Hi there everybody,
In the latest chapters it has become clear that the pirate Bartolomeo has a deep connection with luffy, it even seems that he's on his side. So who could he be? either he's purely new to the show and will bring new revelations about luffy, or he's an already introduced character and an old acquaintance of luffy...Yes, I'm talking to the only guy who knew both ace and luffy and has great connections with them, Sabo. Now whether the latter is even still alive is questionable, but it was heavily implied that he was saved by Dragon the revolutionary...But how could a once composed and kind boy turn into a brutal pirate nicknamed the cannibal, well that could be due to several reasons starting with the incident with the tenryuubitou, furthermore this is only the public opinion about Bartolomeo so we never know his true intensions, but one thing for sure, his hatred for the nobles which was hinted and is shared by sabo. So what do you think guys ?

Many have speculated on this matter, and although I do not believe Barto-bro to be Sabo, I definitely think that Barto is there on Sabos' behalf. There have been clear indications of Sabo being alive as well, so I'm very very hopeful because I love all three of the brothers, both Ace, Luffy and Sabo.

What a crazy theory ! Since they are brothers I dont think Sabo will send someone to meet him, like when ace waited luffy in arabasta, and he doesnt look like sabo at all, but what if - here's my crazy theory - he's here on Alvida's behalf. It has been a while since her last apparition. Maybe she became a great pirate in the NW, since she loves luffy and everybody knows now ace and luffy are brothers, the Mera mera no mi could help her being closer to him

I don't think so. Sabo is pretty much alive, now how could he have turned into the current bartolomeo, well here's one of my speculations: Sabo was with revolutionists. After hearing about Ace's death and luffy's disappearance he became a pirate to look for the latter. He then unleashed his wrath on corrupted people and became famous.

Sabo is alive because : the page a few posts up/ next to ace's grave there is a box with 3 sake cups and a bottle on it, and nailed to the grave is the newspaper announcing the return of the Strawhats. Sabo put all that there to show Ace that their little brother is well and following his dream.

Unless Oda chooses to later contradict what he stated in his own databook, we have solid evidence that the lad is dead. Why theorize that everyone and their sister is going to be Sabo? Besides, having his two brothers dead is a major foundation of Luffy's character, of his loyalty to his friends, and I really prefer him this way. Isn't it better to let Sabo be a fond memory, rather than risk a cheesy return from the dead that likely won't live up to your expectations?

As for the above page, the phrasing is ambiguous and could be refering to burns and wounds that any of the civilian refugees from Grey Terminal received in the great fire.
Maybe Oda did leave an opening on purpose back then because he hadn't yet decided what to do with Sabo in the future, I'll grant you that. But if he stated since then that the boy didn't survive the incident, then he's as dead as can be. And we don't want Edo Tensei bullshit in One Piece, do we?

Here is the section on Sabo from One Piece Green: Secret Pieces where it states that Sabo did lose his life during the incident with the World Noble.

As for the Revolutionaries it was clearly hinting at it being Sabo the were getting medical supplies but it could just as easily be any number of the Gray Terminal residents as well and now with the confirmation of his death if it was Sabo he didn't survive his wounds.

And as for the cups it could be any number of people who left them, maybe Dadan even or someone from the Whitebeard Pirates that Ace told about Sabo and Luffy.

I find it highly unlikely that Barto is Sabo, he doesn't look like him at all (he has bari bari so his appearence ist't affected by DF) and if he was Sabo he would recognize Lucy at first sight. But c'mon with Oda you never know Who could have guessed that someone like Buggy could become a shichibukai (I mean before he got all his folowers and letter from WG). But I really doubt that.

As for "Sabo is dead" thing.
After the cover of chapter 668 I am more or less sure he is alive. Well Oda didn't really confirmed he is dead. For example in SBS Volume 68:

In the "From the Decks of the World" picture, there were three sake cups in front of Ace's grave!!! Is it alright to think THAT person visited Ace's grave?? O: Right, this is the image from chapter 668 that's in this very volume, but when it appeared in Jump, the advertisement messages covered up some parts and readers couldn't see it all very well. But at that time, the One Piece Exhibition was in Tokyo, and the person who wrote this letter went and saw the original image to confirm. You can also confirm it with this very volume. As for what you should think when you see this, well, I'll leave that to your imaginations for now.

It's true that in OP Green it was said that he died, but it could mean that person known as Sabo, child of nobles from Goa kingdom died that day (this is just my speculation). I have read somewhere that even in OP Deep blue he is confirmed dead, but seriously if I read that someone like Sabo is alive in a databook I'll be really pissed because it's way huge SPOILER .

Well that will be plain ridiculous if Oda draw something like that and in the end it turns out it was just someone from WP. Oh and next to those cups is newspapers that looked like one which was about returning of Strawhats. It was just like saying our little brother is safe and sound and it isn't neccesary to look after him anymore.

One Piece Green only recounts "known" facts. You can't expect Oda to give spoilers to future plot in his databooks.
