

He can face him at close range
It's not easy, Charlie tried to that in the last station but s2 Baam easily reacted to him and blocked his way with his insane DC. And this s2 Baam wasn't even close to his full power with Thorn ignition.

S3 Baam should be able to create way more Baangs
This is irrelevant, data Jahad attacked him with a 20+ bangs and then in the last station Charlie and his superior attacked him with something like 30 Bangs (both combined), both were easily overpowered by s2 Baam.
Plus, SIU himself said that current base Baam's scale is weaker than heavily armed s2 Baam.

Last Station Baam wins and it probably isn't close. The Thorn, Black March and Shinwonryu create too much of a disparity in power.

Skill and experience matter, but power matters a whole lot more. Baam has been walking evidence of this all throughout the series, routinely trouncing people far older and more learned and refined than him.

But that's Charlie. Would S3 Baam really not know how to approach his 2 years younger and less experienced self? I don't think so.

Yeah when it comes to a fight at range S3 would probably lose, need to reread this arc.

I just reread the fight of Season 2 Baam against the Rankers. He definitely has more raw power than the nerfed Season 3 version that is taken here, but he also has less skill and experience. It's like a skilled master with more experience going up against a powerhouse that has more power than him but less skill and experience. Whoever wins, it's definitely not going to be an easy fight IMO. The gap of power can be compensated with skill and experience, just like a gap of skill can be compensated by having more power (I think this more or less applies in this case, since the gap in both cases isn't that massive).

I still think that in the end Season 3 Baam will win the fight. Even if he can't get in close combat easily and stands at a disadvantage at the distance due to the difference in raw power, the Season 2 Baam can't keep his full power forever, since that much power puts a high strain in his body. At the end, I see the battle being a contest of endurance. A contest in which, from my perspective, the Baam from Season 2 has the higher chances to lose.

Yes, we already had Baam vs Viole in hidden floor arc and we all know how that fight turned out. The current him can definitely defeat the past him

Not the same scenario. Hidden Floor Viole was just plain weaker than the real thing (no Thorn, among other things) and was ultimately the Tower's sad attempt at replicating something that couldn't be.

Baam/Viole relationship isn't comparable to the one in this thread, it's also way more complexe.

I agree that Baam VS Data Viole is different but I still don't see Base S3 Baam having trouble approaching S2 Baam.

Knowledge alone isn't enoug. s3 Baam (in base) can't speedblitz s2 Baam, so he must overpower him from range, which he can't. His only viable option is outlasting.

??? He has Blue Oar, he doesn't have to use ranged attacks to get close to him.
