No I think I'll simply move on.Some great things like Berserk should stay in manga form either way. No adaptation could really do the manga justice.

I did enjoy the Berserk video games. I would definitely take that over CGI anime movie or whatever.

I hate being a fussy bitch, but the animation doesn't look too convincing. Oh well, I guess it's better than nothing; hopefully it is decent enough to sate my hunger for any Berserk content before the next chapter is released next year (not sure if the anime is going to be broadcasted before that time though?).

Petitions, especially coming from foreigners like us are always useless.

They won't start from the beginning. I would have preferred because of what they skipped in the movies but since it's going to be like that

I think he has the direction "wheel of time" fantasy novel series took in mind. About having outlined the rest of the story to his editor and lending onus to some other mangaka to finish it

In that trailer only one shot was handmade, when they focus on Guts face. The rest is all CG, and the way he walks is very rigid. Haven't watched that many CG anime, but this doesn't look that great even in terms of CG.

Yeah, I mean asking for every scene to be handdrawn might be too much, but this is still below the standard of what I was hoping for.. I would still watch it though.

We still don't know at this point if it's a TV series, a movie or other.They still haven't revealed it I think. Some of the shots in the trailer aren't that bad, like the corpse one, but they really need to improve on the other stuff. If it's a TV series I'll prolly watch the first episode to see how it turns out.If it's really that bad then I'll prolly not watch the rest.
Btw I wonder if they're going to use these shots from when the Berserk movie was leaked

Its been so long since I dream of vol 1-2 and after v14 to be animated.
Berserk anime is the reason I every started looking at manga.
I hope its only CGI on big number of people fights. Although theirs heaps of that with the spawn of monsters each night and the armies.

I think you guys are being too picky! I'd prefer a fully hand drawn and colored version as well but for the most part that teaser looked excellent to me. Looked kind of stiff and awkward when Guts was walking but the actual action sequence was excellent. I wish Onepunch Man's animators were doing it. That would be orgasmic. BUT AT LEAST it's not fucking Toei with their bull shit excuse of an anime in Dragonball Super. You want to talk about bad animation?

Looks like the same style as the first 3 golden age movies. CGI but hand colored style. Sort of a 50% look. It looks better than 100% CGI at least. I still think this will be faithful enough to be worth watching. I am still excited for it.

People are overreacting I think. Sure would've prefered less use of CGI (then again we don't even know if it really will be all CGI), but that does not have to be a bad thing necessarily. The CGI in "Knights of Sidonia" was pretty great and made for some amazing action scenes. It's certainly more cheap and a lot of people have issues getting used to CGI, but if done well it can be surprisingly good. Won't judge the whole show yet, feels way too early, especially considering that we've not seen much.

I do hope for an anime though, plz.

The atmosphere is essentially the same as Berserk, but the gameplay I'm not sure they're the best in that department.

Platinum games said they'd love to make a Berserk game.

The thing is if the trailer is any indication of what the final product looks like, then it's is rather crappy, even in terms of CGI.
This looks way better than the Berserk trailer
So saying that people are overreacting just because it's CG is really not accurate. The trailer is simply bad even in terms of CGI. You just have to compare the CGI to that of Knights of Sidonia.
Unless they manage to make it look better in the actual anime, and perhaps use less CGI.

And really it's disappointing that all these projects some of which we've been waiting for years now are getting the CGI treatment, just because it's cheap. I don't like this trend tbh.

To be fair though, if you have armor... technically you can't walk as smooth as you would like. Rigid, should be it, yeah.

To be fair he needs more of a light armor, in order to be able to fight and swing the DS around. It's not a full plate either, he only has some parts of his body recovered in armor, mainly his torso, biceps and his legs. I do not think the armor is supposed to be heavy and it prolly doesn't provide great protection, just the bare minimum.
Besides I think you're ignoring my point about the animation making his walk look too stiff.

So...

He does wear full plate greaves on his legs, which does in fact make it a little hard to walk "smooth". But I do agree that's it's an animation mistake. Too stiff and unnatural.

I guess I have to apologize for being a hardcore Berserk fan, and for wanting for this series to get the best adaptation possible. Anything less would seem more of a bad thing than a good one. So sorry for not wanting to have an adaptation at all costs, and for actually being concerned about its quality.
