Shounen Beet The Vandel Buster

Yes it's an old series. Yes Viz stopped printing it. But so what? It's a great classic shonen manga and anime series that is quite underrated imho.

Beet wants to defeat the devilish Vandels and their legion of monsters and marry his childhood friend Poala (who isn't too fond of Beet deciding such things on his own!)
just like the legendary Busters that he admired growing up. Along the way he will meet and team up friends and allies and master the awesome power of the Saiga!
Spirit weapons unique to the user and what is unique about Beet...he's got five of them! How did he get such power and how can he wield it in order to win?
Well that's what reading or watching is for! Although to be fair finding it may prove a challenge.

the point of this thread is to see if there's anyone besides me who is a fan of this series.

New chapter is out....in Japan.

Yes this series is still on going. It's just not being officially translated into English anymore.
However there are unofficial Edited Mangas online which go up to chapter 67 (the chapters are like 40 pages each so it's actually a good bit of content)

You might have read or watched it back in the day but the anime stopped around Volume 7 and Viz stopped publishing at Volume 12.
There are 17 volumes, 16 of which have been scanlated.

If you love The Adventures of Dai it's by the same author/artist team so you probably will love Beet The Vandel Buster too.

It's very RPG adventurish.

Ok so for whatever reason the fan translator stopped.

Beet the Vandel Buster is still on going in Japan. Volume 19 is out in Japanese.

I have not been able to read past chapter 74 however I read an autotranslate of the summary of the latest chapters on the Jump SQ Rise site.

It appears it has 80 chapters released. This is just a guess but I think Beet the Vandel Buster will end up around 100 chapters to 150 chapters.
I don't see it reaching 200 chapters. This might seem like a lot less than The Adventures of Dai but the chapters in Beet are longer.
