LOL yeah I knew you'd talk about the trolls. And what happens afterwards is even more gruesome. I just think it's the result of Miura's twisted mind lol, or maybe he wants us to be disgusted by the kind of world Guts lives in . A world were even horses can rape you . Also I've noticed Miura's obsession with phallic shapes. There's plenty of monsters shaped like penises.

This, the level of violence never bothered me but he is exaggerating with the rapes IMO.

Yeah I agree, the rape seems a bit unnecessary. Oh well we kinda signed for it since the golden age arc.

We didn't. During the eclipse it had a meaning, albeit a twisted one. After that it was super unnecessary most of the times. But I'm not too happy with many parts after the Golden Arc anyway.

(Also, the release schedule is horrible. Miura can do what he wants, but in my opinion he's hurting his own piece. Two or three chapters per yer with little content is ridiculous. I wouldn't even mind if Berserk ended…)

Caska almost getting raped by the brigands and later by Guts wasn't exactly unnecessary. There's also Charlotte's near rape by the old king. The only instances were it really felt unnecessary had demons and other creatures involved, which as far as we know could have no intellect, and would fuck everything that comes their way. It's prolly intentional from Miura, to further establish how fucked up is the world in Berserk. But I agree that Miura tends to overuse it, especially with the trolls.

Phew! I finally caught up. So Griffith fancies himself a god now. Well he sorta is but still. And he's always drawn in blinding white. Hurts my eyes. Anyway he's portrayed with grace. Most times he doesn't even seem different from the original one. Have to remind myself about the eclipse to recall he's evil.
Falconia is a pretty neat setup. Guts is almost gonna look like the villain when he takes down Griffith and by extension tears down the whole setup.
As for Rickert, I always wondered how he would be when he met Griffith. I think he handled it pretty well.

Now I'm forced to join the wait for new chapters and all.
But like gnut and others said, it was totally worth it.

I've thought about the narrative a lot, and I sort of wonder how Guts would even be capable of fighting Griffith and tearing that all down. Unless there's some sort of crazy asspull with Hanafubuku or something.

If he manages to do it, unless Miura is thinking of something like Guts dying and sacrificing himself for humanity, Jesus style The Hanafubuku king is a real mystery at this point, and we've been waiting years for him to finally appear. I imagine him like a big fat Puck, in fact the latter could be related to him lol.But it would be cool if he was something more grand, like what we've seen in Gigantomakhia.Anyway if he can cure Caska, he's bound to have some pretty awesome upgrade for Guts.

I think the healing Caska thing is going to be at best, totally bittersweet, at worst, a giant disappointment. Great power or great feats come at huge prices in Berserk...

i for one can't wait to see her deal with the night demons and how she handles it...as caska(if she is even remotely close to caska pre-eclipse),warrior tough badass caska.xD
as far as the love....im not sure of,if she remembers after the fact guts tried raping her.
then ofc,she will remember what mr.femto griffs did to her and her fellow comrades.this is the part of the story i'm very much looking forward to seeing...caska back means guts has someone besides skullknight who understands his burden.
i think it will push them closer together,their love...but the brand is strong and guts is a rare man.
i want to see caska and how she deals with it...like right now!!!

I'm just like SK. She may choose not to be sane, because she can't deal with all the horror, that's why she lost her sanity in the first place I think. If she does, she might not get back with Guts right away, I mean he tried to kill their child whom he thought was a spawn of hell, then he tried to rape her twice iirc. You can clearly see that she's afraid of him when he tries to protect her.She may remember all these things...Anyway I can't see them becoming lovebirds again so soon.
Also him being rejected might be the thing needed to bring him back to the continent and exact his revenge on Griffith, but not before making sure Caska is safe.So yeah I'm looking forward to them reaching Elfhelm, while it was cool to see Falconia I really would have preferred to see them at least get close to the island. So many years have passed and they're still not there...

I'm 31. I first read the manga in 2008. Good god, I was 25.

I'm close to 36. I've been reading since 1994 when a Japanese pen pal started sending them to me translated on sticky notes. Trying to get chapters back in those days was a motherfucker and a half. Around 2000 you could get the volumes twice a year from this junky old forum via IRC. It took FOREVER to download it. I remember transferring them via IM file transfers to my friends over days. Man, the Internet has come a long way...
