Thankfully that's not the case, it's a confirmed sequel. The same staff who made the series is responsible for the movie so I have a lot of faith in them creating something really good :zomg

I thought movies for animes were usually in reflection of the anime series with some new information/visuals/storyline to further tell the story?

It depends. The new thing is for compilation movies, re-editing the TV series into movie form, with some subtle changes. They've done that for Gurren Lagann, Higashi no Eden, and Madoka Magica, among others. AnoHana is also getting a compilation movie, but with the story retold from a different point of view, which should significantly change the plot, and require some new content. A lot of times the will do compilation movies first, followed by new content. The first two Madoka Magica movies were reedited versions of the TV show, the third movie will be new content.

That's such a tough question. If I had to choose, I'd probably say Steins;Gate. But in truth other shows like Gintama, TTGL and DRRR!! are close to my heart. Like you can see, vastly different shows, but all with different qualities.

Compilation movies aren't really new a thing. The original NGE had one, the last several Gundam series have had them. Usually with the promise of having additional footage added that wasn't in the TV series.

Like you said in my thread, I think every character was great. Even the supporting case was epic. Simon was awesome, Kadota was awesome, and so were his friends. Kida's increased role was one of the best things about the second half. His role was as more of a clown in the first half, important, but in the back round. His evolution in the second half, especially as the plot thickened, was extraordinary. I only vaguely remember Blai using Izaya avy's. I remember your Shizuo avy's much more clearly. He is one who's screen time really was reduced in the second half, after the Slasher arc. He still seemed to always be in the right place at the right time though.

I don't know if I could pick out a single favorite either. Even a top ten might be hard. I feel like I'd neglect something. The list would probably change with my mood.

Choosing a favourite anime is just impossible, there's such a great amount of awesome shows out there. Like Nuno said, they each have their own strong qualities so it's pretty hard to compare them or to decide which one is the best.

Though Nuno still is a novice when it comes to watching anime

If I had to think about favourites, I would probably name the anime that I will never forget about.... on the top of my head
